It would be easier by watching previous episodes, but the background is this: Gigan arrived to monster Island in order to demonstrate he is a tough guy, and beated up Anguirus and Baragon on a bad way. Little G approached to him trying to befriend him, but Gigan beated him UP as well, so his big Brother Godzilla (yes, in this story ark Godzilla, Little G and Minilla are siblings) alongside Anguirus and Baragon came quite angry to punish the cyborg, so they enclosed him in an underground trap. Later on Gigan came out, apparently feeling bad of seeing he was not as rude he thought, then Little G reappears trying to befriend him again, but this time willing to help Gigan by train with him. The training consisted on endurance tests where Gigan try to endure tickles, cold, heat and spikes like is shown here. Both monsters started to became friends during that (kinda sort) On the other hand, the Doraths/Heisei Ghidorah are bullies that simply like to cause trouble. They intended to steal a Rodan egg and later the new born baby Rodan to eat him, but was saved by Minilla, Godzilla and other monsters. They always are mean and seek for Fight and bully others. I think this serves to understand the set UP here
