    This circuit simulates the operation of a Traffic Light and works thanks to two ICs: NE555 and CD4017. The NE555 acts as a timer, while the CD4017 is used to drive the three LEDs. The signal generated by NE555 is sent to CD4017 which regulates the operation of the three LEDs. The pins 1,5,6,9,10,11,12 are the outputs for the LEDs, pins 2,3,4,7 are unused. The "Traffic Light" effect is possible thanks to the combination of diodes 1N4148 which manage the switching on time of each of the three LEDs. Finally I added a LED to indicate the presence of power, and a second LED to indicate the presence of the signal generated by the NE555.
    After trying the excellent service offered by JLCPCB I recommend it, the quality of the circuits is high, customer service is always available and professional, the time of realization is short and the delivery of PCBs is by express courier.

    I really liked your project the PCB board, which was perfect, really beautiful, and I want to congratulete you, but I noticied that during the operation of this circuit, the yellow LED lit up when changing from the red LED to the green LED. Is this correct in your country?

      Yes is correct, I have chosen a type of traffic light that I would like to have in my country as well, in order to warn the driver that the green light is about to turn on like this: th-cam.com/users/shortsi6ubteR2p04?feature=share

    This is probably a stupid question but I am learning. How does the red LED stay in when the yellow led comes on. It only seems to receive 1 clock pulse. Also what are the diodes for? Red led doesn't have one. Is there a reason for this?
    (great video. I subscribed)

    • @Stefano91ste
      @Stefano91ste  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, it's not a stupid question :) The IC CD4017 has 10 outputs that they give an output in sequence, and the frequency with which they give an output is generated by NE555. The diodes are used to convey the various ignitions to create the traffic light effect.

      Hi, thanks for appreciating my work.
      it is possible to change the speed of the LEDs by adjusting the frequency produced by the NE555 by changing the 22K resistor (the one between pins 7 and 2) .. but this would change the speed of all 3 LEDs, unfortunately it is not possible to change only the green and red LED speed with this type of circuit.

    • @Stefano91ste
      @Stefano91ste  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, to connect lights that require a lot of energy, there may be 2 solutions:
      1) Connect power transistors instead of the LED to amplify the current output from the circuit.
      2) Pilot 5V relays which will then pilot the bulbs you want to connect

    Which element should be changed to achieve different speed of changing lights?

    • @nabeelahsan504
      @nabeelahsan504 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The values of the capacitors or resistors should be changed to achieve different time delay values.
      The delay is controlled by the formula T= R*C, where T is the delay, c is Capacitance and R is resistance

    • @Stefano91ste
      @Stefano91ste  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How much does JLCPCB pay you to sponsor them? How about if you explain what a gerber file is, and also indicate what country JLCPCB is in. No use dealing with them from the US or elsewhere since shipping would kill the deal.

    • @Stefano91ste
      @Stefano91ste  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi,
      - A gerber file is simply the format of the file you export the PCB to. it is actually used for the production of printed circuits, to trace electrical connections such as tracks, copper layers, solder mask, legend, drill data, etc.. The gerber file contains information for drilling and milling the PCB. These files are generated by circuit routing software (I use sprint layout 6) and are sent to PCB builders to be loaded into their machinery software to print PCB.
      - JLCPCB is in China, I have no idea what US taxation is like.
      - Regarding sponsorship it is not a topic that can be talked about, are confidential things :)
      Regarding the gerber files I will make a dedicated video with some extra information!
