Annika's first Christmas in India - Finnish Indian family vlog

- I didn't have much time for Christmas preparations this year for Annika's first Christmas in India. Last year we had a wonderful, snowy family Christmas in Finland, when she was just a little baby. I would've loved to create something as magical here in India too especially as she's getting bigger now and understands things better, but due to lack of time had to keep it easy and simple - which in the end made for a relaxing Christmas as we only focused on enjoying the holiday together in our Kerala home :)

Seems like yesterday and Annika's second christmas has come. I remember writing a nice poem to the Snowy Owl of Lapland th-cam.com/video/7ryg-eZhqHE/w-d-xo.html. It gets me going now !
Tucked away in green paynnur oasis
two feet tippy tapping and burst of laughter's
mama and papa so the mumble grows
Little Annika is now 1.5 year old
O Santa Merry Christmas to you,
take my love to tati and mummi
my joy to grand uncles and isoisa
O' Snowy Owl of Lapland, despair not, Annika will come next year
Oh that is so lovely! Thank you ❤
Anything for Annika
Annika is a delight! She is developing fast, she is a quick learner, thanks to the quality time you spend with her. Merry Christmas
Thank you! I'm sure credit also goes to Annika's fearless personality. She's not afraid to try new things even if she fails :)

Annika is so smart! I loved when she was reciting the ABCs. She is so adorable! ❤
Really nice seeing Annika talking and enjoying herself. But hats off to you for doing so much on Christmas day
Oh thank you! But if you’d see how much MY mom does for Christmas, this would seem like nothing at all! 😅
Annika is a delight to watch. She is very articulate. Happy Christmastide to all of you
Her Ghoda utha is so sweet😂😂 give wooden horse toy in which for kids ride.. that amazing
She uses her Mommy and Daddy as her horses 😅
Annika has grown into a delightful smart little girl. It is wonderful that you are teaching her different customs of her parents and explaining everything to her. Wishing you Merry Christmas and happiness.
Ha .....ha.... ha.... dosa she can say words fluently ❤️❤️❤️❤️😀😀❤️❤️
She speaks Hindi as fluently as anyone her age would, i think 😊
Johanna, you are an amazing mum, you don’t give yourself enough credit! 💖
Compliments of the season! Soothing to see how a mixed marriage couple is celebrating in Kerala. Brings back fond memories of my motherland _ so vast, so diverse and how we as a country has progressed. We Catholics in Kerala must have a fruit cake and wine for about eleven days, catching up with relatives and friends for this period and cake a wine is a must at every home we visit during this season. Ofcourse there were other goodies on the list _ coconut sweets (similar to the Western Coconut Ice, Kulkuls and Halwa). Maybe the Portuguese introduced this tradition _ cake and wine. And we also had serenaders visiting homes singing the latest Western carols which I suppose was learnt from Radio Ceylon. Now you have brought your cheerful tradition to Kerala. Thank God for youtube where we can see such educative clips of everyday life in a country.
There was fruit cake too at our Christmas get together, but i dont think we had any coconut sweets! The traditions must vary between different regions, or even families 😊 but it’a definitely always interesting to learn about different people’s own traditions, i so agree with you on that
Unfortunately Christmas has nothing to do with Christ ...it is of pagan origin... Look up Saturnalia, Winter Solstice and Mithras....😖
Annika is growing up before our eyes she is so much fun. You had a perfect Christmas 🎄 😍. Happy New Year.
She learned more hindi for Annika only. I am waiting your vedios God bless. Her cute baby👶 for her only I watch the video repeat and repet
What a beautiful family and a nice laid back holiday celebration! Love watching you build traditions with your family! Happy holidays and may the new year bring you lots of joy and peace!
Yes I’m trying to tell myself that our celebrations and traditions dont need to be locked and a done deal yet. We’re still learning and finding the best ways for us to do things, our traditions are in the making as a fairly new family 😊
I am in Indian living in Finland. Currently, I am learning Finnish just like Annika. Show more of Annika speaking those Finnish words in the context. It is so nice and easy for me to also learn. :) Sorry for being selfish ;)
Good luck with your Finnish studies! I know it’s not easy at all 🙏
She is more interested in the ornament of the horse, she will remember that gula gula, beautiful moments with that precious girl,
Annika is growing so fast. She's just delightful. So lovely to see you all back home again and enjoying Christmas day together. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.🎄🎅🎉⛄🎄💝🎈🎅🎍🎄
Merry Christmas and a happy new year, little Annika! ♥️ You’re growing up too quickly! If you read this comment someday, I just want you to know that you’re loved by thousands of people whose days you have brightened with your sweetest giggle and cute conversations! Sending lots of love.
I cannot believe how quickly the year has gone,it doesn't seem like yesterday when you were in Finland . I loved those vlogs. Annika has grown so much and she gets more adorable each day. Little cutie pie. You did a great job making Christmas special in India. Blessings ❤xx
It really does seem like just last week that we were in Finland to me too! 🥺❤️
Annika has grown so much, very beautiful
Annika is becoming so inquisitive in learning things. She is blessed to have a nice mom. Her Christmas cap and her cute activities is really awesome. Let Almighty always bless her with happiness. Love u ❤annika dear.

Keep up the great videos, loving it. Annika is so smart as she grows up. You guys are great parents!!!
Your Christmas looked so quiet & relaxing Johanna. Thanks for the precious images of Annika at this time. She is growing her language skills & it's just going to be more impressive exponentially going forward I would think. I hope you were in touch with your Mom & sister to bring the Finnish side of Christmas back to you a bit. I bet you miss the snow⛄. Wishing you all a most wonderful new year & happiness throughout. Much love send to you all. Love from uncle Blair ! ❤.
Oh yes definitely were missing the snow, winter sun and all but thankfully my mom and sister were sending lots of photos too 😊❤ wishing you a happy 2023, uncle B!

Oh my!!! I could listen to annika speak all day long.❤
Annika is definitely Finnish Indian baby, as at @7:34 she started to eat with fork but reverted back to hand....
You are taking me back to Christmas of 2020 and 2021. I lived in a Gurdwara in Punjab. We really didn't have a Christmas celebration. I missed the holiday traditions and family getting together. This year I was home in California for Christmas. It was the saddest Christmas of my life. My family (siblings, nieces and nephews), all did their own thing. I cried a lot and remembered Punjab, because there is where my best friend in the world 🌎 is. Pardeep Singh. Even though we had no gifts, special meal, tree or decorations, we had each other. When I see you sitting at the table together, I remembered Pardeep coming to my room and I would make him sandwiches, cooked in desi ghee. Either veggies and cheese or peanut butter and jelly. Then we would go for a walk. I miss him and those times so much. I used to yell at him for putting his feet on my legs at the table. Sure wish I could feel those boney feet cutting into my legs now. I hear Annika using what sounds like Punjabi words. She is so fun to watch. Bless your family. 👪
I never miss your videos !!! They are so beautiful and natural!!!❤️❤️❤️👍
The way you raise your baby is adorable ! Wish you all good wishes😍
Great to see Annika growing and learning so fast , god bless Annika and both of you, may all your wishes come true, Merry Christmas
Really like how she says mama and papa..
Wow, what an entertaining video! Annika is always making sure papa is near her for assurance. She looks good, adorable and is getting better on her vocabulary! Time flies just watching this little angel! So many presents for Annika, lucky girl! By the way, traditional date cake looked yummy! Have a great day.
Merry Christmas to you Johanna, Vinod and Annika. I enjoyed every second of this vlog because though it's a quiet Christmas, there's abundance of love, patience, care and lots of love among the three of you while getting Annika to decorate the tree and mummy in preparing the meals for Christmas. You're not alone, Johanna - I feel that all of us who watch this vlog is together with you as a family in celebrating this auspicious day. I'm pretty sure all these celebrations are going to be memorable ones for Annika as she seems to be really happy in what she's doing with you and Vinod.
God bless 🤗🎄🎄💕
Johanna, I can see u had a lovely Xmas at home. What a delight and absolute pleasure it is to see and hear Annika growing up and developing! 😍She is such a blessing and joy. Hope your New Years brings continued happiness, much health and good travels. Much love from an endlessly wet 🇵🇹. 🙏☔ ⛈️✨🎉

Very happy kid Annika is. A very loving family.
When I watched Annika wearing an oversized watch my mind went back to my childhood days when I had the fad of wearing my father's sandals all the time. 🥰
happy new year our dear Annika....

Annika has grown so much! ❤🧿 Such a happy, cheeky and loveable little girl. 🥰 Bless you, I hope you had a lovely Christmas despite missing family back home. 🎄Sending lots of love from England. 🇬🇧🤗
Hope you had happy, peaceful holidays in england too! ❤
@@JohannaNorth We did, Thankyou 😇☺️
Merry Christmas to you and your family Johanna. I believe the best Christmas is the celebration of what's within you and who's with you rather than what's around you. In my opinion, you three celebrated what mattered to you... Each other ❤❤❤
Little Annika is a delight ❤
That is definitely the most essential part of any holiday 🥰
Annika is adorable and very sweet Girl she speaks very good Hindi I like it when she was keep saying ghoda utha again and again ❤😘🥰😊I love it she is smart she is learning different languages same time 😊🇺🇸
Annika definitely seems to be having a natural gift for languages, but I think most kids in multilingual settings do usually learn really well, as kids absorb everything around them 😊
Happy holidays once again ...
Hello Johanna Vinod and Annika ♥️happy Christmas sweetie 🎄♥️Annika is talking so 👧🏻well English Finnish and Indian language very good for her age 🐾🎄🎄🎄♥️🎄🙏🙏🙏
Annika was not interested in gifts at all like many other children. I agree with you, making special preparations for the celebration is stressful. But everything is easier when it is simple. Otherwise, you cannot enjoy that special day due to tiredness.
Merry Christmas Annika: You are such a big girl! Where did the time go. You look totally adorable in your Santa hat and you did such a good job in helping mummy decorate the tree. You were so proud to show daddy the picture of you and a bicycle and the beautiful colouring that you were doing. Mummy you did a beautiful job with all the Christmas decorations, food and festivities and daddy you were so supportive the whole time. What a difference a whole year makes. I know Johanna that you wish you could be in Finland during the holidays, but I truly believe now that Annika is older this Christmas was much more meaningful to her than last year. Thank you for sharing your beautiful Christmas with us.🥰🥰
Thank you so much ❤ Annika being at an age now where she is understanding and appreciating things better and also doing a lot herself is one of the main reasons why I’d want to spend Christmas in Finland so much. I know she must enjoy our celebrations here too, but the Finnish Christmas is just so important to me and something I want to pass on to her - it’s quite difficult to try to do that in a country so different like india (not sure if I’m able to explain myself?)
@@JohannaNorthDear Johanna: I totally understand how you feel. It may not be the same celebrating Christmas in India, but I just wanted to say that you put together a beautiful Christmas even though you couldn't be in Finland. I hope that next Christmas you will be able to celebrate Christmas in Finland so Annika can experience and enjoy a Finnish Christmas now that she's getting older. You and Vinod are amazing parents. 😍💚💚💚💚🥰🥰
Annika is definitely in her element in all aspects ♥️ She is the star♥️😍
Wishing you all a serene 2023☮🥳🎉🧿🍀♥️
She speaks so so so good. God bless her always
Merry Christmas 🎄 Arnika muhaa.
How super cute the opening of presents were. Merry Christmas 🎄 Happy New Year.
Wishing you, Annika and Vinod a Merry Christmas and an amazing New Year!! Your Christmas cake looks amazing and am sure it tastes yummy too. Celebrating festivals together as a family is so important and I can see how much Annika was enjoying it.
Thank you so much! We did enjoy the cake a lot and got compliments from Vinod’s office too after sending some there as Christmas greetings 😊
Annika is so Beautiful🙌🙌🙏🏼🙏🏼Merry Christmas n Happy New Year ❤
Love your vlogs it's very relaxing ☺️

Wish you Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Annika’s super adorable & lovely 🥰 Merry Christmas 🎄 & Happy New Year👍🏻🙏🏻😊
Super cute Christmas❤...with Annika speaking 3 languages and decorating cristmas tree 😂🥰🎄👌❤!
Congratulations Johanna for your pizzas 👏👏👏👌😍..(I'm an italian women 😂😂😂)!
Best wishes for 2023, peace and health! 🙏⭐🎉🎄
Thanks a lot! My pizzas are nothing compared to the PROPER Italian style, but we do really enjoy these as home made ones and much more than the pan pizzas which are the only restaurant option in this area 😅 currently dreaming about travelling to Italy in the future thanks to watching the white lotus!
Cuteness overloaded ❤️
Thank you for this beautiful video! 😍 Annika is so lucky to have such wonderful parents.
Next year during Onam, try making 'Pookkalam' (Flower carpet made on the floor in front of the house). You could plant Marigold (Jamanthi) of various colors (yellow, white, red, orange) in flower pots in front of your house. You could also plant Vadamalli (Globe amaranth, Bachelor's buttons) etc.
3. Konnapoo (golden shower, purging cassia, Indian laburnum.).
I am sure you could Google to find more flowers and buy seeds online.
Very nice Annika ❤ happy new year
My baby sister’s name is Annika as well but I call her my mona because when she was born she was beautiful as mona lisa but now she is a mother to three kids
Aww, time passes so quick doesn't it! Probably won't take very long and I'll be in the grandma phase of life too :')
Merry Christmas from UK
Happy family Lovely couple cute kid god bless you bro ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👌👌👌👌

She is so beautiful🥰

What a delightful episode that was!
Loved all your Christmas preparations! The home made pizza especially looked very yummy. 😍
Wishing you an awesome 2023! Stay blessed!
Hello Johanna. Here's a trick for next year's Christmas preparations in India at your home. I live in the tropics and many homes set up the lights, trees and decor like a winter wonderful so even though you're not in actual snow, you can be creative that way and feel the Christmas spirit whenever you step inside your house Just prepare, organize, buy the stuff and decorate. Order the train set, santa, elves and villages etc. or whatever decor that provides that Finnish Christmas feeling so Annika can experience her Finnish culture in some way.
Beautiful Christmas video with Annika and family, your Finland Christmas video we followed last year, that was also beautiful, whole Finland was snow covered, I enjoyed that video a lot, but this time your Christmas is also very sweet at home, Annika's involvement in decoration of Christmas tree is superb ❤️❤️ and Johanna your Christmas food....too good 👍
Seems like it was just yesterday that we were spending Christmas in Finland! But we did have a cozy, relaxing holiday here too in the end😊
Happy Christmas
