My game has been working so far it crashed twice but then it let me in to the event menu. I guess I'm lucky! But I think you should do the nautical furniture pack. The clothes to me aren't very nice but I really like the nursery furniture.
It happened to me twice all you have to do is do the daily goals and suport tasks at the same time like after you finish a daily goal do one support task everyday until you finish then you can finish the rest of the support tasks if you have anymore questions ask me i might be able to help :)

no it won't affect anything for you. The pregnancy quest - Bump-y Ride starts as soon as your maternity store is built and the 9 day event is part of that quest.
