Lovely video, did a similar trip in late November 2019, surprising how different some places looked (less snow) in such a short time. Something about that place changed me, trip of a lifetime.
Yes, there's a couple of different tracks. "By Shimmering Lake" - Many Moons Ago "Green Summer Waves" - Qeeo "Jevremovac in Fall" - Infinity Ripple "Simple Gestures" - Yonder Dale "Like Clockwork" - Benjamin Kling "What Once Was" - Gavin Luke "After the Rain" - Silver Maple "Summer Memories" - Gavin Luke
Thanks! This cruise was incredibly expensive as my boat was small and the area's so remote. All together around $10k, but for me 100% worth it. Hope you get to visit one day!
Haha yes, they certainly have a penguin smell and they're quite noisy. Yes, I lucked out with a calm drake 80% of the voyage. There was one day on the way back that it got quite bad - breakfast had low attendance that day...
I think I overdosed on Euphoria my first ever visit to Alaska and Yukon, Canada in 2017. Went back in 2019 to finish what I started in 2017- driving the Dalton Hwy in Alaska, the Dempster Hwy in Yukon and NWT Canada. Antarctica on my bucket list one day.
I booked through Poseidon expeditions and they were fantastic! Even though we had some delays at the beginning they certainly made up for it and gave us some unique experiences. I personally went for the smallest boat I could find because in Antarctica only 100 people can land at a time. It's definitely the more expensive option (and the Drake passage gets significantly rougher on a small boat), but you maximize your time actually on Antarctica - which is what I was looking for.

I went in mid-December and lucked out with some perfect weather! December, January and February tend to be the most popular - the main differences seem to be how far south you can get from ice melting and the animals (penguin chicks were just starting to hatch when I was there).
Maegan luv your video. But I dun have the luxury of time because of my job So I guess I need to go the expensive route. Do you know or have heard of any reputable tour with 100 or less people, to recommend?
@@marcang4403 I personally went with Posiedon expeditions as there ship has just over 100 people. I got off at every landing site and had plenty of time. I also considered Quark expeditions as there tours are a bit less expensive.

Hi, new friend here, best regards from Switzerland.. one of my dream destination is Antarctica, hope you can visit my house too.. keep safe and see you😊
Luckily there are no polar bears in Antarctica, just the Arctic region :) The ship captain was very conservative with the ice so I felt pretty safe... wasn't going to watch the Titanic though haha.
Gorgeous footage, wow! Antarctica has always been my dream trip. Thank you for sharing 😊
How cute the baby penguins
When a Penguin walks by, I feel like my Boss coming to me in the morning with an agenda in his mind, with an attitude.
😆😆😩😩
Wonderful journey, thank you for sharing amazing video 👌👌👌
This video deserves a million views to say the least.

were you not scared that your ship might have hit an iceberg or a polar bear might have snuck up on you on land?
@@MuhammadAliGOAT There are no polar bears in Antarctica. :)
@@MuhammadAliGOAT we turned around before we hit an iceberg!

Great job narrating the adding music to this travelogue. Fantastic work!
Great video! We have tickets for Feb. 2022 with Hurtigruten. It looks like even a cloudy day will bring great memories.
Antarctica is one of my most favourite places on Earth 🌏. It's hugely costly but hope to make it someday soon. Cheers from Kolkata 🙏 India ☺️🙏

What was the total cost of this cruise . Hope to visit there once in life time. Thxs for a wonderful video. From India, delhi.
Thanks! This cruise was incredibly expensive as my boat was small and the area's so remote. All together around $10k, but for me 100% worth it. Hope you get to visit one day!
that's a trip of a life time. Were you able to cross the 66th parallel?
Wow what an amazing place! We hope to travel there one day!
Keep it amazing by not going
Lotsa penguins..I have read that the smell is indescribable. Looks like the Drake Passage crossing was pretty calm-or was it?

Great video ! Beautiful footage! Which camera did you use for this ?
I used a few different cameras for this - a Canon 90D, Canon T3i, my smartphone and an Osmo Action.
@@Synchrosk8r08 Did you pat one of the penguins? You seemed so close to them. I want to pat one and maybe a seal also.
Hello
Great video!
Did you experienced the never ending sun phenomenon?
like there is no nights right during December ?
thanks
Yes! There are semi-sunsets, but the sun just kind of hovers around the horizon. It's really beautiful.

dumb question but was there wifi on the cruiseship?
There's satalite wifi available but it's very spotty and expensive. I didn't bother; was nice to be disconnected :)
