I have no idea why people would prefer a outdoor mall shopping strip vs a nice indoor mall like this one once was especially in the winter time when it is freezing?
When it was built, it was the largest single indoor air-conditioned space in the country, if not the world. Unfortunately, the construction of Northbrook Court and Woodfield was the beginning of the end. They tried to reinvent Randhurst a few times over the years, but it wasn't enough. I have very fond memories of Randhurst as a kid. The most significant was in 1980 watching my older brother type in and run a small BASIC computer program into a TRS-80 Color Computer, model 1, 2 or 3 at Radio Shack. That was the single moment when I decided I would grow up to be a Computer Programmer and I never looked back.

This mall was so legendary. so many memories..even a bomb shelter in it.....
Yes, the bomb shelter was such a cool concept. It was designed to hold every citizen of Mout Prospect at the time.
That was one of the coolest buildings ever made, it's a shame it wasn't repurposed for something else.
I agree.
