I am impressed by how SSLs can litteraly beat you at your own game if you give them like 10 mins. Wonder if this could work in Dodgeball. Great video !
That's honestly a really good point. Like, if it's not soccar, and some SSL's or GC's get practice beforehand and pros don't, it's a very lopsided challenge, despite the pros being the literal "best of the best"
@Tea_Toe My belief is that even if it's not soccar the pros would still be able to make some kind of comeback in a relatively short time because they have the ability to adapt , analyse and learn on the go which casual palyers even up in SSL don't focus on.
@@matmar-4356 haha it was a cube they have advantage on a normal ball but not on the cube thats like saying u have 3k hours on a game and then a guy with 1k hours in the same game plays against u in another game where he has more experience in 😂 and okay they have the skills of flicks/ control or air dribble maybe but with that cube all that is gone so even if they had 10k hours more u guys should have won u played for 2 weeks straight on that thing and those guys never even touched the car on a cube before that match with u guys started. One of the most original ideas for a RL video I have seen in years. It shows that there are endless possibilities in this game, and it only takes a bit of motivation like being in a video like this to drive people to get those neurons firing and develop something brand new.
@@Rocket_Sledge just wanted to add this, as I would like to get this sort of feedback if I were in your shoes: It was captivating to hear the realizations of the players as time went by. Hearing their thoughts and how something awkward and new brought struggle, but how with a little time something frustrating became something to look forward to. It's a beautiful message that resonates from this project: "At first glance something may seem difficult, but if you persist and allow yourself some time to adapt you might even find excitement in the challenge itself." It's what made this video special to me. Thanks for the reminder.
honestly it would destroy me seeing that my two weeks of effort were only enough to win one game. im glad they didnt take it badly but as a great experience
I have to say, It's very smart to just turn the scoreboard off and record the postgame highlights. I would never have thought of that, but it's a great way to get a video summary of a game with little work.
I think the footage you might be referring to is actually just replays of goals that happen during the game? Because I've never tried to use after game highlights, they are too erratic and random.
Crazy how much control over a cube you can get with just a little practice. How about the 2 SSL practice it for a couple weeks and then you put them in a 2v3?
Reminds me of the time me and my friend made a cube ball tourney with all the craziest mutators just for a laugh. We expected like one or two opponents at most but somehow 82 people ended up joining. We were beyond thrilled but of course we then got hammered in the first round.
It would definitely have been cool to get a control game of normal rocket league thrown in as well to compare how much of an advantage they really got, but dope video either way
I still do the occasional gentle boomer cube with beach ball curve. You want to see the unpredictable bounces take a whole different meaning, beach ball curve changes everything.
The backflip when using both air roll and the button nI use for half flip. I think it's air roll left or right. and it launches the ball insanely high. found that out quite a while ago. never really bothered to tell anyone since figured people already used it. can't really name a mechanic that's already been using for years anyways.
I think its impossible to have strategy with a completely unpredictable thing like the cube in rocket league so the best you can do is just play like its a ball, and hope for good bounces
They are pretty fun! They have appeared in a few of my videos, notably the one I plugged at the end of this and also a recent experiment where they each took a platinum into SSL 2v2.
SSL's have much better fundamental mechanics(car control) which allows them to learn mechanics faster than other players even if its striking a cube ball , thats why the SSL's adapted so well , purely because of superior car control and other fundamentals
The ssl’s only won because of game sense and slightly better mechanics but they didn’t know much about how the cube operated like the GC’s. If they had the same knowledge they could’ve won
GC is so wide.tzere are Players in GC who don't have even airroll on a key and never air dribble or flip or don't even know how (that's me) and then there are mechanical masterclasses who don't understand the meaning of Teamplay or map awareness so GC isn't GC xD
That is more proof that there is many different skills that make up GC, but you dont need all of them to get there. If you have all of them mastered you most likely are high GC.
I have no idea what this could be referring to. As most of this video is regular director cam/player POV which seem to have pretty standard camera settings.

The training definitely paid off mechanically, the GC's could consistently hit the cube straight, which is pretty difficult
The parallelapop is the greatest name of a mechanic I’ve ever heard
I am very glad I was able to coach Mal by letting him know all the things he should definitely not do in Cube Ball... They grow up so fast 😭

I usually don't win any games so 1 game is better than 0, hence why I said the last 2 SSL games were like my ranked matches (Mal)
Quite the fun 2.5v1.5 between MatMar, Mal, and half of Polaarr vs the other half of Polaarr and staar
