Nice video. I'll keep all my Revolution Civil War Series Games because I like that Blind Swords system as well. Black Swan has a little different feel to it with the cards along with Command and Control. Very similar, but a little different - which does take some adjustment in play. So far, we've played only 2 shorter scenarios in the 2nd Edition and the Rebs didn't really even come close to victory, but that's the way the cards play out. Setting up a 3rd medium size now. It's a beautiful game though and any ACW player should have this game. Congrats to Herman Luttmann. RIP Rick Barber. Well done.
Your blog post was excellent thanks. Thanks for covering it. I’m not an ACW gamer and only have this one, but glad I backed it. The game comes through video really well, maybe it is the size that helps. Everyone’s coverage is fun to watch, of course yours is the best, don’t tell Gimpy.
I prefer Blind Swords (all of Revolution’s games are keepers), but I do understand why they had to go to Black Swan due to the sheer size of Gettysburg.
Thanks for this video. You did a great job explaining how the system works, and it's always useful to hear opinions after someone has spent a significant amount of time playing the game. I guess I'll be getting this when it gets its second printing. 🙂
"who are all these bastards"! I love it! Order of battle is where I start studying ACW history (or any others) Good video. Just got my copy (2nd edition) Can look daunting at first but when you look a bit harder it kinda comes clear. Im sure as clear as mud with some things! Im soon to find out! Thanks!
Thanks for your thoughts on this one - this was actually my first ever ACW game and I had a lot of fun with it but at the end traded my copy away - whilst there's a lot that I've liked about the game (components, combat resolution etc.) I ended up really disliking activation system. I've written a short review on BGG highlighting what I perceive are the issues with it :( Now also have GMT's US Civil War, we'll see if I like it more :)

Glad it was helpful!.. And it will be our little secret! ;)

got ya!!
Thank you, close to a year of testing went into the game. Flying Pig Games let our imagination run wild and it really turned out well.
:)
Sure wish this was not out of stock, your video makes me want to try it. Thanks for explanation of game play.
No problem! Kickstarter coming in October is what I heard.
Should have done charts like the ones in The Devil’s To Pay. Those were laid out well
nice idea

I have been waiting for your review of this one 😀
Hope you like it!
Note I wrote up an article also.
Any ETA on a second printing / upgrade kit? I love the game and would definitely buy updated player aids
October kickstarter for reprint 2nd edition updates
i wonder how the game would play using sleds so that you do not know the morale or strength of units your are attacking?😄
LOL wow No thanks!
So, the solo play is pretty good then?
I like it, as the card play adds an element of chaos as do several other factors.
