And I wasn't there. In spirit only. Today I watched this for the first time. I'm 57, and I've seen a lot of ugliness in this life. Then there's the few, like Eric. They show us salvation is still out there. I'm not ashamed to say tears are running down my face as I write this.
My son and his wife were at the concert in Vegas. He had deployed to the Middle East right after they got married, and had just gotten home from fighting ISIS in Iraq, and the festival in Vegas was their honeymoon. Just hours before the shooting, they posted a photo of themselves, with the window the shooter later used in the background, with the comment "Day, 3 still alive and going strong!" Little did anyone know what was to come... I thank God they survived, and I still pray for all those who weren't as fortunate, and for their families.
Poor Eric. Still dealing with the aftermath of this trauma. You can just tell that he’s shaken and visibly struggling not to cry. The pain of this event will never go away, for those who experienced it. God bless Eric. For being so brave and vulnerable…
Love this guy even more now! What a toughing speech (minus the RUDE yell out of Jason Aldean name, WHY?) You can tell this broke something in him, his BIG HEART, but he loves his fans so much that he still comes back with this amazing song, written in no time at all!!!! Just shows what a great talent he is and a even greater person! Thank you Eric for this amazing tribute and thank God you didn't give up! This is one fan that would have missed you and you great music and your kind ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ heart!
When Vegas happened, the first thing I said was, "Those were my people." There's actual proof that that's exactly what I wrote on social media just after they announced the news. Hearing him say the exact same words a few nights later was honestly kind of eerie. Obviously, I didn't mean that they were my fans, I've just been to so many country shows, it could have been me. I'm a country fan. Those were my people. Prayers to the families of those that were lost and prayers to the survivors. We don't talk enough about the people who live through these experiences. I hope they find peace...Somehow.
I have A Situation w/his Observation. He NEVER mentioned the Ones that couldn't afford to be his "GROUPIES" and follow him all year. Those that may have scrimped and saved, done w\out some things to go see him . Maybe 1st timers...only Timers. May you know that You Aren't Forrgotten by This Christan. May you ....
