Tasty CURRIED CHICKEN with PIGEON/GUNGO PEAS

- In this video, I share my simple & tasty recipe for Curried Chicken with Pigeon Peas! I learned this by watching the best cook I know, my mom! I'm happy to share this recipe with you today. Happy cooking!
Ingredients-
• 4 ½ lb chicken- roasted, cut, cleaned and washed with white vinegar/flour/lime/lemon
• 4 teaspoons of salt
• 2 teaspoon of black pepper
• ½ cup of Caribbean green seasoning
• 3-5 curry/karipillay leaves
• 1 ½ tablespoons of oil
• 1 onion, chopped
• 10-15 cloves of garlic, minced
• Hot peppers and seasoning peppers (your preference)
• 4-6 sprigs of thyme
• 1 ½ tablespoons of curry powder + 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder + 2 teaspoons of roasted ground geera + 2 teaspoons of black amchar masala
• 1 14 oz package (1 ¾ cups) of frozen pigeon peas (or fresh if you have access to it), boiled for 15 minutes
• 2-3 cups of boiling water to make the sauce
• 2-3 chive, scallions or green onion, chopped
• ¼ cup of cilantro, chopped

Girl I luv shelling peas, I does get excited when I see the red peas, yes an I does scream too when I see the worm lol, I was thinking wat to cook to carry for my sister tmrw , tis is an awesome idea, plus I’ve had carry chicken in a while an next mth I wanna start to fast so I’ll make enough an eat meh belly full , I’ll make tis for sure , tis looks heavenly an was taste awesome eating with your fingers 😋, I like my food to cook down but not cold

I love peas, could eat it everyday. My grandparents used to plant peas to sell and oh gosh them little worms used to get me 😖, nothing is better than fresh peas but these days I find myself using frozen peas most times as well

I love the enamel showcase and too remember shelling peas and finding fat worms. Do this day I don’t want to eat closed peas like snap peas or anything lol eating with hands like a true Indian 😊

A dried spices company in Trinidad came out with packaged Pimento Flakes. I haven't tried it yet ('cus I have the real thing 😉) but it could be a good alternative when it gets to Florida.

For this specific dish, I love it the next day too! The peas gets to soak in that curry sauce. The clip at the end where the peas looks darker, was filmed the next day.

Great video resh as always. I don't mind the frozen peas but kill mummy dead she only want the fresh ones. And she will sit for hours and shell peas not me half an hour for the most and I out.
