The numerous reference to past songs as well as the fact that Vinny has said many songs are sourced from his dreams makes me interpret this song as a “as long as I can keep making music, I will” kind of thing. Its a beautiful album ender that celebrates the joy of being a creative, even when the odds are stacked against you.
I might be exaggerating a bit, but it kind of reminds me of how The Beatles changed in so little time. From their boy band songs to their more avant-garde songs. Red Vox went from a hard garage rock to more ethereal sounding songs.
decided to relisten to this album since it's been a while since i've properly sat down and listened to a red vox song, as well as needing something to break up the monotony of only having listened to kpop for weeks. still as incredible as it was when i first listened to it. :D
I love how emotional this track is, it is perhaps my favourite one from the album. Even though it is a very tough choice to pick a favourite, I like a lot the general tone of the album, just as Vinny said it is very contemplative
Lyrics taken from bandcamp In the morning air At the window, yeah In the morning At the window These dreams, like a scene from your old life Through a cold and distant light There's a place, but there's no time These dreams, take apart your shallow mind In a way you can't define Like a bullet from the sky I know, I know, I know you can never get it back So don't be late and take another crack I won't complain as long as I can dream These dreams, when you live a double life And the stakes are just too high Grenadine and shepherd's pie These dreams, they can really change your life Are you ready for the dive Through the shallows and the cries Of those who chose to put it on their back The highs, the lows that make so many crack And so it goes, as long as I can dream As long as I can dream
This might me my favorite Red Vox song at this point, it gives me vibes from almost all the previous albums. It also continues the tradition of being an amazing album-ending song
Really can't stress how good your album closers are, every last track feels perfect being the last thing you hear on the album. This song leaves such a good taste in my mouth
this song is absolutely beautiful. The first thing I did when I got off of work was listen to the whole album. The cycle of emotions this put me through, man I wish I could feel them for the first time again.
Red Vox has always made in my opinion the number 1 best album ending songs. Every single album I’ve played by them has always been true masterpieces especially at the ending.
what I noticed towards the end of the music video is that the wacky psychedelic effects cease and it's back to reality, but it's not like reality is bad either. It can be beautiful. You don't have to be asleep to dream.
one of my friends said that Visions feels like a dream, with Afterthoughts trying to remember the dream (get ready for cheesy prob lame interpretation lmao) it's very fitting then that it ends with the birds, meaning going back into the dream and experiencing it all again though the colors are inverted, possibly meaning going back and seeing the dream in another light (lol)? that's what I see at least nonetheless, amazing work you guys !!!
And seeing them in Another Light... even back in their first album, the had In A Dream. I love the theme of dreams being apart of many of their songs. Vinny said himself he gets ideas from his dreams, esp this album, during the premire. I just love it a lot.
Reminds me a lot of Stranded, just feels like a wonderful grand finale to this 2nd half of Red Vox(the post-Another Light era), but honestly feels like its an homage to In A Dream from What Could Go Wrong. Regardless, looking forward to the rest of what the crew has to show. AND MORE COLLABORATIONS!!! CHUCK BLEW IT OUT OF THE WATER WITH HIS TRACKS.
If I ever get famous, this will be the one band I prioritise making mention to, it's truly a different type of music that changed the way I songrwrite and see the world, love you guys!!
i only found out about vinny and his bandmates earlier this week, but holy fuck just listening to this makes me want to scream at the top of the hills about Mike, Joe, and Bill being incredible at their own instruments. Very melodic and throws me back to early mornings in 2005 going to school listening to the radio hearing MGMT or Nirvana on repeat. Heres to hoping one day you guys can do a small tour id love to see it all live. You guys are fucking great at what you do.
Such an incredibly beautiful song. I think it personally might be my favorite on the album, there's just something so special about it, I loved them all equally though.
This is my favorite track off the new album, and an amazing final track. I love the pacing of the new album, it's awesome and you guys should be proud.
I'm listening to this way later than I meant to but I think this might be one of my absolute favorite songs by you guys, i can tell it has so much meaning and emotion behind it and the motif of the strength of dreams is something I enjoy X>
As usual, the last/second to last songs wind up being my favorite. I have not decided whether this, pale blue dot, or I’ll know is best (there’s a time is also great)
Hey Vinny I'm glad you and your band still make music from time to time. I may not be the most vocal fan of yours but I'm glad your still around making things to entertain us all
I didn't know a video could have such feeling and human explanation of beauty in song. Prepositions aside, I love this song and will most likely listen to it forever the right and common-perfect reasons. Thanks for the jams.
I watched this song while high and oh my god it’s so trippy. It’s basically Pink Floyd’s the Darkside of the moon visualized. I genuinely love the video itself and the song with it, it really fits well. Good job red vox
I don't know who has control of releasing music to TH-cam Music... but I'm dying to hear this album. Someone even removed almost a stranger and me oh well but didn't add the album even after the stream he did please all I wanna do is hear the album.
I feel like this is their best work. It combines the calmness of Room to Breathe, sometimes the punchiness of What Could Go Wrong, and the experimentation of the latter releases. Could it be the pinnacle? Could it be the end?
To me, Red Vox is like The Beatles. They continue to improve and perfect their sound. The good thing is that Red Vox doesn't dislike each other like the Beatles did, so I see a very long and fruitful legacy

😊
it's insane how much this band matured in such a small amount of time
Blood bagel is only one hemorrhoid away....

not to discredit their growth but they've been doing music way before red vox
@@smore5095 To be fair, so had the Beatles, but you are right
this song actually makes me feel something positive for once ... thank you john red vox
I love how at the end of this video you can see an inverted version of the first music video for Visions
What a callback

Vinny, I'm pretty sure this song just saved my life.
We finally found it, lads. The single good instance of youtuber music.
Just because you upload your work to this website does not necessarily make you a ‘youtuber’.
@@skomty No, but having a successful channel unrelated to music does, as at least one of the band members has.
@@plebisMaximus I know what you mean, but the real question is when are you going to ask for my hand in marriage?
@@plebisMaximus I should rephrase my statement as; I don't particularly see Red Vox as TH-camr music, but of course I see where you are coming from.
@@skomtyfrom vincents twitch streams to his youtube channel?

they rlly hired a great guy to make the video it looks amazing
ah no, it was vinny
Vinny has still yet to produce a song that I haven’t immediately added to playlist
Lyrics taken from bandcamp
In the morning air
At the window, yeah
In the morning
At the window
These dreams, like a scene from your old life
Through a cold and distant light
There's a place, but there's no time
These dreams, take apart your shallow mind
In a way you can't define
Like a bullet from the sky
I know, I know, I know you can never get it back
So don't be late and take another crack
I won't complain as long as I can dream
These dreams, when you live a double life
And the stakes are just too high
Grenadine and shepherd's pie
These dreams, they can really change your life
Are you ready for the dive
Through the shallows and the cries
Of those who chose to put it on their back
The highs, the lows that make so many crack
And so it goes, as long as I can dream
As long as I can dream

It was otherworldly when listening to it for the first time last night. This track is so emotional and felt like a warm, protective hug.
Red Vox has always made in my opinion the number 1 best album ending songs. Every single album I’ve played by them has always been true masterpieces especially at the ending.
Mikes all about the climaxing
what I noticed towards the end of the music video is that the wacky psychedelic effects cease and it's back to reality, but it's not like reality is bad either. It can be beautiful. You don't have to be asleep to dream.
To further iterate on this, there’s a hidden beauty in this song, like sure I can live life and accept reality, as long as i can dream.

I love the visuals in this one. Such a beautiful combo with the song.
I love the call back to visions in the final shot of the video, always great
Perfect to wake up to, perfect to fall asleep to. There's always a time.
Edit: The video is awesome!
such a beautiful song
Been resonating with this song a lot lately, in love with it.
getting some viva la vida era coldplay vibes from parts of this track. love the album, keep it up guys, red vox is easily my favourite band

there could not have been a more perfect ending to this album than this song
i kind of wish that the falling guy was the album cover
That's just imagine dragons mercury act 1.
Feel like I knew this song before I heard it. Love it!!!!
Lyrics are really relatable too.
Red Vox when falling people

I love you Red Vox

I’m not sure if Vinny showed a piece of this song on stream or I dreamed of part of the song
I remember that he once played a like 2 second snippet of a song they were working on. Could've been from this, I dunno
i hope red vox keeps putting out new music! each release just feels so special
This is my favourite one from the record.
thanks, I cried
This is like a love song for yourself
please tour i would sell my soul
i swear theres a high pitch frequency in this or is that just my left ear
love the song regardless. so so soooo good
Yeah, I can hear it too
Yeah it’s near the ends of the song, I hear it too. Starts around the 3 minute mark.
I love you guys
Excellent album! Definitely some Tame Impala influences.
The last song on both Visions and Afterthoughts are the best
Holy shit dude
Vinyl when? 😃
eds - Still warm from the presses! Yes ☺
Very cool!

So damn good
This is some serious earworm
Good thing to wake up to
now to choose which is the better LP, visions or afterthoughts. This is gonna be hard
Afterthoughts, visions has too many slow dragging songs
I got a notification that red vox uploaded a new video but it was this. And it was uploaded 11 months ago. Strange

Nah they got 7 more songs from the recording sessions, and mroe in the works. they're nowhere near done.
To me, Red Vox is like The Beatles. They continue to improve and perfect their sound. The good thing is that Red Vox doesn't dislike each other like the Beatles did, so I see a very long and fruitful legacy
Your amazing just found out..
Hes alive
I never knew vine sauces makes songs!
one more alibum and its going to be like Pink Floyds the wall movie
😍
Grenadine and Shepard's pie... what did you mean by this
As long as i can speen

Sounds like Coldplay
This song reminds me of the musical CATS.
Don't kill me!
