    I don’t know why people don’t go for the locking flex head. It is a standard flex or locking what ever you prefer.
    I am like you and like the locking flex head for when you are applying heavy torque

    For a 1\2 drive I bought the locking flex head it's worth 275 with the force one would crank I prefer it to stay put 3\8 a regular is fine if a wobble slip won't bust my hand I got the regular handle it just feels better in my hand speaking only for myself

    Not sure if it’s on your model but all my new ones you can pull back on the locking button and to the right to hold the lock in the unlocked position so you in a sense get 3 tools in 1. A straight handle, flex head and locking flex head. Be smart and get these tools at a near 50 percent discount if you ever go to a snapon approved mechanic school. The standard non comfort grip is 120.90

    Got one of those snap on locking in 3/8….my grip is when you want to use unlocked, breathe on it jumps into lock mode

    I just got the SLX80A all of mine are the standard handle except for two that have the hard black handles. My first long handled ratchet was a flex head gear wrench that looks exactly like the matco that bill was having issues with. One thing for sure the long handle ratchets make me feel young again.

    These prices are why I’m thinking of keeping my Walmart job in addition to my new job as a lube tech 😂 I’m wanting a 3/8 long handle locking flex head mostly for popping oil drain plugs with what I’m doing now and since that’s so central to my job I wouldn’t mind that much to pay a ton for it. I’m taking online Penn Foster classes and I get the SEP through them.

    If you pull the flex locker back and to the right you can leave it unlocked if you need the flexibility with a locking ratchet

      chris jones try one out I hate the chrome handles now. One advantage I never thought of before I started using it is that it’s doesn’t scratch paint!

    • @stever5887
      @stever5887 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris--If you haven't tried the comfort grip, you'll appreciate the improved feel over the slippery standard handle. If you work in a part of the country where it snows eight months of the year, you'll appreciate not having to grip an icicle when you pick it up first thing in the morning. And then again later on throughout the day; you get the picture. It's a shame they don't have them on XL combination wrenches, too, but that's a story for another day.

      my94silva1 they are heaven sent ! I love them. Can get into tight spots and they won’t wiggle around on you when your really putting out like the regular flex heads do. I have almost traded all my regular flex heads back in for just locking flex heads.

      Koon Trucking Tech 17 is correct if you pull the locking trigger back and at the same time slide it to the right the becomes a regular flex head rachet w/o locking, I've got the 3/8" & 1/4" they function as the 1/2"

      @@tylerars24 It looks like they don't have long, or extra long, with the lock. Just standard FX80A.
      I have a FLL80, and FHLF80AG. The latter is the long flex head. I just crank down the torx bolt holding the head on until it's super stiff to move. I almost like it better than the locking 1/2" rachet I just got.

    Flex head ratchets aren’t meant to TQ or pull hard that’s why they make TQ ratchets

      Guessing you missed the video where we put the icon ratchet up against the snap on ratchet on a torque meter. Snap on was a fixed head. Icon was a flex head and it destroyed the snap on. No it wasn’t rigged in fact it was shot on a snap on truck and the snap on guy was going to prove a point that his was stronger. The torque meter ended up getting broken in the process trying to make the icon flex head fail. Just saying… th-cam.com/video/Grcpmj-v_nY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3gSocGozIqwwO8yN
