Great video and I agree - great pedal and probably the most important effect! Especially with the amount of flexibility you can achieve with the RV-6 it’s fantastic. I like the Shimmer with tone low, but use Modulate a lot as well.
Good information. I have an MXR reverb and it really delivers a great sound. I've always wanted to try a Boss reverb,as a backup. Reverb makes such a full sound for the congregation. I couldn't imagine playing without one.
Modulate is my favorite setting, I do love my RV -6, I use it with my Ovation, I am very happy with this combination for my acoustic gigs ! ...

Great video. I had a hof mini. I replaced the mini with a boss rv-6. Along with the rv-6 I put a dd-7 and a boss pre-amp. Your right the rv -6 is an awesome pedal. Blessings

Glorious review! I use this too, and if you put an MXR reverb with pad setting infront of it and set the tone to max you can push that on when you get to the climax of a speech or in a song! That always gets people;)
The thing I like best about your demo is how subtle the RV6 is in your mix ... unlike every other demo I've seen on TH-cam. I can actually hear your acoustic. Nice work! Ordered mine today.

One effect that I use a lot if 'shimmer' which can now be found on several multi-FX pedals such as Electro Harmonix Canyon, Oceans 11 and Epitom3 (the latter (for me) being not quite as good as the other two. Perhaps the best shimmer effect can be found on the T.Rex Soul Mate Acoustic multi-FX pedal board ... but it's pricey. However, you get a whole bank of effects for acoustic guitar. Brilliant demo of it in part of a combined demo/tutorial by the wonderful Peter Honoré (Danish Pete) Check out Reverb at 16.50+ and Shimmer at 21.11. As with all Pete's demos, he plays with great subtlety.
Just got the TC Electronics Hall of Fame 2 pedal. Has the same features. Thought the shimmer would be a gimmick but I love it - in the right place. Another great pedal and it’s a bit cheaper than the Boss. Haven’t even started to look at the TonePrint side of it yet!
Get the BOSS Pedal, they are so well made and sound great
I spent weeks reviewing reverb pedals and ended up purchasing the RV-6 because it was offered on no interest payment plan at guitar dealer and fit my budget needs (thank you BOSS for making that option available👍). I am so satisfied with this pedal and it is so versatile and easy to use. Couldn’t agree more with this review. The “price point” of this pedal and what you get in form of features is a no brainer;)

Great video I was wondering if I go with a pedal effect or made my own. And I heard for acoustic it's better to have analog effect. So what is your full settings ?
I play at church with keyboard, bass drum and lead guitar. But once a week I lead the pray with only acoustic.
I like delay effect and reverb. Does I need anything else?

Don’t have the RV6 could of got it when it came out. Have had a RV5 since almost 2006 only use it for the Mod setting alone ever though all the other settings are still really good.
I play guitar at a local House of Prayer. I stumbled across a video of an Alexander Sky Fi and bought one. It combines reverb and delay on one pedal and is capable of ambient sounds. I use it with acoustic and electric guitars. It makes a huge difference. Other than an acoustic pre-amp for EQ and tone, thats all I use for acoustic.

If you review it on TH-cam, there is only one video (that I know of) with an acoustic guitar. The guy is pretty good on the guitar. I would recommend watching that video.
When you lengthen the time it sounded like you gave it some strings behind the guitar...wow!
Would this stuff still sound good if I'm just doing normal strumming or would it mix too much? I'm new to worship leading and it's just me with acoustic guitar and my voice.

You had me worried when you said “it’s not going to be a good review of it”. I thought you were going to pan it, big time. haha. I love my RV-6, and use it on my fretless.
what can you recommend, i only play ukulele and i find it that my instrument is not loud enough, and it is only connected to a DI device, i am using a piezo p/up. i want something will ehance the sound but loud enough to be heard.

I love my RV6, but I don't know if god would approve of the shimmer setting, might seem like a sonic Jacob's Ladder where the frequencies are reaching for heaven.

Hi. Would you use this during songs as well or just mostly during pastor speaker support etc?
I use it during songs depending on what the keys are covering. If there is a lot of pad and or strings already in the mix, I will just use a little hall verb.
Worship Leader Hangout sounds good thank you. And if there is no keys, is there a setting you recommend? I also sing and play acoustic and lead worship- never with a pedal tho.

I agree Boss is great for the price. I could not afford Strymon Blue Sky . My secret affordable go to pedal is the Shiftline A+ astronaut, It is a great weird ambient reverb 4 worship, great with volume swells .

You should try a Strymon BigSky.
jammin4good I bought a RV6 for $75 on Reverb. I also have a bunch of Strymon gear. In the mix, the RV is just as good. The BigSky is probably the best reverb machine on the market (IMO), but a player on a budget can get killer tones for a fraction of the price.
FWIW, I’m using the Volante as my ambient background, but it’s in a class all its own.
YES! I have a Strymon BlueSky amd it sounds wonderful on acoustic. Much more musical and rich.
Put a delay before the reverb for an even greater effect.

If this was 5 or 7 years ago, I'd agree with this video. However, I think you need to make a new video called "Every Worship Leader Should Have An Ambient Reverb In Their Arsenal". I used to have the RV-5 and it was my favorite pedal, unfortunately it was somehow lost in the move. I just recently bought a Line 6 Pod Go and it has similar but better reverbs. I have been doing alot if research abd finding alot of pedals around the same price as the Boss but better sounding.

Every worship leader *should* have this pedal?... It's €180 in my country.... Can't afford that, but I can still make great worship music. Maybe next time try "Best pedal for worship leaders" as a title?
