And this OST particularly is making me want to globe the world and seek more and more of secret information.

Watched both versions and while I think 2011 is overall better, there are two things unbeatable in 99 version: - Hunter Exam arc. Unlike 2011, this arc isn't childish and seemed like I was watching a horror movie. Cliffhanger ending in almost every episode and to me it's the best arc of this version by far. Also let's not forget how Madhouse stupidly removed Gon meeting Kite scene in the first episode of the remake. That's the key scene that pulled the trigger for Gon to start his journey and also connects with their reencounter in Chimera Ant arc. - Overall atmosphere. Like I said previously, 99 version is darker and that fits HxH world much better than the 2011 version (even though this one gets dark later on). Knowing this, I would love to see Chimera ant arc in 99 version. And Madhouse should had remastered some 99 version soundtracks for the 2011 version. Just for nostalgia purposes. This is one of them.
I agree, I loved this version a lot..very dark, and a lot more atmospheric and low keyed..one of the traits I loved about it. The new one is good for a newer generation, but feels rushed where the 99 version was more paced. But I will always stand by the 99 version as having the best soundtrack.
and the York New arc in my opinion, even when it has some good episodes. That noir atmosphere in the 1999 adaptation is the best for a mafia-esque arc. 2011 bright palette color and animation is too childish.
Agree. I feel shocked when I saw people said that the Hunter exam arc is the worst when It's one of my favorite. In 1999 they made it very dark and tense with good pace and it feels like they in the edge of life and death on every stage. And they yorknew city arc is also better in the 1999 version
Not to mention atmosphere of places in general, maybe it's because I don't remember the 90's but the small memories of places I do have mostly being hotels and malls had a certain aesthetic to them which was captured in the Heaven's Arena.
You could also argue that Kite took inspiration from Kurama too, Kite being a human reborn into an ant while Kurama a demon being reborn as a human. Also with Feitan and Hiei being both close to design and personality and both having powers relating to fire.

What do I have to say, it's just beautiful memories I used to come quickly from school to watch it when I was young for whom when I re-watched it in its original version I swear I shed tears because this is simply one of the most wonderful anime that has been made ever

When Gon got Hisoka's plaque, it was during a moonless night, everything was dark af, Gon was terrified of Hisoka and you could FEEL the fear that kid was feeling! That same scene in 2011 was so bright I think it was high noon when Gon went for the plaque. That removed all the tension from that scene. Almost feels like they were afraid children would find it too scary and made that scene happen during the day.
Each HxH version has its vibe and 99's version had a special taste that I can't forget 🤧 , and this OST.....is one of the BEST OSTs that I will NEVER forget 💯👍 *Sigh* good childhood memories ☺

First I watched 2011 and was very good, especially late Ant arc (my first true chills of excitement in this anime) And now, after 1 year I'm watching 1999 version and... wooow... chills of excitement all the time, even when I know what's going to hapen. This is art. This anime has a soul. Exactly the same goes to FMA 2003 and FMA:B 2009

Its my mistake and now I am disappointed that I cant continue with the spider and chimera ant arc of 2011 version. He can make Nen concept for combat/ability that is so unique, diverse that no other manga can mimic it. He describe, explain and do innovative things with Nen but with consistent formula and explaination so we can follow it. No other adventure manga like this. Too bad it is hiatus so much , if not we can even travel to wide dark continent

I watched the two versions, 1999 and 2011 and i think this is the best song of them, makes me feel that i need to do so many things in my life just like Gon did in Two years, it's so inspiring
This hxh version was more dark than the new one and for that this old version will always be amazing

if only people know hunter x hunter 1999 version, and follow the current manga last release. people may realize that hunter x hunter may be the best adventure and fantasy manga in history
it si so wide and diverse, unique stories, fantasy with realistic and concistentsy approace, creative combat, not overuse character..... is is so diverse and unpredictable.
even one piece cant reach that level.

Togashi is such a genius en unique writer. Reading different shonen, but HxH feels really distinct from the rest.
@@louayker4249 yeahhh , Nen and hunter exam/profession concept is really original and unique that i can't find it even in western culture or other japan story. He can make Nen concept for combat/ability that is so unique, diverse that no other manga can mimic it. He describe, explain and do innovative things with Nen but with consistent formula and explaination so we can follow it. No other adventure manga like this. Too bad it is hiatus so much , if not we can even travel to wide dark continent
