  • DIY fitting of front and rear mudguards/mudflaps on 2018 Nissan Leaf.
    I've had mudguards for a while, just waiting for good weather to be able to fit them.
    Fitting is pretty easy, apart from when I started I didn't have the correct size socket for my wheel wrench to remove the wheel bolts. At first I thought that there were caps on the bolts, which is why you see me using pliers to try and remove what I thought were the caps. The correct size socket is 21mm. I bought this from Halfords for about £7.
    They cost £120 from a Nissan dealer from their eBay shop. This is the listing for black, www.ebay.co.uk....
    Since I bought them though, there are other listings for the same genuine Nissan parts from £96.
    From Glyn Hopkin, www.glynhopkinp..., they are actually £171, but with premium shipping are closer to £180.
    The official part numbers are as follows (paint code in brackets):
    • Solid White (326) KE7885SH0A
    • Brown Metallic (CAN) KE7885SH0B
    • Grey Metallic (KAD) KE7885SH0C
    • Greenish Silver (KBR) KE7885SH0D
    • Silver Metallic (KYO) KE7885SH0E
    • Red Pearl (NAJ) KE7885SH1A
    • White Pearl (QAB) KE7885SH1B
    • Red Brisk (Z10) KE7885SH1C
    • Black Pearl (Z11) KE7885SH1D

    Thanks for posting. I was looking for affirmation I could install these myself, and your video convinced me.

    The Leaf should come with these as standard. In fact all cars should.

    Thanks great video. I have ordered the mud flaps from my local Nissan agent who says they are on back order and could be some months. So I’m going to be looking for some explanations later.

      Sorry to hear that, must be a popular addition to the car. Plenty on eBay from Nissan dealers though. Might even save a few quid. Thanks for watching!

      It’s a great video ! I want to buy full set of mudguards for my 2020 Leaf too , would you please tell me where I can buy mudguards and can be mail / deliver to Hong Kong ? Thank you so much 🙏🙏

      Your Nissan dealer might be the best place in HK. Otherwise, use the part numbers in the video comments to source your own on eBay.
      Thanks for watching.

    Great video! I fitted mudflats to our recently bought 2020 leaf. Strangely when I undid the screws I noticed that the rear of the wing panel was full of dirt and dead leaves! I hooked it all out, but how did that get in there?! Wonder if anyone has found similar or in its previous life our leaf was used for some green laneing!! 😂

    Thank you for a well presented video. How effective are these "mud flaps"? They only seem to add an inch or so in length. I am a little sceptical as to their effectiveness. I look forward to your observations of how they actually perform. I would consider fitting them to my car if they work well.

      The weather has been good lately, so can't comment on effectiveness just yet. Next time I wash the car, I'll see how long it stays clean down the flanks. 👍🏻

      I installed these on my 24kWh Leaf and they are great. They come out as far as the width of the tyre and stop the tyre from flicking up muddy water along the side of the bodywork. I am just in the process of installing them on my 40kWh Leaf and hope that they are equally effective.

    It seems black and white are easy to find but grey metallic are not available as of yet. So I wait in hope rather than expectation

    So are the mud guards effective. My leaf especially in the boot area is always full of dirt when I drive in rainy days. How do you compare with the mud guards?

      They're not great, but I couldn't find a better alternative. The dirt is reduced though but not by a significant amount.

    Hello, nice video. Are you using the old screws for the front mud flaps or are they provided in the box

    • @RSThinks
      @RSThinks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there were new screws in the kit. They are slightly longer than the original ones.

    Great video was the rear fender plastic or metal?

    • @RSThinks
      @RSThinks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are referring to the part I think you are, then it's plastic.

    Pretty poor design, why do both of them have massive voids that will quickly fill with dirt and crap??

    • @RSThinks
      @RSThinks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree, not ideal, but no alternative that I know of.
