- The Security Council rejected Palestine’s request for UN membership on Thursday, with the United States casting a veto.
Palestinian UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour, at times emotional, told the council after the vote:
“Our Palestinian people, wherever they are, want life, they cling onto life. Just like the other peoples on this planet, the Palestinians are people who aspire to freedom, to a dignified life, to a peaceful existence. The people of Palestine will not disappear. The people of Palestine will not be buried.”
I am ashamed as an American! We represent the worst of humanity with our veto of this resolution.
America vetoed for Israel more times than all the other un members vetoed for anything combined.... why oh why America is a prisoner of Israel???
