Yep guess the fisherman for all these years had something others could use - we have gradually improved the approach and getting compostable products was and us another improvement
Stew and Jane You s have to visit Achill Island where there is a great space to park then you must come NorthIreland to the north coast and Beautiful beaches. Sally Northern Ireland
I love your videos Mandy! They are real life! Since I started living in my van i came to realise that plans are made to be changed! 😅 I now have intentions rather than plans... It always work... Almost.. This is why i love vanlife!
@@getawaygeese i am not sure how i managed this but on that day all my comments went to the wrong vlog... I was watching in series they were feeding automatically. I woukd stop to write a comment for the last video but they all went to the next video... I must have been in a brain fog... I do love yours and Stu's videos as well for the same reasons
We thought that had happened 😂 I see you are full time now. Am I right in thinking that you weren’t full time to begin with (from your early comments) ? If so I hope you are loving it ☺️ jane
@@getawaygeese I am indeed fulltime, I went straight to vanlife after a no fault eviction from my rented cottage. I knew nothing about vanlife!! I enjoy it very much.
Thanks for not doing a live demo! Always good to talk toilets. Useful for people to know. We are going much more towards bagging and binning. And bottles. Beats having to find black waste disposal points all the time 👍
Took us 3 years to make the transition ( wrong word lol ) we are still evolving and only recently thought about the plastic etc but think we are there now - - thanks for watching
Hi Stewart and Jane. Thank you so much for this really helpful, frank video about the bivvy loo. We bought one but still haven't braved using it yet - this video will really help us. Big question though - I know you struggled with general refuse bins in Ireland. Are there plenty of readily available dog poo bins which one can use for bivvy loo bags? Thanks for your help and happy travels. Best wishes Nicky and Tim
Bins in general are a challenge in Ireland - we finally realised the easiest was to use the main waste facilities around Ireland where you do have to pay to dispose of a large bag at 5 euros We did see some dog buns but I think pet waste in Ireland if you google they just say to put it in bins I guess no different to nappies as long as it’s bagged Hoped that helps
It sounds basic but actually it’s cleaner in many ways but as I mentioned before if someone told me this 4 years ago when we started we would of run a mile
Yes agree but we have worked to ensure they are all compostable and bio degradable - we think ( maybe wrong ) but better than chemicals approach - appreciate you watching and commenting
Oh wow that’s going to be fantastic good luck - quick question if I may have you put on any different tyres as we are thinking of changing as they are due soon
Hello, we've just bought a Bivvy Loo having seen #Lifeistooshort recommendation. I've watched your video to learn how to set it up and pack away, very useful tips, particularly to avoid damaging the base. We've got an unused PortaPotti 335, never been keen to use it, even on a campsite where they have waste facilities for chemical loos, so pleased to have the peace of mind with the new Bivvy Loo on board. Will now start watching your back catalogue. Love #Lifeistooshorts new campervan and #Weebrunvan😄🚐❤️
Well done and good luck we’re still using ours and is liberating in many ways We have now source eco friendly bio degradable sous vide bags and tape Thanks for watching and hope you like our videos - the old ones are a bit rough but the last 2 years has seen I hope a marked improvement
Thanks! Straightforward and useful, not to mention concise!
Well I guess it is what it is lol thanks for watching
We’ve now tried your sous vide bag method and can confirm it works very well so thanks for that tip 🙂👍
Good we have nos found some compostable ones but not tested yet - will keep you informed
Great solution for a small van or tent. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Yep guess the fisherman for all these years had something others could use - we have gradually improved the approach and getting compostable products was and us another improvement
Looks good enough to keep your hands warm in winter.😊😊😊
Lol
An excellent solution. Take care Gill
Thanks for watching

Yes we are planning to do the north probably next year now we think but absolutely want to see all of Ireland as we enjoyed it so much

Mandy ? But I get your sentiments - change is the only constant

Mind you I think Mandy quite suits Stew if Im honest 😂😉 jane

Hi Stewart and Jane. Thank you so much for this really helpful, frank video about the bivvy loo.

Hoped that helps
Can see this works well, the down side is the sheer amount of plastic being used
Yep we put in the description the biodegradable plastic we have now moved to as we managed to source alternatives
@@getawaygeese ah good to hear, apols didnt spot that 🙏
No worries to be honest we have only recently found options so we have evolved it
Good vid that, we use Bio Bags in the caravan and that stops the chemical loo getting to pongy 💨😉
Not heard of those will take a look - thanks for watching
Good old gaffer tape 😮
I know a must for the tool kit lol thanks for watching
Lost our dog (passed away) and her little winter warmers,
Sorry to hear that
Simple bucket and chuck it in a loo first chance
That’s one way
Having to go with the dog watching you though, must take getting used to! 👀
We don’t have a dog but it is as factor to consider
When you've got to go you've got to go. So it's nice to have somewhere handy rather than dig a hole in the bushes.
It sounds basic but actually it’s cleaner in many ways but as I mentioned before if someone told me this 4 years ago when we started we would of run a mile
Very practical but that’s a lot of plastic!

Haha exactly the same as we do 😂
Affirmation were not mad lol thanks for watching
No your not mad lol. We also have an 11 month old autocampers van and are off to the Artic for three months on Saturday 😊
Oh wow that’s going to be fantastic good luck - quick question if I may have you put on any different tyres as we are thinking of changing as they are due soon
No, we haven't, but we have two sets of snow chain's, but we won't need on this trip.
Sounds a real adventure good luck I am sure you will love it
Sorry TMI , I'm a bit squeamish. Not for me. Each to their own. 😮😮 ❤
Absolutely 4 years ago Jane would of absolutely not engaged in it now she feels good about our approach and less stress but it’s a personal decision
@@getawaygeese Perhaps I should relax & take it in my stride ! 😀❤
Well it took us a while to get our head round but Ken and Carol were quite pivotal in us changing - no smell from chemicals etc
