- The motor runs almost perfectly, but during the initial tear down, I noticed the coil needed to be replaced after being jammed up with gunk and the layers had separated on one side. Will new coils make it run just that little bit better?
Valve Lash is within spec all around and spark plugs have already been replaced during the oil change.
It boasts 22,500 peak watts and 15,000 running watts, making plenty of power for a large house off-grid. Identical machine to the Ultra Source 15,000w and little brother to the GP17500e

Dang, didnt think a coil/magneto would make much difference
Seemed to help a little bit, it wasnt terrible to begin with, this was mostly preventative maintenance just based on finding the one coil slightly damaged
Was it making that popping sound after you put new spark plugs in it? A bad plug can do that when it starts to get hot.
It did… so that is still a possibility, I’ll have to give it a longer test run with it and see if they start popping after a bit, you might be right and it could be both! I’ll have to dig up some new plugs and test it out to see

You need to up your production values a lot to be anywhere near as good as James Condons videos
Haha thanks agreed, to be fair I’m just starting out and he’s been doing it for years, but i will keep workin on improving it
Personally I don,t care about production values just like useful diy info . If you want great production values and some drama and commercials watch the discovery channel.
@@12wingwfetech I didn’t think it was too bad for my first two months but 🤷🏻♂️ can’t make everyone happy. i wasn’t trying to be as good as James Condon right outta the gate, gotta start somewhere. With time and practice, Im sure the production value will increase and hopefully so will the entertainment value
