Angels cry when they hear Floor perform that song. The fact that it is now part of the regular setlist and they perform it at every concert is just beyond words.

This was recorded live by a French-German broadcasting station. The have switched these cameras on the spot and were likely not aware of who is prominent during which part of the song. Nightwish was one of many concert they streamed on this day.
Also Ghost Love Score when she does all those short solo pieces. She holds at least five of them for almost 16 seconds and she had been singing and performing for over an hour when this song came up in the setlist! Incredible breath holding!!! Wasn't the GLS setllist around 90 minutes?
Saw them twice in Los Angeles for the last dates in the States. Noise was the opening song. Fantastic. As was the whole concert. This one of the three grand finale songs. You have to see them live to experience everything they are.
Can you imagine ... just imagine ... having a composition written for you, about you, in this magnificence? And performed at this level of excellence? Honestly, Gene Shoemaker has an urn on the moon with Shakespeare engraved on it, and this song performed by the most perfect band on the planet, and written by the most incredible composer alive. That guitar solo was done by Troy with his EBow. Even more reason to show him. This is an editor's choice. he's working with multiple camera angles and chooses the one he wants to use at any point in time.
If I were Nigihtwish, I wouldn't even have that video out in the open! The band is spectacular, as always, but the video registration is even unworthy of being an amateur registration! It looks like it's a fan video, centered on Floor (I absolutely agree to your surprise that Troy wasn't in the video at all!)!
You need to go back to the virtual tour and watch Floor to that part you really liked at the end. It was truly amazing. Maybe because it's because it's a smaller space.
Shoemaker is a NW classic already. And this Hellfest version is just stellar! One thing I keep wondering abt are the lyrics at the start, "Now you've been tucked in for eternal earthrise and wonder".. Beautiful evocative lines. One small thing tho.. Earth as viewed from the surface of the Moon would appear to be suspended in the lunar sky, since in the Earth-Moon system, the Moon is phase-locked with Earth. To my - admittedly limited - understanding, that would mean: no "earthrise". If Shoemaker's remains had been in perpetual lunar orbit, then yes. Of course, there's always "poetic license", but still.
Wow. What a reaction to this amazing, wonderful, incredible performance. Favorite version indeed. Floor is Floor. And her spectacular use of her body expanding into that last chorus amplified the vocals. Dear Lord, but she is a Valkyrie queen. Thank you for continuing to react to songs from this show that is just over two weeks old. I keep hoping for an official release of video from their closeout 10:30 to midnight show at Masters of Rock 2022 festival last Sunday, but so far only crappy fan cellphone videos. Fingers crossed that Nightwish is only working on remastering the performance so that it is completely right upon release. Nevertheless, I loved the sunset Hellfest 2022 show. Keep up the great work.
Great reaction to an amazing song! I'm pretty sure the guitar solo was Troy using his E-bow. Better camera work would have helped. But the big payoff is the operatic ending. The entire audience was spellbound. So cool to see that live! Thanks!
Shoemaker live is amazing :) just experienced it nearly 2 weeks ago in Nîmes- which was after Hellfest. And the Nîmes version was even better than the Hellfest version, well, ok, in Nîmes I was there live and not in front of an mobile device ^^
She held that last note for almost 10 seconds? That’s nothing, even for this very show. Ever Dream ended with a 13-second belt and the postlude, Ad Astra, ended the show with a 17-second note!
As some people already said, this note isn't long for Floor😅 She hold the last note (belt) of the whole Hellfest consert for about 17 seconds. They had a show in Nimes after Hellfest where she hold that last belt to the very end of the Ad Astra, which is her record for holding a note so far.
They didn´t have their own full production so camerawork and mixing was below average, not even close to Wacken/Tampere/Wembley/Buenos Aires level. Bands performance was good. Shoemaker is definitely masterpiece. Power of Tuomas Holopainen - first masterpiece 1998, latest 2020. Once-in-a-century type composer and generation talent singer in a same band is quite a combination.
Agreed. Performance-wise, it's absolutely top notch, but production-wise, it falls a bit short. It's great for a streamed show, but well below what you'd get from something shot and produced for a DVD. I wish they'd at least remaster it to put Floor higher in the mix.

I had the impression that in registrations of latest concerts the orchestra and choir are easier to hear than on Wacken, Tempere or Decades/Buenos Aires, and I love that more complete sound panorama
The recording is mixed live and the people on the podium are from the festival and don't always know what's important. For live albums, this can still be improved in the studio. Not here.
AND i can allready tell you .... Floor is a goddes BUT even the great on this planet and beyound make mistakes. Find online the lyrics and listen again , she sings the first two parts twice , I think she finds this a difficult text to remember because she has sung it wrong a number of times in live performances
What you say is all very true. You listen to it on the album and think, "How can they do this live?", while knowing that they can - she can. Its a classic case of Nightwish cognitive dissonance.
Fantastic reaction, when I heard the studio version I already thought, wow this will be amazing live. Pinkpop version a few days before this (hearing and feeling it live in the Netherlands) was great, but the entire Hellfest set the playlist is better, the sound is better, Floor is better (the rest of the band is standard high quality) only the camerawork sucks. (All of Hellfest btw) Your questions why they don’t show Emmpu and Troy are so true and normal. Rubish amature work. You dat it’s your favourite version
Very poor decisions by the editor in terms of what they decided to show. There are obviously multiple cameras - some controlled remotely, some operated by cameramen - but the editor is deciding what we see and not doing a good job. This was streamed live so has not been post-edited. To be a little farmer to the editor (or producer), they are having to make snap decisions without intimately knowing the music (I would guess). Troy is playing the solo on his PRS using an Ebow. You can actually see Emppu playing the riff at the bottom of the fretboard.

That moment was spectacular live. They turned off all the lights and Floor had this ethereal spotlight on her. It was magical.

My biggest complaint with this show is the camera crew…they were pretty much unaware that Troy even existed through most of the concert.

Hellfest did a better job than I expected and certainly better than the Bloodstock and Wacken 2018 recordings I've seen though,
