I've been culturing for almost exactly a year now. Mostly to feed clownfish larvae but I feed my reefs as well. Particularly things like non photosynthetic gorgonians, but almost anything in a mouth will take them. The biggest thing holding them and phytoplankton from being more mainstream is that you don't see instant changes. IE buying 1 million you will see a feeding response but then that's it. You need to add a million a week or more. So culturing them yourself or getting them locally is really required to be cost effective. RG Complete does make things much much easier. I now do my own live phytoplankton but at the start it would have been overwhelming and having RG Complete in the fridge that is very easy to measure out paved the way to my success. Reef Nutrition shares so much great information in addition to their great products. This video was really well done and informative. Before I started I watched tons of videos and read a bunch of articles. This was definitely more in depth than most if not all of the other videos. When people ask me questions I'll refer them to this.
Hi and thank you so much for the kind words. Chad and RN does such wonderful work and I agree with what you said 100%. I wonder if it will ever go mainstream as it is wonderful addition to the biodiversity. I'm considering on having them in my sump like Chad said on the video haha.
This type of creature speak to my heart :), Phyto, Rotifer, Copepods, Amphipod, my kind of stuff, love it. I once had one of my phytoplankton culture being crashed, turn out it was rotifer, hey, happy little accident :P Coral responds better with rotifer than dosing phyto from what I've noticed.
Old or news videos always I love to watch your videos full of informations and knowledge. Thanks buddy
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words! :)
Awesomely awesome video!

I knew you would like it 😆
Best salinity and temp to make them multiply the fastest?
Do rotifers feed on bacteria suspended in water column?
That's a great question. Let me get chad to answer that for you.
While bacteria isn't highly nutritious for them like phytoplankton is, they will consume bacteria.
