This was before Alexander signed his big contract, he ran pretty good up until then.
Good ol mid 2000's Seahawks. The team had plenty of flaws and made some mistakes, but they were always just good enough to escape with the win and sneak into the playoffs.
Ya remember when Holmgren was like billy o'Brien and they broke out in 2005 when they stripped him or GM duties to focus on coaching and they had Hutchinson and walter Jones the elite left side
As a Seahawks fan, I've realized how Paul Allen bought a mediocre Seahawks team, and under his ownership, they've achieved so much.
Life flies by. 2004 just doesn't feel like it was 16 years ago. Randy Moss was insane to watch each week.
For real I miss these days and it was more hits and straight up football

In 2004, Dante Culpepper had an incredible year. It was just overshadowed by Peyton Manning's absurdly great season that year.

Culpep had moss, robinson, and burleson haha. If I remember right, their ratings in a video game were 99, 94, and 88 respectively. Also the tight end was in the high 80s as well. Couple that with a god tier offensive line
Culpepper was criminally underrated at the time. Too bad he fell off a cliff in 05
Trent Holt cause his offenses werent nearly as talented as the 04 vikes. This is coming from a die hard viking fan. He was a good qb but had issues fumbling and all that. That WR core and offensive line would make any QB look good. Plus after his injury he was never the same

Still knocked GB out of the Playoffs in Lambeau though so that made it a pretty decent season.

Wow those Viking Teams were legit! At least I can confirm the refs were as bad then as they are now. With 4 seconds left in the 4th qtr pause it before the Vikings snapped the ball and you tell me if he's offsides?? Was clearly not offsides! Then the last play of the game Culpeppers knee clearly touches the ground right in front of ref....
Andrew LaChapelle The ref wouldn't have called him offsides if he could have paused the game. Same with the knee. Those were calls that anyone could get wrong.

funkydunkleman - you are a legend! I remember I discovered your channel in the 2015-2016 season (which ironically enough had two Vikings losses to the Seahawks, even though we should have won the one that counted if not for the Blair Walsh chip shot miss) and watched all the old late 90s/early 2000s games that I grew up watching before the NFL blocked basically all of them. Loved what you did with the classic highlights though as an alternative!
This was a dark time for vikings. Red McCombs was the worst/cheapest owner in the NFL. So glad he sold the team to the wilf family. They are great owners.

Once Culpepper went down the Vikings were 2-5 and their defense carried them to a 6 game winning streak and an 8-5 before a tough loss to the soon-to-be Super Bowl champ Steelers 19-3 in Week 15 pretty much killed their postseason chances (along with a Packers loss to the Bears and a Vikings loss on MNF to the Kyle Boller-led Ravens in Week 16 on Christmas Day a week later)

Man! Mike Holmgren turned the Seahawks Franchise into a winner. That was such a great time to be a Seahawks fan seeing them improve year after year. Man I wish Mourice Morris started over Alexander! Russell Wilson my all time favorite QB and Matt Hasselbeck number two.

Marcus Trufant had himself one of the best games I've ever seen from a corner vs. Moss - how did he only make 1 pro bowl ? He had 10 more pass deflections his first 3yrs than Jalen Ramsey & that guy is an all-pro in a pass-happy league 🤔

Daunte Culpepper was a player I enjoyed watching during his time with the vikings, aside from Moss of course. The way he played reminded me of McNabb with a cannon arm and with enough speed to be a ground threat if needed. An underrated player who could have accomplished more in his career

@@chiefbubba2581 You realize he his knee was DESTROYED about 9 months prior to week 1 in '06 with the Dolphins right? I think it was Week 7 in 2005 he took a hit to the knee from Chris Gamble that tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL. He was so big that he couldn't bounce around in a pocket like a lot of smaller, less "mobile" QBs do, and once his knee issues took away his ability to extend plays via the run, he became just a QB with a cannon for an arm with below-average anticipation and below-average short to mid accuracy. He didn't get burned by his lack of anticipation when he could extend plays outside the pocket but once that was gone he was doomed to be middle-of-the-pack or worse in the league.
He hung on for a bit with Miami, Oakland, and Detroit during 06-07, and I remember he was a free agent at the start of '08 since when Brady went down in Week 1 of '08 there was a ton of speculation the Pats would sign him.
I'm betting this upcoming Seahawks Vikings game will be just as hype

Seattle has a good Monday night record and playing in Seattle too. I got Seattle winning this one. Vikings are good. But Seattle is way better. The hawks should win this game. And go 8 and 5. This will be a good game

@Cool Guy I'd say that their defense is pretty crap this year and Minnesota can pass the ball well. Admittedly Xavier Rhodes has been hurt and Minnesota's offensive line has been horrific putting all of the pressure on cousins every snap. I also feel like at this point I should mention I'm not a Vikings fan

I absolutely hate same-place-finisher games👿👿👿👿. This game should've aired on Fox sports net Northwest (Seahawks) and Fox sports net North (Vikings) it's devastating, disgusting, embarrassing and humiliating that this game happened in 2004. Same-place-finisher games should only be allowed to air on regional networks such as Bally sports, NBC sports regional networks, AT&T sportsnet. The NFL really needs to get rid of same-place-finisher games altogether or at the very least don't have them be nationally televised but have them be televised by regional networks

Love when a QB should just get rid of the ball and take the field goal, but instead decides to hold on as long as possible, get sacked, and now you're out of fg range so u punt instead. It's just a wonderful part of the game. Having no awareness of situations when you're trying to WIN a game. Winning is when u SCORE more POINTS than the other team

That would be Julius Jones who was drafted by Dallas that year and funnily enough ended up playing for Seattle for a few years a couple years after this.
Minnesota Vikings was member NFC Central Division from 1970 through 1993 and Seattle Seahawks was member NFC West Division from 1976 through 1993 era
Im confused on that statment. Hawks in the first year was in the NFC West, but from 1977 to 2001 they were in the AFC West. Then in 2002 they went back to the NFC West.
