    Thanks Jared. With the skylight tool, you suggest creating a lining for the inner roof by using the shell tool, with the skylight placed on the outer roof. Have you tried simply placing the archicad Simple Skylight Opening in the outer roof instead, which creates a simple rectangular hole say 6 inches wider all round than the skylight. Then place the skylight on the inner roof. This solves the lining issue, allowing you to easily experiment with perpendicular or horizontal / vertical lining angles at skylight head and sill, and it looks more convincing from the outside allowing you to consider waterproofing around the tiling.

      I have. That definitely works in some, but not all instances. I assume there's a void between the sheathing and gyp board when modeling--i model the structure as beams and typically don't add insulation until later.
