I got the Invincible Run 3 recently and have put in 25 miles so far. I have all of the shoes here except for the Nimbus 25, which I am planning to try in the not-too-distant future even though I really don't need more shoes. I like the IR3 but I haven't been able to get as good of a lockdown as I had hoped. I need to try more different thickness socks. The ride is more muted than Invincible Ride 2 although it certainly provides more than ample protection from road impact. It's also more stable but I never found stability to be an issue on v2 anyway.
The day after a 8-mile run on the Invincible Run 3, I took the Prime X Strung on a 12-mile run and, for me, there was no comparison. The PXS kills it in every kind of run imaginable, including slow and easy. The ride is just so much more pleasurable and fun. At the end of the run with IR3, my legs felt exhausted. At the end of the much longer run with the PXS, I felt like I could easily go another 5 miles. And this pair of PXS I got at USD150 during the holiday sale so, even value-wise, there is no comparison for me. These days, it's as though I run in other shoes just to experience and savor again the next day just how great the Prime X Strung is.

Good point about the stability on the nimbus. I tried it briefly on treadmill in store. I was so excited to try it after the reviews online, but I really didn't like it standing, walking, or jogging. Opposite might be true for someone who likes stability.

Has anyone attempted removing the carbon plates from an old pair, then regluing the foam back together? I would LOVE to know what a slab of LS Pro would feel like underfoot.

As a previous user of the Invincible lineup I’m impressed with the update. A lot of engineering done to the shoe, making it more stable/foam. However, when wearing thin socks I did feel slight ankle slippage. I also could’ve gone a half size down but my narrow foot swells up.

Same here. I don’t get the issues that others seem to be plagued with on this version.

  • @Prinniev

I've had bad experience with the invincible 1 ( 3 pairs got upper-midsole seperation) and skipped the 2nd version. I haven't seen anyone in my local route using the invincibles after it first released, maybe because of the tropical climate we have here, the glue couldn't hold up. My friends that used the shoe for casual wear had the same issue. 😂
Per checking the 3rd model on display last weekend, they seem to have included a strobel board, which made me less interested (no more direct contact with the squashy midsole)😅

I ran the 2022 Boston, Chicago and New York City marathons in the Adidas Prime X. No problems. Picked up the Strung version a couple weeks ago and am planning on using those for Boston in a couple months (haven't worn them yet). The Prime X is just the most comfortable shoe and it keeps giving me PRs (and qualifying times for Boston, Chicago and NYC)! I'm only running in the Prime X at the moment and it's perfect for training and marathon/half marathon racing (I don't do speed workouts at all). I'm a heel striker and really like the rocker effect. I'm also a supinator and I feel the shoe corrects that so I'm more neutral. I recently tried the Nike Alphafly NEXT% 2 Hakone Ekiden and as great a shoe that it is, the Prime X is just a better shoe for me. Really hope Adidas doesn't mess with this design for many years to come! P.S. Yes, yikes, they're expensive!

This is a video I've been hoping to see! Thanks!
I went to buy a pair of the SC Trainer the other day, and ended up buying the Rebel v2 for $25, and the original RC elite for $70.
I couldn't resist 2 pairs of fuel cell foam shoes for under $100.
Have you ever tried the More v4? That's probably the best NB shoe to compare I think.
I've got about 300mi on the More, it's not the Invincible, but it's a decent max cushion shoe.

Super video 👍 Adidas Prime X is my all time favorite running shoe. Personally, I think that far too many amateurs run like me, focus far too much on the weight in a pair of running shoes🤔. Instead of how much they give back. Most of us also weigh a bit more in the Elite runners 😳😁

Over 600k's later and the outsole barely has a mark on it (and I'm 14st). Even for the full price it is completely worth every penny. In fact, I've just worked out, it's cost me 3 pence per kilometre so far. So that'll reduce cos right now it feels like it'll do another 600! Great recommendation!!

Zoomx binding with the upper comes off like a band-aid in hot humid weather. Based on my past experiences the local nike guy advised me to wait and see. They got a lot of returns on the first 2 iterations. Nimbus 25 is perfect for slow long runs on tired legs on varied surfaces. Superb lockdown with an amazing upper.

Have owned all 4. In order for my running style from best to worst I'd rank them Adidas/New Balance/Nike/Asics. For walking/casual I'd have Nike/New Balance/Adidas/Asics. I still have the Adidas for my longer runs and the Nike for casual only.
I'd have kept the New Balance but the upper dug into my ankle. I hope they come out with more colour variants for the mk2.
Didn't get along with the Asics. I felt like my big toe was touching the floor when walking!
Need more colours for the Nike to come out over the summer. A triple white would be good, or maybe a Nike ID by you. My ideal casual shoe would be to have the Adidas upper, lower the stack height to 40mm and 30mm, remove the rods and widen the heel but keep the soft and bouncy Lightstike Pro throughout.

  • @ryancrawford8042
    @ryancrawford8042 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I agree on everything less the SC trainer, but..but... perhaps the reason is I took a hobby knife and carefully removed 2 areas around the collar (slicing off not cuttting through the whole upper). I did so bc they brutally rubbed my ankle bone. Shockingly I did not damage the shoe and I find the upper fits more snuggly than the strung's on my foot. Adidas could put the nail in all of this if they would give us a shoe with a slab of just LS Pro, and another with the same slab of LS pro plus a mild plate. Not sure why they have not done so. The energy return on LS Pro feels greater than anything else on the market imo. Anyway, stellar review sir. I also appreciate the reference to panda dunks lol.

This has to be a challenging topic for anyone as the audience has many differing reasons to prefer one shoe over the other as you say in this video. I'll add that, for me, I have never experienced a shoe that so completely deals with "impact protection" as the Nike Invincible Run. It is the first shoe that allows me to sleep peacefully at night after a 3.5 to 4 mile run at age 73. I'm not going to break any records so that is not a consideration. I'm more interested in staying fit and the joy of running for exercise. You were the first to make me wonder by your words "if we're talking max cushion nothing beats" the Adidas Primex Strung. My question is IF we're talking "cushion" only is the Strung along the lines of the Invincible 2(I consider the 3 less plush)? I'm fairly certain you'll say price per pound the Invincible 2 wins or maybe you'll surprise me but, without regard to price, is the Strung competitive with the plush ride of the Invincible Run 2? I run in the desert of Arizona where rain, snow and sleet are not an issue. And I don't enjoy suffering the aftereffects of a jarring run.

Have you heard of anyone having issues with durability with the Invincible 2? I only got one run out of mine before the upper came away from the midsole (1 section next to my big toe 1 or 2cm and the outside next to my pinky toe on the other shoe where it is coming apart but is just hanging on).
I have to return them for a refund. I can't get a replacement at that price because they no longer sell them and nike only gave me a 15% discount code, so can't come close to buying the 3's. I would be worried about buying another pair of 2's not direct from nike because they may also fall apart (and then I would be stuck).

How does the Invincible 3 compare to the Infinity Run shoes? I’ve kept my Infinity Run 2’s for 2 years because I loved them so much and before them I was getting back to back injuries. We’ll with some physical therapy, changes to my running form, and Infinity Run 2’s I got back up to speed. However, I never keep a pair of shoes longer than a year and I’m starting to notice the age in the foam, definitely feeling more impact and hardness on my heel. Looking for something like the Infinity Run 2 but maybe with a little more speed to it that I can still use for distance running.

Nimbus 25 is the better version of the invincible 3. They f ed up the heel on the invincible, it dances everywhere and that is just not okay. The nimbus is tight and comfy

Nimbus 25 is an egg frying machine. My feet overheat even from walking in them. Change socks, tightness, none of it helps. The heat does not come from the upper. It comes from the insole.

    • @EDDBUD

it retails at £210. Managed to get both the nimbus 25 and superblast on discount but wanna return one, just waiting for more of the UK shoe reviewers to have their say on the superblast to help with my decision lol everyone seems to have the nimbus but not the superblast

I have a few runs in the Superblast. Very stable and fast cruiser. I don't know if I will get the Nimbus 25 now. Probably in the sale. Can't get a discount on the Nimbus 25 because they are narrow so I need them in wide..
