Two things are happening in tandem. There is a long planned break after the Metal Resistance era. Koba stated recently, they wanted to go silent, until the new era, as they’ve done in the past. Then there’s the announcement of a pause in Legend=Live events which they wanted to announce due to Covid.
The process of writing the new album has been underway for at least a year according to Japanese interviews.
I missed this MV. Holy cow…I’m sharing the feels, sir. Baby Metal was among the bands that opened my eyes to global music during the pandemic and helped the world feel less isolated and uncertain.
I don't think this is goodbye forever, more like closing a chapter in a book. They will be back after a break with some new songs!
I think of it like going from one book to its sequel. We finished "The Fellowship of the Ring," now we're heading into "The Two Towers."
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu Great analogy. But, this video, along with the opening messages, really make it sound like the band is done. Maybe that's just to get a reaction out of the fans. If so, it definitely worked. I'm still hoping that the 3 lights means Yui will return.
@@chainduck All that's been said is that the Metal Resistance era is over. We're going into the Living Legend era. Whether that means Su and Moa will be back, how they'll perform, whether or not Yui will somehow come back, whether or not Momoko or someone else will be made a third member . . . who knows? Just be patient.

It sounded beautiful. She made me sad. I think that such a loudly announced end is the beginning of something new. We just have to wait. These vocalists don't just leave. She knows her worth, and we shouldn't be sad about this.

I expect that Su has a long career ahead of her whether in Babymetal or another music project. I don't know if Moa is as strong a vocalist. But, she certainly has the look to go into modeling or acting if that's something she'd like to pursue. All three girls are wonderfully talented. But, I have to give a huge amount of credit to Koba for this concept, as well as all the musicians and composers and choreographers and stage production pros, that made Babymetal into an incredible and compelling act. It's crazy really. I'm not a huge metal fan. And, I'm not an idol group fan. But, I can't stop watching and listening to Babymetal...go figure. It must be magic. :)

Oh hey friend, saw you in Tiny Tina's Wonderland comment section, then found you everywhere in BM videos, later better than never. I discovered them during the most tough time for the band, Yui missing, Mikio RIP, It was 2018 I think, I was so sad when watching Legend S and only Moa and Su were there. And I can tell their confusion without Yui during the world tour right after that (7 choosen one stuff).
But everything is better now, they're grown up and at the top of their career now (although I'd say the golden age of BM was 2014-2017), the future is here, can't wait to see what *The Other One* gonna be
@@BadEnd98 Hi! It's cool to be recognized, haha. I do watch a ton of BABYMETAL stuff now, reactions, compilations, tributes, etc. I'm sure it was tough on you discovering them at that time. I still miss Yui soo much, but I'm glad I didn't have to go through her leaving when it actually happened, as I feel it would have made me much sadder.
I'm looking forward to the future of BABYMETAL! There is a bright light at the end of the stairs, and one day soon we'll reach it I'm sure. Nice to meet you, btw. 🤘

It's a great song and performance to end Metal Resistance. I hope that we don't have to wait until Fox Day next year before we see something new from them.

I have watched this song a few times. I just got tickets to see them live in January and came back to watch this. I still teared up at the end... This is crazy... Babymetal is life!

I think they are drawing a line between the old and the new, closure on the metal resistance and moving on to being living legends. The seal will be broken on special occasions but everything from now on will be new. They are full grown women now so i think thats another reason they wanna move on, reflect who they are now, and maybe with songs they write themselves. Babymetal i believe will be back just with all new stuff and reflect that they are adults now. Most interesting to me is the meaning at the end the 3 balls is that for Yui or the avenger and does that mean a 3rd member is coming otfgk i guess.
Nothing wrong with clever marketing. I'm guessing a major world wide tour will be announced in 2022.🤞

I thought the same thing man. On this (original video), they used the word "three", the 3 fireballs (?) flying together in the air and the voice of Yui (along with Moa's) in the backing vocals to sing "We are the one".

Este vídeo claramente es una despedida, muchos dicen que la pandemia provocó que Babymetal decidiera desintegrarse pero los problemas de la banda se remontan al periodo 2017-2018 en donde Yui decidió salirse del grupo, en esa época también empezaron los cambios drásticos al concepto original de Babymetal (los vestuarios y peinados del 2018 son horribles), en pocas palabras Kobametal intentó hacer un control de daños para alargar la vida de la banda unos años más. Personalmente la etapa de Babymetal que más me gusta es el periodo entre el primero y segundo disco (2014-2016), lo que más me sorprende de Babymetal no es que unas chicas japonesas bailen al ritmo del metal, el mayor logro de la banda es que hicieron que el J-POP "kawaii" fuera conocido a nivel internacional. Tenemos que ser realistas, Sakura Gakuin y Babymetal fueron proyectos populares y exitosos que tenían una fecha de caducidad de 10 años, es triste despedirse de estas talentosas chicas pero al final es lo mejor tanto para los productores como para Su y Moa. Al final del vídeo aparecen tres luces que se pierden en el espacio, Yui siempre fue una de las fundadoras de Babymetal y una bailarina talentosa y profesional, aunque intentaron reemplazarla con otras bailarinas nunca lograron igualar su calidad de canto y baile, me alegra que en el vídeo se muestre que la banda siempre estuvo conformada por 3 integrantes: Su, Moa y Yui, nadie más). Las canciones de Babymetal siempre estarán en nuestras mentes y corazones, FOREVER THE ONE.
I want to see a new video upon return showing the seal being smashed and the 3 returning to Earth with killer new tracks. :)

thank you for the reaction vid and your take. Agree, not disbanding or the end, cryptic as they are they'll let us know if/when that will happen - but definitely a good hit to the side of the head reminding us to enjoy the things we have while they're still around.

Where did all those onion cutting ninjas come from? This is such a beautiful song and this version hits my feelings the same way Akatsuki (unfinished) does. Is it just me or does Moa looks kinda sad when they climb up the stairs? Also, what is the meaning of the three lights flying into the Galaxy? Just an homage to Yui or does it mean Babymetal will come back as a trio? So many questions….
@xdeleilax The stair climbing and lights streaking into the distance are CGI. I think they did a much better job on Moa's avatar than Su's.
I think they were to leave earth to embark on a journey through the Metal Galaxy. Just my speculation though.

Do you think it´s a pandemic-related hiatus, a publicity stunt or the actual disbandment of the band?
Koba said that the decision was made even before the pandemic started. And it's not a disbandment, because he said "we have to wait for their return", "until the seal is broken", etc.
@@omajination i don't think Koba would use the term " disband" , that would hurt merch sales and Koba loves selling merchandise lol.
I do hope we will have more of them in the near future.

I think that BABYMETAL will continue in one of two ways.
They will either come back as a less kawaii but still kawaii and more grown up version of BABYMETAL
Or Su, Moa, and Yui will be in the lore in an elevated status while three new girls become a new incarnation of the band.

Look at their album history. 3 albums over 10 years. Not an album every year like so many other bands. Those kind produce a lot of filler. Because of the variety of listeners and their individual favorites, there is no such thing as filler on a BabyMetal album. We're so spoiled that we've come to expect quality from this group and that is what is coming next.
It’s more indie rock than metal but try the Japanese band Hump Back. Female three piece. Guitarist / Vocalist is amazingly talented. I recommend Bankuruwase to get started.
I think Su, Moa, and Kobametal are looking at a mature Babymetal. They're grownup, not teenagers and I don't want them "frozen" in time. I think it will still be Jpop/Metal but different. I do want them to be a trio, another Avengers team or a permanent third. The "Team" is still there at Amuse to go forward. One thing is, I don't want them to be an "Oldies" band. New Material, new Dances, and new Music!!

i know babymetal i think since 2016, but at that time i dont really listen to their music and now i regret that i dont listen to their music earlier ☹️. but then i saw you guys on TH-cam for the first time and i saw babymetal the thumbnail ( its rondo of nightmare ), and i dare myself to listen babymetal, and it was the best treasure i can have with music, and im so glad that i see your video that day, and i wanna thank you guys so much for introducing me to babymetal. 🥲
