The demon spider arc is something I can watch over and over again. The fight between Tanjiro & Nezuko vs Rui is completely amazing and so beautiful. I always get chills every time I see the transition of the 10th water breathing form to the Kagura Dance. The music for that scene is just so *chefs kiss*
even that dance feels soooo fucking satisfying man really loved that part.
For me, it's better than Mugen train arc.

What I love about it, is that it is the typical ass pull that usually happens in shonen, yet most people don't care because it's was so damn satisfying.
That's what I love about Demon Slayer. Its familiar, yet enticing. It feels easy to get into as someone who watched quite a but of shonem, yet it doesn't feel boring since there's a lot of intriguing stuff, and excellent story telling.
Its a perfect gateway into Shonen. I does the tropes you would expect, yet shows why they were so popular to begin with.
If you want to introduced someone to Shonen, show them Demon Slayer, and they will love it. They aren't worn out on the overused tropes by that point, and can experience the best if them.
It's damn good, but I still feel like the whole "Rui decapitated himself" thing was absolute bullshit. All that to get ruined by a total asspull.

My favourite scene has to be with the spider mother when she knows she can't do it anymore and Tanjiro kills her in the most painless way he can and she just accepts it. The rain that falls on her, her smile. It was truly breath taking for me

I know it's been 5 months, but I fully agree. Zenitsu is a master class in writing a character that is stupidly OP, but has his power gated by self doubt, along with a mechanism to draw it out in moments of crisis.

I think probably part of the charm of Nezuko is that she's also a big sister, she was the next sibling from Tanjiro, and since she does have the strenght they both take care of each other, they're a team even if Tanjiro is protectivr lf her and she depends on him from time to time, because of her strenght but also because she did have a similar responsability from him with their younger siblings

Thats kinda the reason why I don't like the ending of the manga, Nezuko isn't in the fight, Like don't get me wrong it is still good and I think the anime will make it even more amazing, but This theme you said was the reason I watched Demon Slayer, Siblings that care about each other and whats to be there for them ( No incest shut up) with Nezuko absent from the final fight It took the magic away from me, I can't wait for the rest to be animated though, and If I would change one thing from the manga to the anime, it would be this.

Fight scenes are and can be much better in anime.
I love how Demon Slayer avoids the whole "main character wins every time" situation, in spite of the fact he really DOES win almost every time, by simply... not making it feel like a win. Yes, he defeats the demon. He succeeds, the demon loses. But he doesn't WIN. It's hard to say that killing a living being with their own motivations and tragic past is really a 'win.' And it emphasizes that really well after each fight. So, you don't get tired of it. You don't feel like he's overpowered even if he really may be. It just feels like he's surviving.
if you like this aspect, you might REALLY like Re Zero. (This and demon slayer surprised me)
Plus, tanjiro didnt actually beat rui, tanjiro would of been killed if giyuu didnt show up

Honestly...i dont even think the scenes cost as much as people think. Ufotable is so adept at CGI that even what could be perceived as 2D could in fact be 3D and saving this studio a ton on production costs (since 3D animation is much easier to produce than 2D)
@@MrEvldreamr Well 3D is cheaper than 2D if they are both the same quality. But many animation companies take a lot of shortcuts, and stuff that make 2D cheaper in most cases.

what makes this more cool is that, this scene takes place after the insect hashira told a theory why people have their life flash before their eyes is that its an attempt of the brain to avoid death by looking throught their past memories. And at this time that Tanjiro is going to die and this flash of memory saved him

@@rahulkulk745 little slow the first 4 or 5 episodes but it was plot and character building so I’ll allow it. Ever since daki vs tanjiro each episode has been topping one after the other the last 2 were literally some of the best anime ive ever seen. I’m so glad attack on titan is ending so demon slayer can start snatching awards up like it deserves.
For me it was the scene when Nezoku speaks and uses her demon art. It completely took me by surprise and it was timed perfectly. The way they connected the siblings and showed how they empower each other. All of that combined with the stellar music, stunning visuals and touching story was overwhelming to the senses and it all came to a head to create one of the most memorable scenes in anime I've ever scene. And most importantly it felt earned.
Yeah she talks and then they leave the muzzle on her for the next 6 episodes 😂😂 timing was incredible tho

@@yunmis1300 If you think about it, both characters have an enormous rival complex based on their upbringing. Inosuke raised himself in the wild where survival of the fittest reigns supreme, and Bakugo was raised in a society where heroes are encouraged, but merit doesn't actually matter as much as power and popularity. I'd make the case that while Bakugo has a more complex reason for his actions, Inosuke was executed better. The reason is that we see a progression based on an ambition to be more than he currently is, which is kind of the whole point of having a rival to begin with. Bakugo has this characteristic in spades...as of season 3. It isn't even alluded to before that, and yet at the end of s3, we're led to believe that was his motivation all along. I can respect not having your character improve immediately, because it leaves more time for development, and makes any redemption arc feel earned, and for the most part, BNHA handles its characters exceptionally well. However, this to me is one area where My Hero clearly misstepped and Demon-Slayer more than delivered, despite the difference in allotted time.

Is that what I like on this anime, Nezuko isn't a damsel in distress, like other animes does when they have female character,in other animes those female character can buy some time but most of the times are saved by the male character, not Nezuko and the she is cute also help,like you said "She is so cute but actually more OP than the MC" although i don't think she's better than the MC, they need each other.

@@simcosimpai8471 well his first demon kill is also just an assist since he waited for the sun to come out and that's when he started really feeling bad for demons and his first kill too had a spirit call out to him and it made him feel sad for a kid who killed her own brother because she became a demon, and even if they are serial murderers you have to realize that they were forced to be one by circumstance, they practically turned into predatory or cannibalistic humans because of some curse that most of them would really rather not have or just die because now they lost something and are now trying to get it back (ahem rui).
It's like having a mental issue and from what i've seen in the anime and manga most of the demons do (and just like what Nezuko shows it can be slihhtly fixed) and the ones that don't are usually the sadistic upper demon moons and even they sometimes have sad stories.

I'm all for sympathetic villains but demons usually are actively harming innocents , they're also shown to be able to survive for a long time without eating ( selection demons and the dudes that only eats teen girls) , so whatever murder they commit should be inexcusable. Can't they just wait for "bad" people to show up ? or is it that they don't have enough "will to do good" ? Every bit of characterisation that goes into them paints them in the worst light possible until they die and we're supposed to feel bad. A sad short flashback is not enough to earn my sympathy and a sad smell should'nt be enough to earn Tanjiro's.
Honestly, this has been the only anime lately that had me wanting more episodes to binge watch. It was a work of art, and as cute and adorable as Nezuko is, Tanjiro truly is the character that had me hooked to the show.

Its been stated a couple of times in a couple different ways, yet I still feel its horribly understated.
The reason why Demon Slayer, or more accurately Tanjiro and Nezuko captured our hearts so quickly is simple in the extreme.
They're just good people.
So many protagonists and stories focus on "broken people" or "flawed people striving against horrible odds and making mistakes".
Now these characters can be great, and form the basis of incredible story telling, but at the end of the day modern media, both western and eastern, seems to have forgotten that at the end of the day, people want the "Good Guys" win!
Is it so hard to occasionally have honest to god Good people fighting against, and beating, the Bad guys?
Theres so many ways this show proves that such a simple concept does not need to be boring as well, Nezuko conquers her Demon LITERALLY, because she adores and loves her brother and family. She doesn't blame him for not being there, he doesn't blame her for surviving when the others didn't, they're just grateful to have have a loyal, loving shoulder to rely on. They beat the odds because they're family.
Its a beautiful thing that all humans desperately long for.

They only barely found out their connection through Rengoku's father, and even then, he didn't learn that much.

Why i love this show:
1. Tanjiro is a perfect blend of a strong main character with the balance of wit, talent, hardwork, emotion and depth.
His simple motivation to protect and help addded to his personality while he accepts the reality of his situation and tries his best to fight it.the way he worries how he would one day grow old but nezuko would be alone and so he must turn her back hit me hard.
2.Nezuko , relevant , precious and worth protecting is also a badass who helps her brother when he needs it and pushes herself to the limit to go beyond when she must. She doesn't confine to the role of little sister and adds personality without even using words.
3. Inosuke and zenistsu are not so fleshed out yet but they have unexplored potential and room to grow. The writer was not careless with them, their personalities are the way they are to serve a purpose in the story besides comic relief.
4. The demon world is like the underbelly of a normal looking world. The time period,the way people lived and the tools of survival -its all part of a well thought out plot and easy enough to follow.
5. Love how Tsuyuri becomes a challenge for them to catch up to. Guys catching up to the girl is a refreshing change but in being badass,she isn't already perfect but is lacking in some ways that Tanjiro helps her with.
5. Michael Jackson being the smooth criminal. Mysterious and sinister,he stands apart from all demons with his sophistication.
Shonen tropes done better makes one hell of a show.
Megha Sharma Tanjiro imo seems too perfect. Smart, powerful, quick learner, Strong willed. I can’t relate to him in any way. That’s really my only complaint about Demon Slayer anyway, but if I can’t connect to the main character in some sort of way it makes it hard to be excited to see him show up. Maybe he was just a pillar for everyone else, so.

Danny yep. If we were compare Tanjiro to say, Deku from MHA, you could tell Deku is a more realistic character. Deku is strong willed, clever, and hard working. But socially inept, gives in to fear, and can panic when he loses control over a situation. These strengths and weaknesses often shift which makes the character unpredictable in certain parts, although very rarely.

I didnt really know a girl that well but she hung with my group. I asked her if shes seen demon slayer and she said yes. At this moment i didnt finish the season. This show definitely does an amazing job of making you care about a character in such a short amount of time. I honestly don’t think any other anime could get away with doing the same backstory thing with each demon after their defeated and it work and not only work but get better and better each time it’s done. This anime, IMO of course, does so many things that should be considered wrong and a negative when looking back on it, but somehow Demon Slayer makes it work. Love it! 👺👹

Personally, my favorite part of that last scene was he technically didn’t even win. The demon managed to cut off his own head before Tanjiro could, and since the attack left him immobile, he would have died if Timokio hadn’t shown up. It shows that even though he’s obviously the main character, Tanjiro isn’t ridiculously overpowered, and he still has a long way to go.
Agreed. It’s shows that he isn’t even close to the strength of a Hashira and he still needs to train. I remember when he first met Muzan and now looking back, Tanjiro would have been dead 5 seconds after he pulled out his sword during their first confrontation.
I just like the fact that first of all it's realistic yeah main character loses sometimes. But second, THE VILLAIN FOR ONCE WAS ACTUALLY BIG BRAIN AND CAME OUT ON TOP

The thing is that I'm pretty shure the JOJO-refrence is intentional. There is a demon later who sticks his finger in his head the same way as DIO, so it's quite possible the mangaka was inspiered by hamon.

The thing that I really liked about this show was that in the famous episode 19 ending, when Tanjiro cuts through rui's head and the flashbacks come, it's not a U WIN card. the attack completely fails and Giyu is the one that kills rui, as Tanjiro still has a long way to go in his form of training. Its so realistic as a person can't just have a meaningful moment and just become a god in 2 seconds such as in naruto when naruto gives a passionate speech and he just automatically wins. This anime is so real and I love it

This is one of the things that sets this writing apart from other stories out there. The protagonist didn't just finish off the enemy becuse he discovered an ability so amazing because it really takes more than that, for example, it takes mastery and even more fighting maturity. Also, this establishes the fact that the enemy was taken by surprise because he was not taking Tanjiro seriously before. This also sets the power scaling consistent across the characters in their universe as well -- that the Hashiras and Muzan's minions are on a very different league compared to him.
