As an engineer I generated many FEA images. Now retired I considered uploading drone images & video to Shutterstock. However considering what it pays it's not worth my time. I can do a few hours of engineering consulting and earn much more. Thanks for the insight.
Hi, did you notice a drop (or a gradual decline) in sales after you stopped uploading? Many people say the algorithm starts to ignore your works if you don't upload regularly so I'm just curious. :))
I'll look into it. It feels like it tapered off when I stopped uploading, but that also could have been due to increased competition. Adobe stock subjectively feels like it hasn't tapered off so harshly.
It mainly means the image is not good, and may be shutterstock partners AI company will use and will give you little bit money quarterly if any of their parter company is used your assets.
I don't understand how it's possible that, while the price of images and videos on Shutterstock is pretty high, the payment per download that the creator receives is so low...
The most important question! I won't have the best answer as I don't have enough images to give an evidence based answer. However, I like to think of it in terms of who the customers are. Customers go to stock websites if creating the image or video themselves is to much effort in time or money. This could be images with people in, unique places, unique or obscure or expensive objects and in my case specialist illustrations from software few use (who are also contributors). Niche images I think will do best. Furthermore, shutter stock and Adobe stock (I believe) list some images in demand from time to time. Hope it helps!

Hiya, It should be in the top right hand corner as always. If you window is narrower than full screen, it can disappear - else I'm not sure why it won't display. Maybe play around with your screen resolution. Or perhaps you have $0 unpaid earnings and so it does not show? Else it might need to be a customer service email to Shutterstock. Best of luck!

@@garrybasnett4133 I know I'm late, but I'll answer anyways, since it can help someone else - you can't request payment on shutterstock, they will pay it to you automatically next month from the moment you reached 35$ (or more if you changed your settings), and it's not even beginning of the month since it takes them some time to process it - about 10th to 15th day of the month you'll get your money.

My image are in data licencing instead of portfolio....why is that ....can I earn my revenue from it too

It's a numbers game for low competitions images. Uploading more images and for more niches is the key I think.

You get a minimum of $0.10 for every time someone downloads your image. The image is not free - it's more of a buy x get y free type arrangement.
