    So let me get this right. As long as I have this device and a 3G USB modem (and the Sim card), I can use this as my own personal WiFi free of charge anywhere I go? Even in say, my car? At a place of work? I ask because I like to use apps like Pandora and Spotify in my car for music.

    • @JoseGonzalez-hr2yz
      @JoseGonzalez-hr2yz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but you need necessary a pc to conect it to the internet every time that you'll use it

  • @nashnash1670
    @nashnash1670 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    so I gotta have a 3g usb thing to insert to the portable router to get Internet access? are there any routers with sim card accessibility so that I don't have to use the 3g usb thingy?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that there are newer ones that work directly with the SIM, but they are a lot larger. An example is: th-cam.com/video/KsvWUtgyqaA/w-d-xo.html

    Can you use the hotspot without a USB port or the hotspot being connected to a computer? Can you simply take it with you in your pocket and it will work?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will work as a wifi router, but it need an WAN connection to either it's wan wired port or to it's usb port (modem)

      TechTronic9000 can you use any USB port?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The router only has one usb port and that support a selected list of devices (dongle modems).

    •  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TechTronic9000 but do you need a sim card

    • @TechTronic9000

      It has a AP (access point) function so you can plug it to a LAN and it will give you a WiFi.

    Does the data slow down after a certain amount of gigabytes is used, like a phone or is it like home wifi completely unlimited and no slowing down?

  • @angelisone
    @angelisone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    It comes with the USB stick (2:25)?
    If not, what is that called with card?
    I don't see the USB stick when you open the box.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +angelisone The USB stick is a modem supplied by the network operator.

    • @angelisone
      @angelisone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TechTronic9000 Will this works on Windows 7 & 10 without using USB stick (modem), which I do not have?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +angelisone As a normal router, it's compatible with any operating system as it uses standard WiFi and LAN.

    • @angelisone
      @angelisone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TechTronic9000 I didn't understand the editing video & all of the sudden you placed the USB stick onto the TL-Link.
      $40.0 of this & $40/month for USB stick are too much trouble with object sticking out of the TL-Link.
      Thank your for replying back.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +angelisone Depends on your services. In my country we have 4G data plans low as 4 euro / month. A 50 Mbit connection is fast enough for a few mobile devices to share for normal usage.

    Thanks for the video. One question: if the tplink if turned-on, configured as 3G/4G with dongle and battery goes down... When you plug-it again, it starts automatically the wifi with 3G connection without touch any button?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might need a restart, mine will start to freeze up when the battery is too low and also it might not start when it's charging and turned on also.

      u could set it up the tplink , onto ''client mode '' take wifi from ur phone ( if ur phone have sharing option his data into wifi mini hotspot ) or any device who give wifi , and then share it to Rj45 of the tplink , u can also put a switch behind the tplink rj45, ( into client mode ) or even a cpl network , and another wifi Acces point ,behind ur cpl if u want make a new network by wifi who share more km than just ur phone wifi sharing

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Shafiq Mustafa (Soon) Yes exactly, and the broadband turns into a WAN, while the TP-Link acts like a router and gives WiFi conectivity for multiple devices.

    tnx for the video .. question is do I have to setup anything for connecting dongle to TP link router .. suppose I have 4 g airtel or Vodafone dongle ..it's just plug and play and there is no need of any initial setup or anything .. tnx

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to configure it first. You must initially check if the dongle is supported by tplink, they have an updated list on their website, after that you need to configure it from the tplink settings (similar with a router).

    what if I turn on my phones USB Internet tethering and connect it to this device? would it work? I have wireless mobile hotspot, but it is not as fast as connecting my phone to my computer using USB tethering. It even feels as if I had home internet, but without the bill. Im just looking for a device that can turn my phone's USB tether into my own personal Wifi hotspot at full speed rather than the regular speed when I turn on my hotspot or use my phone. Thanks. Hopefully it exists lol

    • @TechTronic9000

    I'm going to ask what you might think is a stupid question. I'm techie illiterate, and the video wasn't complete for the reason I was watching it. Does the router get hooked to the phone? Or, because the wifi is installed with the phone, do the wifi waves travel with the phone? My employer blocked us from wifi, so one worker bought a netgear router to hook to the computer at our work station, and my phone picks up the wifi from that router. However, I don't want a router that's obvious, like the netgear is, I don't want a router that has to be hooked to the work station computer, also like the netgear is. So, does this router need to be hooked to the work station computer?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +daksmom1999 Hi there ! This router has WiFi embedded in it, so you can connect your mobile to it, without any cables. You just need a compatible 3G USB modem and a valid data card. You can also connect the router to a WAN internet connection and it will broadcast that connection over WiFi. If you still have questions ask me :)

  • @MichaelJohnson-
    @MichaelJohnson- 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is not a router, that is a hot spot and maybe supports 5 people at most. The antennas built into this device will not serve you well in remote areas and it will not take a 3/4g signal while charging USB. SurosWireless.com

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Michael Johnson if you are trying to promote your website using my video, then it would have been a lot better to know your facts. The above device is a full blow router, it can serve a full class of ip users. It works while chargeing and the 3G/4G is determined by your usb device (modem).

    • @MichaelJohnson-
      @MichaelJohnson- 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? Tell me, where do I plug my Playstation or Xbox into it? My TV if I need to? How are updates to firmware done? Automatic over that USB device perhaps? Where do the Wi-Fi antennas go precisely? So that little device will handle 50 users simultaneously and not go nuts or the battery drain in minutes? Will that rx/tx when charging over usb or does it need an outlet? That is a hot spot with basic routing functionality, at best.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Michael Johnson now it's clearly that you have no idea of what you are talking about. If you are so interested in this product than I advise you to go on the producer's website, and download it's manual, i believe you can do at least that, if not then Google it. By the way the device has a dual purpose LAN/WAN port if you know what that is.

      So let me get this correct. You plug a cell phone sim card to the USB stick as the modem to get connect to the cellular signal when you switch to 3g/4g mode. In ap mode it works like a regular access a point where you plug in a loan wire from an ISP/internet connection. The wisp mode you can connect to a WiFi service provider like going to a coffee shop / airports/ hotel. Is that correct?
