I feel like team battles (like actually having multiple opponents out on the battlefield would be fun). Kinda like Xenoverse but with actually fun gameplay
It's better than its predecessor with all the hype and legacy that one had. I think that's the biggest compliment this game can get, although it's far from perfect (but it's a bit close).
Sparking zero isn’t a spiritual successor it’s an actual sequel. In Japan the tenkaichi games were called sparking so they named tenkaichi 4 sparking zero in order to have the Japanese and American releases under the same name.
The reason deflecting a beam may be better than simply dodging, is that you gain a ki charging buff after successfully deflecting a beam! While they are charging to regain some ki, you can charge much faster and counter attack with a ki advantage!
I'm loving this game! Sparking Zero is almost everything I wanted in a Budokai Tenkaichi successor. I'm hoping that they take this new foundation and see how massively successful the game is and continue to iterate over the formula to make it even better.
It's not a Spiritual Successor. The Sparking series IS Tenkaichi. Even when they revealed it, they referred to it as new Budokai Tenkaichi. This is Sparking 4 / Tenkaichi 4.
I actually enjoy the cutscenes, they do not feel like a show, as the video says they are kind of awkward but it makes me feel immersed in the story and made me feel really nostalgic
I agree, storm connections literally uses stills of the anime, I think the panning shots of the 3D models and some of the limited movement and effects look super clean
100% I think the fact that you can see it from the characters' perspective is so cool that I'll give them a pass on a "not perfect" look of the characters
1:51 I see a couple of errors here to correct: - Countering a Revenge Counter costs *one* skill point - Using Super Perception to reflect/dissipate a ki blast gives you a boost to your ki charging for 10s (it's 3 stacks of the ki charge buff).
This game is just so damn good as a DB Fan, idk how it is for someone who isn't in touch with DB. But it is not straight up Budokai Tenkaichi 4 it's the modern version of it but in a good way. You can do so much with the combos or dash attacks(unless you get super-countered lol) and the character, stage, effects and specials all of them looks so fucking good. Like Globku said it is not the perfect polished game but it is certainly the best Dragonball Game we had so far
All iask for to make this game reach perfection for me is a music pack that includes the BT2/3 musics, better camera (more focused on the character and less on the field), improved responsiveness on "Classic Controls" and lastly regular updates that add new items/costumes on the shop (making us seek to grind money)
I've been looking forward to this review. I've missed the Globku reviews. But I'm also glad you took your time to digest the game instead of rushing something out.
I’m ngl, as someone who’s played the story countless times, I like how they condensed the story. They even expanded parts of super that we haven’t necessarily played countless times yet. Is it the most accurate thing ever? Ofc not and it’s not the most groundbreaking in terms of cutscenes but it offers incredibly satisfying difficulty, touches base on everything you would need from the story in a Budokai 3 style format, and has insane what if scenarios. I will say I agree about cutting a couple corners tho, such as the champa tournament. But the gt arcs I would assume are coming as dlc or something of the sort.
They skip way too many key moments for it to be decent. The new LEGO Star Wars game did a similar thing with their campaign. since the game was made during a Disney owned era, they put all the time and animation and writing into the sequel movie stories, and they really rushed the prequels and the original original trilogy. I feel the terrible pacing in this game too when I play different story modes, and if I wasn’t on Xbox I would only ever play online games. But unfortunately Xbox has no matchmaking still. It’s been so long and I can’t play online
Is bad for me as expected something as bt2. Better than bt3 story but they rushed it so much that you don't feel you are taking your time to advance through story. The worst saga of the game for now it's frieza saga. Skipped so many things and a lot of fights ends without defeating the enemies
I could maybe even see them do an expansionist story DLC (of the stories that were already covered in the base game) if the demand stays high enough for a full on story mode more akin to BT2
NEW OFFICIAL PATCH CONFIRMED TODAY! Vanishing assault also helps against dragon dashes if timed correctly! You can use it also to launch them forward and start a new combo! Other things for everyone to remember: your jump move can also use ki blast different depending on if you hold or tap during the jump! EVERY character has a different type like aoe, slower speeds but better tracking, etc. Some characters like bojack can PARALAYSE you for free ults or whatever! You can use a jumping attack downwards and some people to a ground slam! You're ascend/desend using the jump button also has moves DURING the animation! Theres special interactions in the game like master roshis sunglasses being able to block solar flares until destroyed, or the scouters can see opponents farther depending on the rarity of it! Btw, use super perception to deflect beams away and gain a buff for 3x the ki charge! Useful for androids and slower charging characters If you spam the block button when small ki blast are coming at you or hold it while flying! you deflect them and gain gauge for skills and transformations! You can charge heavy attacks left and right as well! Charging a heavy attack has 3 different versions and a perfect charge makes the character IMMEDIATELY teleport BEHIND and get a launch for a combo starter! I enjoyed the Goku Black what ifs, but even though every node always branched off to a different path, it did kinda feel like it always ended the same. HOWEVER The what if Black never fused has ALWAYS felt like the something i strongly agreed with. And i WISHED they showed us what happened after they succeeded in the Zero Mortal Plan. I strongly believe that Black would eventually get bored in a multiverse with NO MORTALS, and his own company Zamasu would most likely get tired of battling Black and vice versa. Itd be cool to see him traverse the timeline in search of oppenents to fight with. It seems like they have plans to add more what ifs as there are nodes that are inaccessible ao im HOPING they continue some of these what ifs.
The change to mocap animation for cutscenes I'm more than willing to accept since it's a corner that's acceptable to be cut considering how amazing the animations are in battle where it matters most. I do wish there were way more animated cutscenes in general, especially the iconic scenes like when Goku turns Super Saiyan for the first time.
I think a good solution to end the vanishing war and stop the game from slowing down is, first of all, make it faster, harder to react, and second, add a mini game for when you reach a certain amount of vanishes, like they did in the Tenkaichi 4 mod, where you have to press the buttons on screen while the characters teleports around while clashing hits, i believe it was triggered after 4 or 5 vanishes from each side
one of the things about this game that the earlier entries did not have = UPDATES With massive postitive reception and activity I think they will continue to improve the game over the coming year with the DLCS. I see a lot of people saying "its nearly perfect" -- I think if people communicate those points we will actually see them in the game
To balance the super counter being the best option all the time, it should reduce your max ki by about a fifth of a ki bar every time you use it. To get that max bar back, you should have to use other defensive options.
Man I can't wait for this game to get a patch as soon as possible. I feel like there really are a bunch of small problems in the game that just needs to be fixed up as soon as they can. Specifically the classic vs standard controls for online matches problem. I care about that getting fixed faster more than rage quitting first
I feel like buffing revenge counters so that you can only block them or only things like wild sense can counter it, would be a good idea because I feel like right now there is almost no reason to use it, especially upclose because most people will dodge it or use perception plus even if you do land the revenge counter you aren't free to combo and can be punished if you try to immediately attack after the counter, they should change it so that the opponent is atleast staggered that way you can follow up after you land the counter, as for vanishes what I think they should do is similar to how they did it in Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3, which is to speed up the vanishes on consecutive vanishes, so as you vanish it gets harder to vanish the next attack as it comes out faster and doesnt just come down to who had the most ki
If this gets supported even half as much as XV2 and Fz, then it will have a legacy to be proud of going forward. Even if not, the mod scene will be fed for years.
“The roster is meant to be unbalanced so that its accurate to the source material” The accuracy to the source material in question: Yajirobe and other stall-out characters dominating top online teams more than Beerus.
This was the review I was looking forward to the most. I knew you were taking your time on this, so that you could be as objective as possible when discussing everything the game has to offer
Globku to avoid vanish battles you can dodge out of it with x on PlayStation yourr side step button press that instead of r1 it back steps you back into fighting neutral
So, are going to ignore all the features from Raging Blast? I mean, I grew up with Raging blast so, yeah. A great review by the way. Great as always 👍🏾
Here is a list of things I would add/change to the game mechanics in order to make it feel a lot more fair and fast paced. 1- SUPER Z COUNTER : Super Z Counter will cost 2 bars of ki. Will have a different sound or animation compared to Z counter, activated when pressing 'block button + ki charge button' before getting hit (same frame window timing as Z counter) . Once Super Z Counter is used to avod an enemy attack there will be a short 1-2 second clash animation between you and your opponent and you will both be placed back to neutral at a short distance. EXAMPLE**:** The opponent is comboing you, they extend their combo with a vanishing assault, you use Super Z Counter, you just saved yourself from 40 seconds of Z counter back and fourth for the price of 2 bars. This is good because it still gives the person comboing options 1. After knocking the enemy away they can choose to charge ki and play passive. 2. they can extend the combo with vanishing assault and force the opponent to use 2 bars and keep playing aggressive. This also still gives the person on the defensive the option to just normal Z counter as long as possible just in case the opponent makes a mistake and misses one, while also giving them a fail-safe at the cost of 2 bars. 2- Z Counter: Changed from 1/4 bar to half a bar each time you Z Counter. (further incentivising the use of Super Z Counter) 3- Super counter: Should cost 1/4 bar of ki (you got hit, if you want to escape you gotta spend ki) Less expensive than Z counter now being half a bar so still viable against vanishing assault if you want to take the risk in order to retake the ki lead. If the opponent Z counters your super counter you both still have the option to use Super Z Counter to go back to neutral. That's it for the Vanishing/Z counter mechanic, what do you think? Next is ki blasts 1- Weak Ki blasts should NOT interrupt ki charge. I know this sounds crazy, but listen. EVERYONE is spamming ki blasts in the current "meta" (I know it's a party game but bear with me) to the point you just give up on ki charging because the opponent is keeping their distance being annoying. Charged ki blasts SHOULD interrupt ki charge. My reasoning is that if you want to stop someone from charging ki you have to get in their face, mainly by dragon dashing or doing a charged ki blast. This will force more melee gameplay. This will also make the sparking ki blast spammers easier to counter. 2- Sparking . There is currently an oversight (in my opinion) that just lets you infinitely spam ki blasts at your opponent until your sparking runs out, and there's practically nothing the opponent can do to escape this if you make them start blocking. Ki blasts costing ki in sparking mode will reduce the amount of time this can go on for. 3- When blockng ki blasts your character should face the direction that the ki blast is hitting, currently people are able to move around you while firing ki blasts during sparking and they can get behind you by doing so as your character won't correct their direction. This allows for really scummy play which is literally just pressing 1 button and a direction. Something came up while writing this so I'll end it here, what do you guys think?
I love it. 1-New super Z counter is what we need, an evasive option for everyone if timed correctly, but costly. I guess you had the original super counter from Bt3 in mind. 2- Z counter requires a bit more Ki when activated, absolutly. 3-Yes, but the timing from super counter should be reduced and/or make it not spammable. Ki blasts: 1-Hard take, but I would say no, please no. If someone ki blasts you then he is consuming KI, which will tip the KI balance in your favor as you, are charging, even if just a bit. And this is very important. Charging KI is a way to reward yourself when you push the enemy away. 2- Sparking mode; Infinite small Ki blasts can be a pain but bare with me: Entering Sparking mode should require at least 2 Skill points. « Maximum power » skills that would activate it otherwise should require at least 4 SP, instead of 3. Sparking mode is too frequent, and unfair in the heat of a fight. Or as you said, tweek it so it’s not as strong, starting with unlimited combo that would accelerate depletion of KI, and same thing for Ki blasts. 3- Automaticaly orienting guards when blocking small Ki blasts: Yes please. If I may add: 1-Recovery is horrible atm. We should be able to recover faster at the cost of some KI or skill point when sent away. A « Super Recover » if you will. 2-Z-vanish chains should allow for more option: cancelling it by holding the button down or double tap. Plus, it should accelerate the more we vanish. 3-We need a more reactive transfo/switch panel input. 4-A better camera, that could zoom out a little if doing movement in rapid succession, or display a 2D angle of the fight when close range. A custom camera would not hurt. Overall it can largely be improved.
7.5. Now that my honeymoon period with the game has worn out, this game feels like they had no time to finish it and rushed to release it alongside daima. Customization is nonexistent, story mode was disappointing, the shop has nothing to offer.
I expect the honeymoon period ending is gonna hit this game’s fanbase HARD. It’s only a matter of time before they realize the 180+ character roster they hyped up only has a small handful of characters that are relevant online. Even the game’s attempt to rectify its purposefully-unbalanced roster (DP system) is badly balanced itself and unlikely to be properly refined since the developers clearly aren’t aiming for balance.
@@iramadrama8208 The fact you treat the roster like it’s just there to nostalgia-pander is pretty sad. Also, they’re gonna struggle to even use them outside of cpu matches when they realize the same 10 characters will be dominating them over and over again.
@@8bitdiedie 180 is pointless. It just is, but it's there for people who want it. And there's still the patches and skill that will ultimately define the online. Have you yourself struggled against a Yajirobi? Isn't it just hard for players who can't beat one character?
I agree, custom battles would be a lot of fun if players could search for character names and dialogue options faster. They should also give you an option to "favorite" names and dialogue. Because it makes no sense for me to scroll all the way down to vegeta when I want to give him two lines of dialogue
Lol I know the Open Field stage was build of the JF version because of the snowy area in the background. It's normal to reuse assets but it's kinda funny to me
Everything I would like to see changed: 1. vanish wars should go into a clash 2. dp costs adjusted (why do almost all of frieza's forms cost the same?) 3. ability cooldowns (sparking mode spam is lowkey kinda annoying especially when I play my heart out dodging the first one, so either add a cooldown or reduce the amount of skill gauge build up from vanishing) 4. super counters shouldn't be able to be used with attacks from behind but revenge counters should 5. adjust chain attack inputs (if I'm trying to do a super I should be forced into chain attacking which my opponent can easily vanish) otherwise, love the game
Hope that when Superhero dlc comes out they add story alongside it. Doubtful since we don’t get the Broly movie in the story but whatever. Gameplay is really what matters and it’s everything I wanted.
I missed an entire section of the review and had to rewind because I was too deeply invested in the story of Bergamo narrowly escaping becoming Roshi's dinner
Since I’m not a dbz fan I could not care less abt this game, but seeing every TH-camr that I follow spam videos abt this game is a hard challenge for me..🤣🤣
not one review so far has actually talked about the gameplay. Thank you for explaining the changes from the old games (as disappointing as the changes are)
Good Video :) I like Tenkaichi 3 more than Sparking Zero because of the back punches. In Sparking Zero it is difficult to conter if you are backwards to your oponnent. In Tenkaichi 3 it was possible to give a back punch. This was awesome and more balanced.
I agree with all the points you made here, but I personally find navigating the text options in custom battles to be the games’ biggest detriment. Yes, the game mode is fantastic and is a great addition to ensure the longevity of the game, but the navigation still needs some tweaks. I built a custom battle yesterday which is in concept really simple, but due to me wanting to use context appropiate dialogue i was browsing the text options for hours. Adding a search bar would be extremely helpful, as just searching for a coherent sentence with the word “training” in it took almost an hour for me 😭 Still the game is amazing, but the devs should really consider adding some small QOL to custom battles, as it is the mode that will keep this game alive for years to come, especially for those that like PVE and What If scenarios.
Reflecting ki blasts gives you buffs, just look at 1:42, when Kid Buu reflects, he gets some buffs beneath his ki bar, plus you get no chip damage, unlike when you block, and dodging ki blasts on this game is hard, the tracking is crazy, plus tp needs timing, it’s not something most people can do consistently
I was waiting for this review specifically! I'm glad you took your time. Personally my biggest gripes are episode battle in general, super counters in general, rush attacks not really working outside of combos, and the css being really bleh. but otherwise, absolutely my GOTY and it was worth the wait
11:54 As someone who loves the custom battle creator, we desperately need a patch for the scene editor. Even just a search bar would be incredibly helpful.
The only thing I dislike is the story mode. It’s a vignette of greatest hits for key characters. I would’ve preferred dragon history with the added super sagas and movies. I get they added the custom battles for the community to create those scenarios themselves but I would’ve preferred an actual story mode.
imagine how much customization and features with the custom battle can be added and fine tuned over time once players and the devs really get a feel how everything works or with a sequel. I look at it as the franchise is potentially back and tenkaichi 1 was a great but flawed game of course, but tenkaichi 2 to tenkaichi 1 was night and day. once the devs get a good feel of the game and this hardware fully especially with ps5 pro and everything coming out cant wait to see what comes next. after all it was named "zero" because its a kind of new starting point a very light soft reboot if you will.
I am probably the only person who doesn't mind the story cutscenes being 'rushed'. I enjoy the what if lore and just skip what I already no, so I guess it's better they saved on that so we have an enjoyable experience
Seen as there’s so much good with this game, I’m gonna talk about its downsides 1. The stage selection feels very limited. The stages we have are great but there’s still some obvious ones missing. The main 4 being Kami’s Lookout, Beerus’ Planet, the unnamed planet and an ice themed stage. However, these can all be added in updates 2. The outfits aren’t as expansive as we thought they would be. Some of the outfits we did get were great like Jackie Chun for Master Roshi and Yamcha’s Bandit Outfit. However, there are quite a few important costumes missing. Goku’s End of Z outfit, Uub’s End of Z outfit, Goku and Vegeta’s snowsuits and the baseball outfits are all some I can name off the top of my head. Still, this can be sorted out with updates 3. The Episode Battles were very low budget. The What Ifs were fantastic but the canon storyline was done extremely poorly. Some examples being Majin Vegeta’s final explosion looking dreadfully bad and the storytelling being okay at best. However, it’s obvious the effort went towards the what if stories for that mode and I think they were all fantastic 4. Custom battle creation menus. Who sorted those menus? Those are all the issues I’ve faced as someone who’s not played online ranked matches. Some of the characters look disgustingly annoying to fight against like Yajirobe, Giants and Afterimage Strike users but I’ve not gotten into that much yet Fantastic game 92/100
Honestly, I didn't even mind the cutscenes *that* much because the voice actors went crazy for this game. Just the voice acting alone sold the cutscenes. I'm also okay with it for the most part because I didn't buy SZ for the story mode. If I want the story of Dragon Ball, I can always go back and play Kakarot.
My only complaint about this game is that it is soo good, but my PC has been hard crashing & blue screening (unrelated) so it's not letting me play when I want! And of course, ACTUAL complaints about the game (when I am able to) is mostly the missing quality of life features.
I personally don't recommend skipping the Goku Black story. Tho I'm a Goku Black fan. The main what if revolving around not fusing is a really dope. It's mostly disappointing but I'd say it's better than Jiren's. Jiren's only decent what if path has one manga interaction and returns back to the main path. And his main what if is especially underwhelming because he doesn't even use his wish for ultimate power. (I know Zen-Oh would've erased everything if he did, but with that wish, he genuinely could've survived and protected his universe from erasure. There are way cooler things they could've done.) On the other hand, we already know the outcome if Goku Black won just by watching the anime. The multiverse gets cleansed. The only cooler thing they could've done is have Goku Black fight and defeat Zamasu, which fits their bickering in the manga and the parallel quest in Xenoverse 2.
- Good things: I'm enjoying a lot, it's a good game and it improves all the bad things its predecessor has, the graphic is really cool and the gameplay feels smooth enough - ""complains"" (these aren't really complains but are just my thoughts): the explosions of many special moves are always the same they could do a bit more for gave them more peculiar effects, the roster is SO BIG, So big that every character play the same. I can understand they had to work a lot on putting all these characters but a bit more variety in their movesets and different combos for each character maybe would helped with the variety of the gameplay
Yh I see the cutscenes and they look motion captured a little awkward. But the fact that this is a game where a single patch can change everything its definitely a great game
I think ti would be cool if that was a vanishing clash if the vanish war lasted like 4 vanishes per person or something. Just forces an end to the war while still being awesome and require a little skill to be the winner.
Thank you for vindicating every criticism I have for the game. So many people online letting their excitement just take over and blast me for saying things like basically all of what you said. Don’t get me wrong, one of my favourite games of 2024. It’s far from perfect
I just went back to see how quick vanishing battles were in older versions of BT and compared it to SZ and yeah it really made me want them back to their faster pace even more; it already seemed off-putting to me in some SZ trailers where it was showcased. i thought they upped the gameplay speed by 20% to account for the slower vanishing battles but nope.
I had a blast going through this story mode. I only barely finished bt3 story mode before this and almost dropped that because I could never get used to the combat and the story mode itself just couldn't get me invested. Sparking Zero mostly felt way better to play from the start other than some movement quirks which Im still struggling with sometimes. I also never lost interest in the story mode throughout 100%ing each battle condition. There were some disappointing lack of detail here and there but otherwise I thought it was a great mode.
Glad im not the only one who thinks the revenge counter is redundant and useless. There are so many options you can use to get out of combos for free. The counter is highly (get this) counterable. The button input could have been for so many other things, grabs, lock on, super counter, etc. Instead its just a button almost no one uses.
I love this game the only thing I’m not a fan of is players just trying there fastest to get there sparking power and abuse the damage ect. It’s like every match starts to play the same
I was super excited for this game, but I found out my PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to play it, which was pretty shocking since I haven't had any issues with other games (although to be fair I don't play very many modern AAA games). What's worse is that the game speed is tied to frame rate, making it a slog to play, even on the lowest graphics settings. I'm getting a new graphics card which will get rid of these issues for me, but it's unfortunate that this game is just simply not going to be playable on mid to lower end PCs
Raging blast just plays and feels better in everyway. like sparking zero is like an actual party game. its fun but its not more solid than raging blast 2
I love this game and definitely keeps me up all night. It's not perfect and needs a couple of patches, but still a very fun Dragon Ball game. Buying on PC is way more worth it than on console
The problem with the balance is that Dragon balls lack of it is the worst part of the show. You took the fundamental flaw in the show and made it a fundamental flaw in your game.
My only negative about the game is the episode battle, like the omissions mentioned (U6 vs U7 arc, tournament of destroyers arc, etc), as well as omission of many story accurate maps and costumes (which were present in BT3), making the story at times inaccurate. Episode battle definitely seemed like a lazy attempt (aside from what ifs).
I dont understand how the net code can be shit in every single one of bandais games. Cant count how many full freezes the game has had while playing online.

Deflecting a super may cost skill points but gives a huge boost to ki charge so it does have its reasons to use and not just dodge
did not know that, thanks for the info!

- Countering a Revenge Counter costs *one* skill point
- Using Super Perception to reflect/dissipate a ki blast gives you a boost to your ki charging for 10s (it's 3 stacks of the ki charge buff).
Like Globku said it is not the perfect polished game but it is certainly the best Dragonball Game we had so far
wdym it's not straight up bt4 when this is next installment in the series...??

I enjoyed the Goku Black what ifs, but even though every node always branched off to a different path, it did kinda feel like it always ended the same.
HOWEVER
The what if Black never fused has ALWAYS felt like the something i strongly agreed with.
Tanking/deflecting beams with perception increases your ki charge speed significantly. I wouldn't say it's completely unnecessary.
Or imo let people vanish cancel. Some characters like Tapion or Zamasu can already do this. Just apply it to everyone.
I love the detail we can put background anime music in sparking mode
one of the things about this game that the earlier entries did not have = UPDATES
With massive postitive reception and activity I think they will continue to improve the game over the coming year with the DLCS.
I see a lot of people saying "its nearly perfect" -- I think if people communicate those points we will actually see them in the game
Not mentioning the lack of stages and annoying VO in menus saying the same line every single time you press a button is wild.
Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might be the best anime game ever
It is bro. Straight up. No what ifs or maybes.
It is, easily
I like the game and all, but damn, what a low bar to set… :(
Raging blast 3?
Bt3 was better
Love Sparking zero been playing online after 100% the story mode love it ngl it’s everything I hoped it’ll be and more 😊
I think it delivered especially if we consider what the last game was.
Expectations were extreme high and I personally got satisfied
I’ve been waiting for this review 🙏
Dr. Wheelo cheese at 5:08 triggered some sort of PTSD for me
😂
“The roster is meant to be unbalanced so that its accurate to the source material”
The accuracy to the source material in question:
Yajirobe and other stall-out characters dominating top online teams more than Beerus.
speaking of hating ranked matches, how do you counter giant characters?
custom battles are one of the best things they did, every arena fighter would benefit from a mode like this
This was the review I was looking forward to the most. I knew you were taking your time on this, so that you could be as objective as possible when discussing everything the game has to offer
Globku to avoid vanish battles you can dodge out of it with x on PlayStation yourr side step button press that instead of r1 it back steps you back into fighting neutral
Only a few characters can perform that tech

A great review by the way. Great as always 👍🏾
It's got more than 182 characters in total.
So far, I've unlocked 182 and still got zamasu, goku black, and the transforms/fusion that goes with them.
We need a 5 players vs 5 players gamemode !!
(further incentivising the use of Super Z Counter)
3- Super counter: Should cost 1/4 bar of ki (you got hit, if you want to escape you gotta spend ki)
Less expensive than Z counter now being half a bar so still viable against vanishing assault if you want to take the risk in order to retake the ki lead.
If the opponent Z counters your super counter you both still have the option to use Super Z Counter to go back to neutral.
That's it for the Vanishing/Z counter mechanic, what do you think?
Next is ki blasts
1- Weak Ki blasts should NOT interrupt ki charge.
Ki blasts:
1-Hard take, but I would say no, please no.
If I may add:
1-Recovery is horrible atm.
If this game doesn’t lose its honeymoon period, it’s gonna need some REALLY thorough updates.
@@8bitdiedieThere's no real reason for 180 characters. Same for 164 in BT3. They're just there for those who want to use them
@@iramadrama8208 The fact you treat the roster like it’s just there to nostalgia-pander is pretty sad.
I’m loving the game! But you can 100% see Jump Force in the way the characters move in story mode
Lol I know the Open Field stage was build of the JF version because of the snowy area in the background. It's normal to reuse assets but it's kinda funny to me
The main feature i want in an update is moveset changes so we can put some of the movesets we had in the storymods on the characters we use
Everything I would like to see changed:
1. vanish wars should go into a clash
2. dp costs adjusted (why do almost all of frieza's forms cost the same?)
3. ability cooldowns (sparking mode spam is lowkey kinda annoying especially when I play my heart out dodging the first one, so either add a cooldown or reduce the amount of skill gauge build up from vanishing)
4. super counters shouldn't be able to be used with attacks from behind but revenge counters should
5. adjust chain attack inputs (if I'm trying to do a super I should be forced into chain attacking which my opponent can easily vanish)
otherwise, love the game
Hope that when Superhero dlc comes out they add story alongside it. Doubtful since we don’t get the Broly movie in the story but whatever. Gameplay is really what matters and it’s everything I wanted.
Disagree
I missed an entire section of the review and had to rewind because I was too deeply invested in the story of Bergamo narrowly escaping becoming Roshi's dinner
Since I’m not a dbz fan I could not care less abt this game, but seeing every TH-camr that I follow spam videos abt this game is a hard challenge for me..🤣🤣
You didn't even have to let us know that much honestly You could have just kept that to yourself.

10:37 “You’re a disgrace to Saiyan!” 🗣️🗣️
not one review so far has actually talked about the gameplay.
Adding a search bar would be extremely helpful, as just searching for a coherent sentence with the word “training” in it took almost an hour for me 😭
Still the game is amazing, but the devs should really consider adding some small QOL to custom battles, as it is the mode that will keep this game alive for years to come, especially for those that like PVE and What If scenarios.
Best review of the game I've seen so far. I love this game, but I recognize the problems you pointed here as well.
Thanks for your time and effort.
This year looks interesting when it comes to video games and when it comes to sparking zero i don't know how to feel about it yet
Super counter works well when the opponent keeps mashing the square button, using it for other types of attacks takes insane timing
Im gonna say no way they got their cutscenes like that yet make such a good game
They need to add Aura Costumization, it was in Raging blast 2 and in Ultimate Tenkaichi, its wild that they never done that again.
11:54 As someone who loves the custom battle creator, we desperately need a patch for the scene editor. Even just a search bar would be incredibly helpful.
A search bar is a MUST man cant find anything I’m sick of scrolling endlessly
Lowkey waited on ur review before I bought it 🎉thank u a is pretty rare 🎉🎉
I am probably the only person who doesn't mind the story cutscenes being 'rushed'. I enjoy the what if lore and just skip what I already no, so I guess it's better they saved
on that so we have an enjoyable experience
Title Screen Man is consistently validated.
Seen as there’s so much good with this game, I’m gonna talk about its downsides
1. The stage selection feels very limited. The stages we have are great but there’s still some obvious ones missing. The main 4 being Kami’s Lookout, Beerus’ Planet, the unnamed planet and an ice themed stage. However, these can all be added in updates
2. Still, this can be sorted out with updates
3. The Episode Battles were very low budget. The What Ifs were fantastic but the canon storyline was done extremely poorly. Some examples being Majin Vegeta’s final explosion looking dreadfully bad and the storytelling being okay at best. However, it’s obvious the effort went towards the what if stories for that mode and I think they were all fantastic
4. Custom battle creation menus. Who sorted those menus?
Those are all the issues I’ve faced as someone who’s not played online ranked matches. Some of the characters look disgustingly annoying to fight against like Yajirobe, Giants and Afterimage Strike users but I’ve not gotten into that much yet
Fantastic game 92/100
- Good things: I'm enjoying a lot, it's a good game and it improves all the bad things its predecessor has, the graphic is really cool and the gameplay feels smooth enough
- ""complains"" (these aren't really complains but are just my thoughts): the explosions of many special moves are always the same they could do a bit more for gave them more peculiar effects, the roster is SO BIG, So big that every character play the same. I can understand they had to work a lot on putting all these characters but a bit more variety in their movesets and different combos for each character maybe would helped with the variety of the gameplay
Remembering LittleBigPlanet, Custom Battle has me excited and worried in the same breath, especially the copy feature
Yh I see the cutscenes and they look motion captured a little awkward. But the fact that this is a game where a single patch can change everything its definitely a great game
Fully customizable controls would be really nice
Better review than IGN. More in depth of the game.
The lack of Goku's farming outfit from Super made me a little sad.
This is all I could ever want in a story mode. I prbly would've gotten it launch week if it weren't for Metaphor ReFantasio.
Vid gonna be fire
thanks for the review
We need more time or unlimited time playing against CPU because we don't have time to use 5 characters.
Totally agree. It’s really fun but it has a lot of issues too. People are letting their DBZ love cloud their judgement.
I just hope they don't change the game too much, for me this game is perfect, a true sequel to Budokai Tenkaichi 3
It’s like every match starts to play the same
It’s just stay on them and don’t give them the opportunity.
Raging blast just plays and feels better in everyway.
like sparking zero is like an actual party game. its fun but its not more solid than raging blast 2
that demon slayer cut scene killed me xd 6:16
Continua com o excelente trabalho, abraço de Portugal
I love this game and definitely keeps me up all night. It's not perfect and needs a couple of patches, but still a very fun Dragon Ball game.
Buying on PC is way more worth it than on console
Why? Pc?
Now I wait for the Budokai revival, surely it'll happpen :)
The problem with the balance is that Dragon balls lack of it is the worst part of the show. You took the fundamental flaw in the show and made it a fundamental flaw in your game.
Goku black catching all the strays 😂😂
My only negative about the game is the episode battle, like the omissions mentioned (U6 vs U7 arc, tournament of destroyers arc, etc), as well as omission of many story accurate maps and costumes (which were present in BT3), making the story at times inaccurate. Episode battle definitely seemed like a lazy attempt (aside from what ifs).
I think maybe a vanish clash would help with the vanish battles like if you both vanish eachother it’ll clash
I dont understand how the net code can be shit in every single one of bandais games. Cant count how many full freezes the game has had while playing online.
The worst I've encountered is some stuttering, but it's not often. This game's net code is really solid.
I just got dragon ball sparkling zero thanks for helping me decide
The story mode can do a total 180 of it gets updates semi-regularly
BT3s tech was basically just jank abuse. this games movement feels far closer to a dbz game then anything.
