Eric Carr's drum sound on "Creatures" is huge! IMO, as good of a drum sound as any Zeppelin recording. KI$$ wore so much neon in the 80's, that even Poison was like "WTF???"

An ugly truth is that the Kiss of the 70s would not have survived the 80s when music moved away from what Kiss was doing in the 70s. For "Kiss" to survive, it needed an 80s sound--a sound that the original lineup couldn't create. (Note that Peter and Ace's 80s solo albums were even farther from the 80s sound than what Paul and Gene were doing in Kiss.) Adding Eric Carr and the other guitarists enabled Kiss to remain relevant (but not dominant) for another decade.

Jose Arriola if Ace and Peter had not left, KISS wouldn’t of lasted together... And Ace and Peter definitely helped lay the ground work so the band could get off the ground...but with their addictions, and I’m sure lifestyle differences between Gene and Paul helped with that era of the band ending.

One of me all time favorite bands. I saw them finally on the 96 reunion tour. It was a great show with some mistakes, but overall they were awesome. Sad ending for a band to put two guys out there dressed up as ACE and Peter. Sad to no end, No Ace there is no way I will pay money to see that. Bring back Bruce and Keep Eric out of cat make up. Now,having said that, I Will Pay Good Money for this kind of show, cause it would be AUTHENTIC and not a sham of impostors posing as ACE and Peter. Like the Stones you cant always get what you want!
i finally got my wish in seeing the original 4 members kicking ass in 1996 because i was only 6 ot 7 in the 70's in their prime so i could not see them then and also saw the 'other' farewell tour' with the original 4 of severa; dates with nugent and skid row. and they kicked ass until both pete and ace left for good,i still can't accept eric and tommy but they have now been in the band off and now on since 2002 or so, but peter eric is not and tommy ace he is not so but it is what it is on that, i figure yeah hang it up now yeah end it,that's my opinion.I am like almost 54 now and i still listen to the classic stuff but i do confess i did see the crazy nights tour and it was a totatlly different band it was like seeing a 'tribute' hair band of kiss doing their classic songs to me,just was not the same as the original 4 in the makeup and blowing everything up etc.,i saw 3 of the sold out MSG dates in 1996.

And when they finally did let him go, he immediately recorded his second solo album and released it later that year. Ace ultimately didn't care either. He was there when things were good, when the money was rolling in from sold out concerts, album sales, merchandising, etc. But he chose to abandon ship once the band's popularity began to wane.
@@Supertron1 Sure! I met Lydia Criss in 2009. Very nice woman! Very cool! She said Peter absolutely HATED being in KISS during his final years w/ KISS, 1979 & 1980. Lydia told me Peter really WANTED OUT already in May of 1978 when KISS filmed their cheesy (but wonderful) flick at Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. She told me Ace also wanted to leave in 1978. I bet Gene & Paul were scared shitless at the time. Same again, during the spring of 1980. They gave Peter a chance but he WANTED TO LEAVE. He couldn't care less! Same with Ace in 1982. He couldn't care less either. Both had severe health issues, mentally & physically. Such a shame cos those two guys, together, in their right "state of mind", musically & mentally, together w/ Paul & Gene, were just pure dynamite. Top Notch! Such a shame the original KISS tenure only lasted about six or seven years.
Gene and Paul are the backbone of the band and I bet they are pain in the asses to work with, I’m sure with the personalities that Peter and Ace had, wanting to party and live it up with the money they were making, wasn’t anywhere near the lifestyle that Gene and Paul were living, I’m sure walking into rehearsal hungover or stoned working with a couple of guys that were straight laced and there to work, wasn’t a very pleasant experience.
Watch Peter's drum solos in the 70's and his unique jungle ryhthems and watch your 2 Eric's? Voice wise Peter obviously blows any drummer away!!! The Eric's are great drummers, but the whole package and for the original lineup and music they were playing!!! Peter hands down, even on coke and booze!!! Lol I am out, have a good night

As much as i love Eric Carr, Eric Singer has a better attitide than Carr did. Carr was so worried about getting fired that he almost ruined the whole experience of being in KISS. I mean Carr watched Singer on Paul's solo tour in 1989 and said "that's the guy who's going to replace me in KISS". He was so insecure it's not funny. There's a part of me who really likes what Singer brings to the table. Not only a great drummer but also a great attitude

Ace ultimately didn't care either. He was there when things were good, when the money was rolling in from sold out concerts, album sales, merchandising, etc. But he chose to abandon ship once the band's popularity began to wane.

Lydia told me Peter really WANTED OUT already in May of 1978 when KISS filmed their cheesy (but wonderful) flick at Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. She told me Ace also wanted to leave in 1978. I bet Gene & Paul were scared shitless at the time. Same again, during the spring of 1980. They gave Peter a chance but he WANTED TO LEAVE. He couldn't care less! Same with Ace in 1982. He couldn't care less either. Both had severe health issues, mentally & physically. Such a shame cos those two guys, together, in their right "state of mind", musically & mentally, together w/ Paul & Gene, were just pure dynamite. Top Notch! Such a shame the original KISS tenure only lasted about six or seven years.
Gene and Paul are the backbone of the band and I bet they are pain in the asses to work with, I’m sure with the personalities that Peter and Ace had, wanting to party and live it up with the money they were making, wasn’t anywhere near the lifestyle that Gene and Paul were living, I’m sure walking into rehearsal hungover or stoned working with a couple of guys that were straight laced and there to work, wasn’t a very pleasant experience.

As much as i love Eric Carr, Eric Singer has a better attitide than Carr did. Carr was so worried about getting fired that he almost ruined the whole experience of being in KISS. I mean Carr watched Singer on Paul's solo tour in 1989 and said "that's the guy who's going to replace me in KISS". He was so insecure it's not funny. There's a part of me who really likes what Singer brings to the table. Not only a great drummer but also a great attitude
