I can't tell you how many times i've tried to make this project and if it wasn't the cops and BELIEVED me I tried everything but glass cups and then the staples, I bought 4 of them and then I tried to glue them NOPE that didn't work either so I stopped trying to make this and believe me I tried everything but I just couldn't get it done. I can't believe what I spent on trying to make this beautiful lite of a ball of lights. I am so sorry for being so negative about this project but I don't know how or what I was doing wrong. But it's a beautiful thing to make but good luck to all WHO TRIES.

I used to do arts and crafts back in the 90s I stopped when I got my apartment I did all the crafts to decorate my house with now it's called DIY projects I saw this Lantern years ago also made a cups plastic cups it's still a nice item but it's a lot of work seems like a lot of work that's when you have time A lot of time good luck happy decorating

I still have some of these that I made years ago......and are just as beautiful. my kids always called them the new years ball that drops in Time Square .....mine has christmas lights in them and that makes them glitter more. We made some in colored lights and some in solid color lights and some in white lights they were beautiful.

It is very easy.. I think all resturant or hotel owners should do this.. As they are dealing with this plastic glass daily (for water tea juice) And decorate their shops by these lamps. Very good idea

Thats a good question. Its been 40 days since i made it. I decorated it infront of the house and i dont see the cups melting. As long as your sure about the distance from cup to bulb. ^_^

I dont see alternative for bulb. But you can use Christmas lights as well.
