I know Roger. It’s kinda silly that something as important as the location and access of the spare is omitted. I’m glad this video was able to help 👍👍👍 Thank you for the feedback 🙏🏽
I just got a 2012. Now I know how to use it's features. Well, everything but the touchscreen stuff. Mine has a normal button covered dash. Thanks for the great videos!
@XelaWash @Thanks for the video. My issue now is I can’t get the spare tire bay to lift back up. I can hook it in to the bay but when I use the lug wrench to wind it back, it doesn’t retract at all it seems. @6:13
@@xelawashUnfortunately, doesn’t looked like it’s budged at all. Spend about 10 minutes turning it. I saw in the manual that you can break the retraction mechanism. I guess I did that trying to get it to retract. I’m not sure what to do. The care is definitely drivable but not at high speeds. Looking for any info that might help.
@@xelawash I do. It’s definitely hooked up to the hook. I did see that the guide said about 70 full turns after being hooked up, but I haven’t noticed the bolt getting tighter after all those turns.
Wow, I never knew it was that much of a headache to change a tire with the doughnut. You mentioned gloves, I think I'm going to go to Harbor Freight and get some CHEAPO leather gloves and keep them with the jack. Nice job!!
hey! im trying to jack up the whole car with all 4 wheels off the ground. what points of contact should i use a floor jack in order to get jack stands on the designated spots? thank you :) long live the crosstour
Wow, that’s always been one of my biggest frustrations. Unfortunately I don’t know what the best/safest place to lift other than those designated points, so I always end up squeezing the flat floor jack up against a jack stand to get them both under those designated points 😖 drives me nuts! but somehow I’ve lucky enough to make it work
@@xelawash I found the spots! there are good center chassis points just tucked behind the spare tire compartment and in the front, it’s pretty tough to miss. I use a garage jack so that’s how i do that. I don’t really know how to get it up onto all 4 jackstands but ill figure it out someday
@@B4B0-SoundCloud without having major equipment, it’ll probably require us to have two jeep wrangler jacks, to put the vehicle high enough in the air, put the four stands in place, then slowly lower it down onto the stands. (Lol I might be overthinking… 🤷♂️)
Hey Seth! Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately that means you over screwed the bolt during the lowering process. Your bolt has separated from the cradle and cannot crank it back up to the vehicle. If you can somehow prop the cradle (that holds the tire) up high enough to reach the bolt, you may be able to get the two to connect again. I hope this helps…
I just thought about what you would need to do and it’s actually easier. Just get the cradle hook and the lowering bolt reconnected and that will enable you to put the tire cradle back onto the cradle hook and raise it
It's too wide to fit through the hole where the spare tire lowering bolt is. It seems to be stuck in a cavity above the fuel tank inside the bumper. I'm worried I'm going to have to have the tank dropped or the bumper taken apart 💀
Another great Crosstour instructional video, thank you for posting 😃👍
Thank you. Great help. I was wondering where my spare tire was.
This was so helpful! Glad to see a video on spare tire. You should be a helpful Honda Guy .
It was a nice thing you did to make this video.
I’m baaaack 🤣🤦🏽♀️ Couldn’t find the spare & boy this was the most tiring tire change I’ve ever experienced in my life 😂 .. But Thank Youuu!!! 🙌🏾
😂🤣💪🫶
Great video ! Stupid Honda doesn't have one word in my Crosstour manual regarding the spare tire location much less how to access it. Thanks again.

Thank you sir. Been meaning to check the spare pressure since getting the Crosstour. Great video....

That’s excellent!!!
Also be sure to add air to your spare tire while you have it out 👍
60 psi

It takes about 70-100 turns to raise it.

Please how do I know my gear and engine oil level on the deep stick for 2010 Crosstour?

I got the spare tire down, but when I went to screw the bolt back in to let up the carrier it wouldn’t go anywhere.

I dropped the wheel nut into the hole where the bolt lowering system is. Does anyone have an idea on how to get it out?
🤔 I would think it should have fallen all the way through. Are you certain it’s not in the spare tire cradle?
