@@youthspent Not true. It's true those on juice CAN in theory work harder than natties due to better recovery, but in reality that is often not the case. I was natty, and rarely found anyone, juiced or not that trained as hard as me. There were a few exceptions, and to be fair I started at like 13 so i had a head start, but still. The juicers had one hell of an easier time getting results though. If anything, they could get away with being less disiplined. Their sleep, and eating habbits didn't matter as much as mine did.

As a natural, tiny, 100-120 pounder.... I had the dream of getting into Pro Wrasslin. I trained and took the "weight gainer", went to the gym more than often... I got myself hovering between 190-210 pounds, solid muscle. When going to get looked at to make certain states with athletic commissions would give me the "OK", I was told I had been and needed to stop putting so much stress on my heart. I was "too big" for what I was genetically capable of, and was squeezing my insides harder than my outsides looked. Training in the martial arts and swimming, I grew plenty of muscle tone, and a bit of size. With the second method, I had better breathing, flexibility and from what the doctors said, better health. Bodybuilding, like anything has to be done responsibly.

Dude there is truth in what you are saying. As a teenager in the 1980's I was a skinny puny guy and aways was the butt of the joke so I trained and ate well and went from 105 pounds to 180 pounds of muscle due to weight gaining and intense workouts. From age 20 to 26 I got huge but at the age of 27 I developed agonizing burning pain in my calves (which were huge) and 13 years later was finally diagnosed with Chronic exertional compartment syndrome. I had to undergo a deep posterior fasciotomy on both calves (long scars) to relieve the pressure which was immense. I still suffer chronic pain in the calves as nerves have been damaged and now my workouts are much more measured and targeted now as you are 100% correct that genetically there is a limit to what a slender frame can take. I urge people to watch out for nerve burning pain that starts slowly and builds over years and for slender dudes to aim to get a decent body but don't push things to the extreme.

They told me of having 'roid rage and having physical side-effects. One stopped just before he started to put hands on his wife and the other suffered soft bones and weak connective tissue from gaining too much weight much too rapidly. He got into a bar fight, got sucker-punched, and broke his jaw - and as soon as his jaw wires were taken out, he stepped off a low curve and broke his ankle. Being a Marine is hard and aggressive enough but when you add in anger/aggression issues and put steroids on top of our training and treatment, it's too much and can be a recipe for disaster - people can get hurt or worse.

But did you want to look like THOSE men? Or just an average competition bodybuilder? I worry about the mental health of men who don't realize how grotesque and distorted they look to others once the desire to bulk up is taken that far. At a certain point it becomes a mental disorder that should be addressed psychologically rather than promoted and accepted in competitions. The cases presented are clearly examples of extreme body dysmorphia (as similarly witnessed in skeletal anorexics who believe they appear heavy) when the desire to gain muscle is taken that far.
Because you didn't go the route of drugs to achieve that distorted physique is a testament to your mental stability concerning your body. The saddest story was that of the family man who came to his senses too late and lost his life. It's distressing to me that competitions continue to allow psychologically damaged men who are as unnaturally distorted as the men in the video, who are slowly killing themselves, to compete, while turning a blind and uncaring eye as though anyone can get this way without chemical help.
What's ironic is that the majority of women are NOT typically attracted even to the build of natural bodybuilders in such competitions--most prefer athletic and very toned versus exaggerated muscles. Veins bulging through muscle and muscles bulging though clothing is not that cute, but at least the creepy factor isn't visually triggered. The men in the video look monstrous and disturbing to me. I'd likely feel compelled to cross the street if one was approaching!
