I grew up in Boston watching Bobby Orr, so that's where I'm coming from....But guys like Quinn Hughes and Connor McDavid have so much talent and skill it boggles my mind more than watching Orr. NHL players are the best athletes in the world, and they are all better than the guys from the 70s, and to be this talented, to skate with better balance and agility than all of us can walk is not normal.
The puck movement throughout this entire possession was beautiful. Second only to the way the Leafs can move it around on the PP when they’re clicking 2:46
At 3:40 I’ve seen someone else do that move… His name is Allen Iverson… breaking ankles, but in the NBA HUGHES is an amazing skater and all around player probably my favorite C in the NHL
My jaw literally dropped when I saw that. I'm working on punch turns myself right now so I know how insanely hard that is. Ridiculous to pull it off in an NHL game like that, I love watching Quinn
So the RedWings passed on him (played at Michigan btw) and decided to pick Philip Zadina who is out of the NHL now...wow, how did they miss calculate that, especially given how weak our current D is
