      @@scd Welcome to the Dark Side... bigger turbos, higher displacing motors, alternative fuels, and standalone EMS to mix direct with port injectors for said alternative fuels. The nice GT-R folks pioneered and normalized a lot of this stuff (well, 12 injector setups - those do not have DFI) over the last decade and a half, and you'll find it appearing in all of the higher-end setups (with McLaren actually being somewhat of an exception as their motors & drivelines require serious work to run as megacars).

    You can put $20k or so into that 911 and turn it into a 1000hp+ monster without opening the motor, just bolt-ons + tune. Don't believe me? There's a 991.1 car I know of that set a 8.90@157mph 1/4 mile with 145k miles on the drivetrain, engine never opened. Full weight, with drag radials. Same car hit about 190mph in the 1/2 mile. Did I mention that it has over 145k miles on it?

    • @turboslipnot
      @turboslipnot 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its a bit more than that, and probably not quite 1k awhp without popping the motor (definitely manifolds and such by then). Dealing with that much boost lag (VG turbos are gone by this point) tends to require a bit more displacement both in terms of delivering NA torque and helping the turbos spool-up; so a factory 3.8 with only 20k of mods running 1k hp is probably not very safe.

    • @ShamanWS6
      @ShamanWS6 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@turboslipnot Safer at 860whp for sure, but it's not a 20K build ... needs exhaust, plenum, piping, intercoolers, and a very expensive transmission clutch upgrade to hold that level of power. I personally wouldn't do it on a stock motor but that's not the point: it's been done.

    Let’s face it, if you are the kind of person who goes to gym a lot and is attracted to ladies based on the darkness of their fake tan then you will probably choose the McLaren and wing it because at this price point , you probably won’t pay the extra £3.5 to £5k a year for the warranty and at least that again for servicing, in which case good luck. However, if you are the kinda person who loves cars and doesn’t want to be continually hounded by people with camera phones and police officers then you will take the Porsche and you can sit back and enjoy your brilliant car worry free!

    The C8 Corvette might have both these cars beat. Its looking like its more refined than either of these cars and cost less. It also comes in RHD, At 47,000 GBP then you can forget both of these cars.

      It does not compare to them in straight line performances or track performances. It is on the level of a 991.2 Carrera GTS/992 Carrera S. But it's not in the Turbo S league. It's still a better bargain than both the Turbo S and the Mclaren 570gt though

      @@thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal2921 I'll watch it and I know that the value per money is off the charts!!! I am just saying that based on the tests that have been made (Motortrend, Road and Track and Car and Driver) the car seems to be in the league of the 992 Carrera S/991.2 Carrera GTS, not in the league of Porsche 991.2 Turbo S or Mclaren 570 GT. On a track it could be a relatively close match, but on a straight line there is too much power gap (after the 0-60 the Turbo S and the Mclaren would win, no doubt)
