    That Nimbus 25 colorway would let me pick that over the Invincibles anytime. Skeptical about those FF Blast+ Eco… I think it's just a thicker version of the Nimbus lite with a gel rather than a true FF Blast+ plus found in the NB3 or Metaspeeds. Making it less bouncy.

  • @srenehan80

    I have the invincible 2 and whilst it's so so bouncy and plush it weighs far too much to be a distance shoe. ASICS have done significant work on aesthetics and the Nimbus 25 is by far a visual winner... Nike need to keep their focus on lightweight, aesthetically pleasing shoes.

    I have been using many ultra boost shoes for years. Invincible is very unstable for me since i am heavy. Nimbus 25 is more stable and feels similar to ultra boost. If you like stable shoe,nimbus 25 is better. If you don't mind unstable and prefer softer cushion,invincible is for you.

    Invincible didn't suit me. First the outsole was slippy in the rain (rains often where I am throughout the year) like I'm on ice skates no kidding! Next a hotspot below my big toe that annoyed me. Thirdly heel slippage for I have skinny heels triangle shaped foot only asics is suitable. I'm trying to decide between Novablast 3 TR and Nimbus 25 as my next shoe. Right now running in kinsei blast which is supportive and just right fit overall but want something softer plushier to rotate with.

    In your opinion how much does the runners weight have an impact on which shoe would feel best? Maybe the softness of the Invincible would be more beneficial for heavier runners?
    Great review as always!

    • @AlexFilitti
      @AlexFilitti  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@AlexFilitti bad advice. The nimbus foam would compress more and bottom out for heavier runners as it’s not as firm as the invincible..Heavy runners over 200lb should stick with something more firmer as the invincible 3 because as the shoe breaks in, they will become comfortable and mold to their foot.

  • @ABucc
    @ABucc ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I don't know why they keep comparing these two shoes. Just by the weight alone, should tell you that the Nimbus is the better shoe. There is no reason why any shoe should be as heavy as the Invincible 3.

    • @gifffinley9865
      @gifffinley9865 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the shoes weigh the same. I own both and in the size that fits me in both shoes they are both 11.2oz (using my food scale). I have an M11 in the Nimbus 25 and a M10.5 in the Invincible 3. I will give it to you though that the M11 Invincible 3 weighs 11.5 oz so it is heavier but it is a bigger shoe than the size 11 nimbus 25.

    i've try both, and IMO (i'm 64kg, so those shoes and not good for my run) invincible is better also if you have to do some intervall session in long runs. Like today, in my 13km run, at easy pace (4:40/km) i run 4:40 flat and the last 3km (1km 4:30- 1km 4:15- 500m 4:05- 500m 3:50) was responsive and fast. Nimbus in a similar workout, was too stiff and not so responsive. You have gel in the back of the shoes (useless for midfoot stride) and the midsole is not so "bouncy" as the invincible. I had the same sen. in the novablast 3

      I have no lace bite whatsoever on the Nimbus. It’s the first and only max cushion shoe I’ve had, and I bought it for slow, easy LR’s and recovery only. Whatever one can say about it, the upper is the most comfortable I’ve ever put on my feet.

      Interesting. I only have experience with the first version, but I do not only find them soft and bouncy, they pick up the pace very well for me. I haven't had another shoe that felt as special in the same category. But, as with most of my running shoes, they are too soft to walk around in.

    Without a doubt I will buy the Nike Invincible 3, for several reasons.
    1. They are cheaper and have a fair price compared to Asics.
    2. I do not like very comfortable shoes that do not give me extra speed, as I call asics Nimbus 25
    3. Asics cheated with Novablast 3, in fact it should have been Superblast, this Novablast 3.
    So NO Asics!
