- Minecraft Guide 62 is all about the best diamond armor in minecraft! Today, using the enchanting tower we built last time, we build up our set of armor to be as good as possible using the enchantments we have access to. We also do a bit of mending trading too. I do one Fire protection (pants) and one blast protection (boots) and two Protection. Since I tend to have my elytra on a lot, those too take the edge off creepers and accidental fire.
Maxing out and getting soul speed 3 for boots always seems like it's too much to be worth it but literally even just soul speed 1 gets rid of the slow down debuff so even if you set foot in the nether once its worth it to just slap the nearest soul speed book on it c: (piglins trade for them too so again literally like~)
With mending on Diamond or Netherite Armor, Thorns III.
Blast protection 4 is an absolute must for any pair of boots! You'll never have to worry about creepers again! Also, using every available protection enchant is how you get the best armor. I'm not aware of regular prot 4 stacking all that much. Certainly not enough to forgo the other protections entirely. You're crazy weak to other types of damage if you do.
The one time it's nice to have thorns is when you get swarmed with baby magma cubes. Instead of hitting you over and over again forever. They can actually die, giving you a better chance to escape.
not a fan of the new enchantment thing where only certain enchanments are avaiable only from given biomes. Particularly when two of the MOST sought enchantments are from biomes where villages never spawn naturally, requiring building a village to get a librarian...
See now that why I like because rather then standing still and breaking a block over and over to reset a villager you actually have to go on a quest to get these great enchantments
@@bighazza3470 if they had actual villages that spawned in the two specific biomes it wouldn't bother me. but we have to MAKE a village in the Swamp and Jungle to be able to get two of the most necessary enchantments in the game. Honestly, it sucks the fun out of it for me...
over the last two nights i've been trying to build a village in a nearby swamp.... but the villagers I kidnap to take over there, refuse to take a job or even a bed. they just bugger off and get raped by zombies in the swamp. i've even tried blocking them in to just a tiny house with a bed... still won't take it..
That's just a datapack option.

@timhyatt9185 I haven't tried it yet but my thought had been to relocate villagers and build a breeder to make local biome villagers, think that might get it over the block?

I think you should do a museum in the other side of the valley. This would fit perfectly! (You could place vases and memorable events that happened in your world, like the battle with the dragon for example)
I did exactly 1 trail ruin and found all the trims in it so haven't felt the need to go back. It definitely needs a reason to for players to unearth more/go in the first place.
Also, kind of hope they add in more upgrade templates besides the netherite one. Might be cool to get tool upgrade templates from trail ruins, weapon upgrades from trial chambers, and armour/shield ones from ancient cities.

I like the other shaders as they are more subtle. I love the way the fjord looks with them but everything else to me screams shaders. Great idea on the book for the enchantments!.
100% true. Ahhh thats the hard part about shaders! I love the beauty but can never decide whats maybe too much!

ps about the trail ruin question... I loved them when they where added, (mostly I just wanted the wayfinder trim, the best imo ) and I looked for a while for one, then completely excavated it and refurnished it with the glass and signs and pots I found. it was very near the sea and was in a jungle, and it was just so beautiful and peaceful, and it took a while, but I completely uncovered it. I love stuff like that away form my base because tho I haven't started a new world for 4 years doing projects thousands of blocks away gives off some good early game vibes. and for how cool and fun the mechanics are, plus how fun it is, and the nastogla factor, It became my second favorite structure. I did a second one later on id missed closer to my base because I wanted more danger shards, my favorite, but it did not get as much love, I just looted it :)
I use the complementary shaders too and enjoy ever time I’m playing

Complementary Shaders are by far my favourite. Really good balance between performance and appearance, and highly customizable
I used to use BSL shaders, but switched to complementary because they were the only emissive shaders allowed on a server i play on, and I've never gone back. Their raytracing is just 💋🤌 chefs kiss. I tried going back to BSL and they're just too desaturated and bloomy for me now, and the customization that complementary has over other packs is nuts, especially all of the new features in the new Reloaded for 1.20.4. And running on Iris with sodium on fabric has been such an improvement on my frame rates from using forge and optifine.
I got a little upgrade for your spider farm. If you put a row of trap doors on the ceiling right behind where the cabe spider's climb up it should keep them from being sent flying from the knock back.
I make sure to excavate at least one Trail Ruins per world. It's a great way of getting coarse dirt and gravel, lots of music discs and armor trims to decorate with (that's all i use em for 🤷♀), and it makes for a fun outpost/vacation getaway for whenever the creepers around the base just get too much.

Prot 4 all the way. Also, I know you knew this, but spacebar repeats the trade with the villager and restocks the trading material, way faster way of trading. Just make sure you have the goods in the inventory. Also I am enjoying the series, you rock!
Pardon, shift +space to auto restock. My muscle memory does it for me so I kinda forgot the shift :D My bad.
i got a question. Does gold trim on armor keep Piglins neutral in the nether? If not do you think it should?

Would like to have a little bit of each on my armor. Blast, projectile, and Fire on the main parts of my armor. Already working on a new pair of boots for me to get Depth Strider on them.

I will actually use thorns sometimes, because when I am in the nether, I suck at killing magma cubes at their smallest, and they just build up so much cumulative damage, that having them hit me once and die is faster and overall less damaging.

I mean if you fully dig up the trail ruin, instead of making it about the loot you can get out of it, you should make it into an archaeology excavation aesthetic megabuild to finish off the starter base
Wattles why arent you putting a chest at the end of the drop to the double spawner farm in the water? Makes it much more easier to walk in the room
Also if you spend the time to figure out the xp cost of the books if you combine them from cheapest to most expensive before puting them on your gear you'll get some saving on the amount of xp you'll need. Plus it'll only increase the enchant cost once for your gear. The enchant cost on books is solely based on the highest level enchantment on the book.
To break it down simply, combine the books first, it'll save you from it being too expensive.
You should build a house the size of your house at the cherry grove, for frodor to make up for the neglect you have caused him. It should have some sort of farm in it.

Is it still cheaper to combine enchantments on books than put everything one by one on a piece of equipment? I thought the amount of times something has been enchanted determines its cost. So if you combine things in books, it decreases the total number of times something is enchanted, thus reducing the overall cost

wattles, do you ever use frost walker? I dont think iv ever used depth strider, because I decided when I was like, 12 that frost walker was cooler, and sense iv stayed in the same world for years it hasn't really changed. but it is kinda useful. i agree with you for the no one uses llamas, witch is sad because they are actually really useful. i use them, and they can cross bdys of water with a carravan of them, and they lock one to you so they like, never lose you and you can use frostwalker to get them across the water. they are really underrated. plus frost walker makes you feel more prepared and adventuress 😌

My Netherworld armor is diamond everything with protection 4 , thorns, & mending. Obviously you want at least one thing of gold armor so i go with GOLD boots with fire protection 4, soul speed, mending, thorns and feather falling. Underwater enchantments are not really needed in the nether.
Unbreaking seems redundant if you already have mending,,but works if you do not have a librarian that offers a mending book trade or have acquired mending by luck of the draw.
Thorns - i like anything that hurts the mob when the mob attacks me, every little bit helps.
Overworld/End armor is basically what Wattles recomends. plus thorns on everything. and not gold boots
Make goat head mountain again across from the enchanting tower prefect place to look out from. Or any head monument
I use these all the times complementary shaders but not the unbound style like you're using ,but the reimagined style is for me more vannilla frendly like.😅
And yes, i like them verry much i was always a fan of complementary shaders.

It’s way cheaper to combine the books first, and to put the single-level enchants on the books with ones like protection IV, and then only apply to the armor, tool, weapon at the end.

I really love them but I can't find most of them. :c ps, as for the game question from last episode, at 15, I really have never played anything but minecraft ever, (strict parents lol X3 ) but I have played a little platform about a year ago I discovered called dadish (the franchise includes dadish 2, 3, and daily dadish a daily level thing :). Its basically about a little kawaii radish who is a dad of little baby radishes and they wander off and he has to find them, while evading fast food enemies and strange bosses, and with funny little parent child conversions at the end of each level, dadish is satisfying cute, and fun to play. Would recommend :)

I don't put soul speed on my diamond boots. I use gold boots in nether with soul speed ,feather falling, fire protection and mending. That's my gold item to keep the natives happy.
If you wanna enchant with books, combine the books (only two with each other at a time) and then join it with the tool or armour through the anvil. This will cost you less experience.
Efficiency V isn’t actually needed on the shovel, as it instamines pretty much everything except mud roots. But hey, who am I kidding, who wants to stay at measly Efficiency IV? Great video wattles :)
I excavated an ancient ruin once on a server, and made a build out of it. Then I never touched them again, lol. I don't care much for armour trims. The new pots are nice but I just use the plain ones without the decorations on them.

Make sure you’re at level 38 on xp for each diamond piece you want to enchant. Enchant one then go get back to level 38 then go enchant next diamond item.
I prefer the other shaders, I think, they were a little less harsh. But the BIG question here is… what does the S in “Wattles S. Wattles” stand for??
wattles wattles I thought you knew. With how smart you are with Minecraft you missed one of the key things when using anvils. The reason the "to expensive" thing pops up sometimes is because you can only update an item in an anvil like 6 times(it might be 8). You combine all the books and then you add that single book with all the enchantments to your item. It is also cheaper in levels that way. Other than that its another amazing wattles video. Now for the shaders, I love the new ones but it might be a little to realistic if you know what I mean, it doesnt even feel like I'm watching a Minecraft video, but it does look nice. One last thing, would it be possible that we would get a new enchant in minecraft 1.21? Personally it makes sense. Recently if you racall they made it that different enchantments are found most commonly in certain structures and with the new vault it would only make sense that they would add a new enchantment to the trial chambers to. Also have you noticed how many enchants you can get from the vault. Please give me feedback your my fav youtuber
I believe that efficiency 4 on a shovel will already insta mine everything that a shovel is used for... Did not need to combine the shovels to get eff 5, unless its for the flex like silentsweeper says
If you are Ancient City bound, exploring with flocks of chickens is both hilarious and very handy.

@@wattlesplays I basically setup a chicken farm high up above a large ancient city that dispenses the eggs down into the cavern. They trigger the sensors (so you can find them), but won't set off the shriekers. Bring some seeds and you have a noisy Ancient City field trip.

Wattles, you wasted 11 levels on efficiency five. You can instamine dirt with efficiency four on a diamond shovel.
i build fishing ponds by my xp farms to get more xp, fish, and loot while waiting.
@wattles > Why not trade paper with your villagers for XP? I use villager trades for my XP almost exclusively and routinely end up with level 50 or higher to be able to use.
I need a website that shows the best order to enchant armor without hitting the level cost cap.

How can you get alot of enchantments if your bookshelf are small you need 33 bookshelf so you can get alot of enchantments in one item but sometimes are not.

Tbh, I completely disagree that having prot 4 on everything is best. The worst damage dealers do not deal regular damage. And since I learned that the feet are particularly weak to blast damage, blast prot 4 is a must for any pair of boots. The other 3 don't seem to have a "best gear slot" if you will, but given how bad you are with shields, I highly recommend getting projectile prot 4 on something. 😜😘
Having one each of the different protections is how you get the best armor. I am an absolute tank in Minecraft. Don't even notice right away when getting attacked half the time. The only mobs that can deal me any serious damage are hoglins, the warden and guardians.
Personally I think the enchantment table is a rip off given that it doesn't take much for you to create a building of librarian villagers with all the enchantments you could possibly want.
I could imagine how long it would take to get these enchantments
