See that is why I only put mine down when I was going to race around in areas where I had tight turns other than that I left them at factory so i could still have fun.
You left sponsons at factory, or set rivas all the way down. Just bought a pair as final mod for my ex. Maxed it out with all mods
Stage 1
Steering system
Top loader intake
Ride plate
Now sponsons...
Ski is closesg thing you can get, power to weight as one of thef 00`s 2 strokes, the way I have it set up with modes. Stage 1 really woke it up out of the hole, as well as top end.
- What position will I need to leave them in to still slide and have fun... Or those days are over

I just put a deposit down on my very first ski ever I got a 2021 Yamaha GP1800r HO, unfortunately won’t take delivery to the end of October because there’s not a JetSki to be had in the country / I see you’re from Florida I live in Southeast Florida, would love to hook up and ride with you one of these days after I get my ski.

You should consider doing a trip Miami to Exuma, Bahamas on Jet Skis. That would be really awesome content to see.

I just finish installing, not for the grip but I am hoping that is solved my Porpoising between 23-42mph with a 12 gall aux in the back.
So basically for sharp turns/racing they're really good but if you want to do 180s and 360s not so much?
Did you disconnect your blowhole spout or just put a on/off valve on it? Has salt water hurt your sky a lot? I looks really well kept for salt water.

You’re supposed to use a bead of silicone or any kind of sealant before fitting the billet base plates.
The instructions literally say NOT to apply any sealant.

Jun, Did the sponsons give you better stability in the rough water/chop? I have the same ski and I find when I have my wife on it, it leans to the left when I'm getting on plane but then it straightens out. I hope the sponosns that I ordered help the side to side stability.

Just got a EX deluxe and am keen to get the Riva sponsons . I ride Hauraki gulf in NZ regularly and from your description Jun, it looks like they could help in the chop and big surf?

@@karlbury2692 It is a great ski but I just sold it to a mate and ordered a new GP1800R HO. The EX is fine on your own but a but challenging with someone on the back unless they are reasonably light, I never got the sponsons in the end but I am sure they will improve in the chop. I do miss the plyfulness of the EX though and good value
@@robertryan2228 nice mate yeah gp1800r will be mint ! Ok cool yeah I pretty much ordered the whole riva catalog for my ex lol so hopefully going be fun , farnleys is doing the install of the riva gear should have it by August they say
@@karlbury2692 I have spent about 50 hrs on mine in the Hauraki too, Got my GP1800R just last month off Farnleys too. Might see you out there sometime soon??
I just bought a 2022 exr deluxe with the full riva set up. The sponsons make such a big difference. So much less fatigue as well. I will still whip them off occasionally though to play. It’s impossible to do a Hamilton turn with them on and sometimes you just wanna have a little less control.
Since sponsons are an additional device dragging in the water, did they introduce any more drag? Has your top speed changed?

I have no performance parts on my EX from Riva. I had to sponson’s but I broke them in a race lol

I have the gp1800 it’s already hard to get it spin around and throw a bunch of water in one direction
