Thank you for sharing. I was there nearly 15 years ago with VBS from church...we took the train from Kyiv to Kharkiv overnight....this brought back fond memories of all the great kind, nice people in Ukraine! Take care of yourself Nick...

Hi Nick! Its Rob. I know it has been a while since you posted the “Battle of Kyiv Hits Hard” video. I have been traveling and have not had an opportunity to share my reaction. But I am back home now and have watched your video a couple more times. It really illustrates in a personal way to me the horrors and devastation the attacks have had in Ukraine. The sight of the kitchens, cups, china, pans and furniture in bombed out apartments in Borodyanka is heartbreaking, but I believe it’s important for outsiders to see things like this. Social media reports like yours and commentary from people like Johnny Rogers add so much more to the narrative than nightly global news reports. In addition to the human toll, the war is causing enormous environmental damage to the region in the form of burned-out farmlands, flooding, toxic chemicals in the soil, water and air. This will affect millions of people throughout Ukraine and nearby states for many years to come. Meanwhile, I will definitely check out Johnny’s Ukrainian Relief Fund organization. Best regards, Rob
Hey Rob! Yes it's really tragic, but I agree that it is very important to share this information. Firstly because it's important people see from a first person perspective what's happening here but also to fight the propaganda that's flying around. I also agree that the environmental damage needs to be noticed as well as the animals that are suffering. Nothing is untouched by this war... As always I really appreciate hearing from you! I hope you had a nice trip! Cheers my friend! Nick
War is always ugly. It's hard to know what to say. I can relate as I was also forced out of my country due to war. Thanks for covering these sites and bringing us a piece of living history.
@@wayfarernick I'm just going from history. Like Billy Joel sings, "We didn't start the fire. It was always burning since the world was turning." Further, the war in my country took 10 years to wrap up, and they already knew it was unwinnable in 1965- according to the Washington Post leak.
It's a shame that there are not many videos and photos from other nearby towns and villages that were affected, pretty much everything is from Bucha and Irpin just because they have the status of cities.
Well that is true they get the most attention. I suspect the fact that they are closest to Kyiv and thereby easier to travel to also plays a role. I agree though that it's important to remember all the towns that suffered not just to most infamous one
You know, Nick, it’s particularly sad that you are a fellow Washingtonian. I am a born and raised West Seattleite of 41+ years and now live in Port Orchard. The reason why it’s sad is because of all of this NAFO, “Johnny FD” business you have chosen to be involved with. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you about Zelensky, and how he was an actor/comedian, who portrayed the president of a country in one of his roles, before he was hand-picked without any democratic election to become Ukraine’s next president. Zelensky was all about peace, and up until 2022 he was wanting to sign the Minsk agreement which would have made concessions to Russia. That would have in effect prevented this “proxy“ war from ever starting. However, the head of the Biden criminal family, Joe, sent Boris Johnson, the former Prime Minister of the UK to put a stop to all of that, which he did. Joe had Boris do so, because Joe was affectively given Ukraine under the Obama administration. During his time in the US Senate, he served on and chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, for Ukraine. He knew that he had these millions of dollars tied up in illegal/shady investment deals with Ukraine and China. So, he decided to use this war to cover that up. It is also a war of resources. Instead of putting Ukrainian citizens/soldiers through the meat grinder and agreeing to the Minsk accord, the Joe Biden, along with Zelensky’s flop move, furthers their love of money, which is the root of all evil. This in order to stay on top of world dominance regarding all of the trillions of dollars worth of minerals, etc., and agricultural assets that Ukraine possesses within its borders. It is a struggle between the emerging BRICS nations vs the western/Euro SWIFT system. Look at all of the foreign investment being poured into Africa specifically from China, to tap into their trillions of dollars of untouched oil, gas, and mineral reserves, etc. You are foolishly advocating for all of this by continuing to support Ukraine/greedy & evil Zelensky/Biden, and thereby extension the United States. I suppose really the whole world, as we are being ushered into a New World Order, and all powers that be are evil and corrupt. May God bless you, and bless us all.
There is absolutely nothing that can justify what Russia has done/is doing in Ukraine. Full stop. You completely missed the point of this video. It seems you have fallen for Russia's propaganda machine. I would encourage you to diversify your media intake.
@@wayfarernick Absolutely correct., Nick And, as a fellow Brit, I can tell you, 'pawpawthebeagle', that if you believe that Boris Johnson had any influence on some shadowy US/UK deal to 'create' the russian invasion of Ukraine, then you are on crack, my friend.
Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
Makes me want to see it for myself

@@wayfarernick Nick, I don't think peace is near. These things are long drawn out and pointless.

From where you're staying how far was the first column? How close were they to the city center?
About 30 min driving with no traffic. Super close. Technically outside the Kyiv city limits but only just
