Kurapica was sooo amazing, so sad he doesnt play an important role in the 2011 chimera ant arc :/my favourite character! Especially in the 1999 Version!!!
How should i put... I really enjoyed the 1999 vers. Especially bec i love the dark atmosphere and the sad music ... This song fits kurapicas feelings and hatred towards the "spider" so well just listening to it makes me remember all the hard obstacles they had to overcome. I can truly recommend the OVA all parts about Kurapicas story are so intense.. There isnt much new stuff though... The OVA about kurapicas way to master nen and to get revenge for his clan really got me... I cant describe it... It truly changed me. Sorry if that sounded strange but i can recommend the 1999 vers. Ive watched it first and than i startet with the chimera ant arc to be in the right chronological order lol. I cant guarantee that u will like but if u have nothing else to do, and if you love this Ost as well and if you love dark, emotional tone and animation especially the setup.. Well u should now best though. It needs a good storyline and a good background story to make the charakters appealing.And if you love kurapica and u are curious about bis role in the 1999 vers u should watch it m8!! (Hunter exam :Top!!! The arcs + OVA's about kurapicas story : truly amazing(his fight against the spiders is fantastic)...! Just look at his sad face and listen to the song it makes me feel depressed and emotional bec it reminds me of everything he WENT THROUGH!!! Sry for the long replie, sry for my Bad english, but i had to tell you my story about it hehe hope it was helpful, u should know best about yourself and the Kind of things which u want to see and feel in a series... :D ... Kurapika is my favourite Character, and I would love to see more of him. The thing I like about Kurapika is his dedication to his goal and how he strives to achieve that goal. And just like you said, he has also changed me in a sense (may sound a bit strange, but its true... ) I also like dark emotional themes and OSTs so I think I'll grow fond of it. Just let me know about your first impressions, i mean i guess u already heard about the shitstorms about the 1999 and 2011 fanboys who are hating each other bec of every single difference... In my opinion differences are important and the 1999 shows has some really positive aspects the 2011 lacks... But still thats my point of view.. I haven't heard Hisokas voice in 1999 version, but I hope it's somewhat close to the voice in 2011. I cant imagine any other voice that would suit him, hahaha.
