It has been 4 year with my Dominar 400, and I have driven it around 30k kms. I live in Himachal Pradesh, and I regularly drive it on narrow mountain village roads. Keeping that in mind, I think I’m qualified enough to give my honest opinion on this bike. First of all, let’s talk about the positives. No doubt, it’s a heavy bike, but the size of the bike will give you an essence of driving an expensive higher cc bike. Moreover, the heavy weight is good for high speed highway rides. To be honest, it’s the best combination of power and comfort if you are going to ride on highways. If you put on some good tyres, you even can lean it much more with more confidence. It’s very stable at high speeds and the exhaust note is one of the best in 400cc segment (mainly in the upgraded Dominar, not the oldest one). The touring kit which bajaj provides with this bike is actually useful and has enhanced the practicality. It’s a power cruiser, but it’s also capable to do some amount of off-roading(not hard core, but for majority of people, it’s enough). I have done Ladakh, Spiti, Sach Pass on this bike, and can assure you that it’s manageable to do some kind of off-roading with this bike. Although, the weight is on higher side, yet the power is there. The last point might not resonate with everyone, but in my opinion, if you do some tasteful modifications in it, the road presence of the bike will overshadow the other 400cc bikes. Now, about the negatives. Obviously, 193 kgs is very heavy to manage, and if you are riding with a pillion, it’s a nightmare at slower speeds, mainly in traffic. Sometimes if I want to move backwards, I have to ask some other person to pull the bike from behind. If you are taller than 5’9”, it might be easy for you, but if you are shorter, it’s a big task. The bike has a high revving engine, which means that you need to change the gears more frequently. Riding at lower speeds, especially in cities is not enjoyable. You will rarely get the chance to use higher gears in cities. The front brakes of the bike is amazing, but the rare brake lacks the response . The handle of the bike feels heavy, so it’s difficult to manage at lower speeds. You can get the average of around 30-32 kms on highways and 25-27 kms in cities. If you are doing hyper riding, you can even get an average of less than 20kms. It all depends on how you ride the bike. Now about the after sales service. No doubt, it’s a Bajaj, you should not expect a great hospitality from them, but I’m very fortunate with this regard. My service centre has a separate bay for Dominar, and the people there give more priority to D400. The spare parts are easily available(you need not to wait for months for a part to arrive). Now some extra points, which might be helpful. The smaller screen which sir was talking about, you need not to look at the lower screen for information. You can transfer the information of smaller screen to the upper main screen. The D400 will perform the best if serviced regularly. Otherwise, the bike will become stiff and noisy. Overall, it’s a good and a mature bike. The service centres are available everywhere, and the pricing of the bike is also amazing. I will definitely recommend this bike to a rider who wants to cover long distances with comfort.
Watching this as thankfully i didnt sell my 2017 bs domi 400 abs. Lovely bike still going strong. Main reason why i didnt buy the vstrom but bought the xpulse rally edition . So i kept the domi. The new bikes arent smooth. They have made it single spark plug
To be frank...hero asc in mumbai mahim are dam good. Never had a issue in ownership with xpulse from nov 2022. Infact had a issue with re on a brand new 350 standard maroon. March 2024 purchase. They had not done my insurance update with chasis and engine number and also hadnt updated hsrp status on vahan site and thankfully my agent told me so. But new bullet is smooth as hell with J series and the seat is a sofa.
Sir mene 20 days before hi purchase Kiya and fully satisfied with D400 New update: The bike is break down after 185 km driven Service center still figure out the issue.

The new Dominar 400 with company fitted touring accessories looks very promising. And you have pointed out the behaviour of bike showroom attitude perfectly.... Infact in some cases showroom persons behave very rudely with prospective customers by judging them on their attire.
and bajaj avanger was pretty comfortable ride only good benefit quick hack was you could start it by any other person's avanger's key had some key set issue which was common for most of avengers
I was in love with Dominar for almost 2 years and made plans to buy it one day. I knew it was a long time since it got any good updates, but I was willing to compromise a bit. When I saved up enough, I got a test ride. That's when I realised, it's not for me. It didn't feel that connection. And that's why you should always get a test ride, a longgg one. Well, after that I booked himalayan 450, got it delivered after a very long 3 months waiting period, riding it for almost 10 days and I'm loving every second with it✨
have one neighbor still uses bajaj 180 fastest Indian with spoke wheel and 15 liter massive fuel tank he had in Red still rides it even its papers are expired but sir ive hear that Hero karizma coming 450 cc as that Karizma was pretty bike of our times 🏍🏍🏍 with Hrithik Roshan
Now there is a lot of competition in this segment. No service centre for triumph or honda bigwing for about 100 km. I find this much suitable for me. Current owner of gixxer 150, just thinking of upgrade. Found two bikes: dominar and vstorm sx. For next 7 or 8 years if i think dominar should be good. But not yet decided

I asked the showroom guys it's says all accessories comes with new bike I think you have a option not to buy any one
