Mine from LeeValley kinda sucks. I can get one half a bit bigger, then the other half seems to taper off square. Lot of trouble getting image in the middle so I can enlarge the entire thing. I will watch you and try again
I want to draw with a chalk pencil (on black cloth) but the hole in my plastic pantograph doesn't allow me to put the chalk pencil into the hole. Not sure how to fix this. Any ideas ?
Hi, thanks for asking. My twin brother bought the pantograph as a gift, so I don't know where he purchased it. I have the info that is on a sticker outside the box: Studio Basics 18" Wooden Pantograph, SB-42018. The description on the the sticker reads: For copying, reducing, or enlarging drawings. Will reduce or enlarge 1 - 1/9 to 10 times. Tracer and lead points are interchangeable. I use this so often for setting up my critter paintings and hope that you find it useful for your projects as well.
I agree with muskndusk if you are transferring an exact copy of a drawing. If you need to enlarge it in the least, then a pantograph is the way to go. Some artists will pay for an enlargement of a picture then use carbon paper to transfer. You can probably get more detail, but as an oil painter, I prefer just an outline and a little detail. Good luck with your wooden project.
Hi there, I think this is the correct position of the Pantograph: A (below B) -B (above A) -D (below B) and C (above D and A) and all letters are aligned below. Just trying to help :)
You must be joking surely. Next time, move the stylus around the photo. Not the freeking pencil on the blank card !!! Jeees !!! And yes. It was painful to whatch. Who calls card "Art Board"? And then changes its name to "Canvas"? Agony.
Leave them alone!! This was great for people learning how to use a pantograph. Much better than all the other vids I had to sit through. I bet you could NOT do a better video. I dare you to try.
Hi. Very good instructions. U make more sense than all the other pantograph links. U and ur wife r way more knowledgeable than the others. Thanks.
Thank you for giving us instructions that we can't find anywhere else. This video was very helpful.

I very much enjoyed it. That was very informative to me. Thank you so much. Congrats on your first YouTUBE vid.
Question: If I want to copy an image on a scale like 1:1.5 wyich is outside a normal pantograph is designed for. How I do that?
Thankyou you helped me understand the concept and I thought you did a good job x
You draw with the needle not the pencil, the pencil copies image, you can also reverse needle and pencil to copy smaller.

Which brand of pantograph are you using?

So you can actually copy it 1:1?
I need something like that to transfer a drawing to a wooden project
Thanks!
You could always use graphite paper for 1:1.

Thank you. This was a first attempt at making a video. We had fun, but the important part is to pass on instructions to others.

before you criticize ANYONE, you really should learn how to spell.
@@stoopidbastid6420 Agreed! And your sentence should have started with a capital letter, right?
