I liked this track better than Takeover. This one went harder, and was more disrespectful
0:25 this is not beef this is rap homie, I don’t have a scratch on me…. Classic
"Me and the boy A.I got more in common than just ballin and rhymin, get it. More in Carmen" 😂😂😂 I still say Hov won this battle.
Bruh I just heard this shit. How tf niggas think Nas won
Nas won that shut hands down only real hip hop artist know that even Dame Dash said Nas won
@virgil5942 Nobody gives a shit what Dame thinks lol. Jay won that shit.

Josh Contreras had to hear it again for old times sake bruh
What a great time it was in hip hop. If you weren’t alive or around during this time then you’ll never truly understand how these diss records were perceived by the public.
Nas said on ether, it makes your soul burn slow. As good as takeover and super ugly were, they weren’t anything special. It was the same thing everyone was saying/doing, which was flexing, saying how they are tougher than everyone else. When you look at ether, it touched a nerve, hit on a completely different level.
Fans of both artists and thankful to be around during this time period but as stated above, if you weren’t around during this time then you’ll never truly understand how monumental ether was.
And if you weren’t in your 40s you’d know both Drake and Kendrick just cleared any other diss from this era lol
I cant even lie, im bumpin this more than Ether…..
hova went crazy on this track.. niggasz sleeping on this 1 smh
agreed
Also agree
Cause he apologized it
Agree homie

Ether won the beef undeniable, and Jay's flow won the hip-hop. #Legends
NO ETHER WON PERIOD STOP TRYNA COMPLICATE THINGS LOL
Jay won in life
@@ssj-rose4572 Jay may have a lot more money but Nas still worth 100 million and I don’t think he ever had aspirations to become that mainstream. I think they both won at life, but Jay lost the battle.
Nas won the bragging rights of this battle that's about it and when you go into careers Jay's been winning consistently many platinum albums it's not just about bars but able to remain on top and sell albums and make hit songs something Jay learned from Big and Pac both those guys wanted to be number on the mic and on the charts that didn't rub off on Nas to he didn't push himself or work hard to want be number one on the charts or sell albums but I won't take nothing away from Nas he's a great lyricist and legend in hip hop and definitely making some good business decisions making money but either way Jay and Nas both great I'm a fan of both
The battle wasn’t just these 2 songs though.
Jayz done grew up a lot 😂😂😂 man used to get disrespectful lol

@@juanquinlan1764 Yeah, but Nasty Nas still smoked him in Ether though. It was a well calculated track; also from what I've researched, nas had recorded an original track for Ether, but the label he was sign to at the time wouldn't sign off on it, from my understanding it was to vulgar to be released. The Ether that was later released was rewritten. If I we're to judge, Super Ugly a solid 9.0, Ether 9.5.
The debate should be super ugly vs ether jay got more disrespectful
Keionte Jefferson yessss
Exactly
But Most Of The Disrespectful Bars Were Towards A.I. Not Nas Though
Keionte Jefferson Nas was more disrespectful in my opinion, but he also wasn’t as clever as Jay was in his rebuttal.
Keionte Jefferson it was super ugly vs ether that’s why it was an easy win for Nas. stillmatic freestyle was the reply for takeover

@@chrisstamps4849 because he was left speechless after this.
Chris Stamps homie. The fact you think calling someone gay is a good diss insult is pathetic. “gay z” “cockafella” “dick sucking lips” “camel”. That’s literally corny and gay asf. Nas diss was weak.
Takeover was hotter than ether and 2nd verse was raw asl. Jay won the beef.
And while we at it, Eminem spit a lot of fluff on renegade. Jay was concise and layered.
I don’t even care, this is the greatest rap diss of all time. Mannnnn it’s savagery on another level, and I don’t even rate Jay Z that much.
Very underrated, if this track came out today it would’ve killed Nas.
The Oblivious agreed. I feel like people wrote it off because it was ‘too savage’, which is pretty ironic imo.
Bruce Grant Right? Could you imagine what would happen if Drake showed proof of him having a fling with Pusha T’s wife?
This track ain't shit.
I just had to be there
I never understand how people say Jay lost with a song like this. He literally had to apologize for it lol
Niggas glazing nas bc this shit pure heat
They both won cause it elevated their game and gave us some super dope shit.
Ether went hard, but how you gonna sleep on dis?
Name me one diss on Ether that was ACTUALLY TRUE (because Large Proffessor who is way closer to Nas than he is to Jay, and Dj Clark Kent both said a lot of the shit Nas said on Ether wasn’t true) and that wasn’t a ugly joke that was better than anything on this....this diss was far better than ether
