Thank you for shining a light on the industrial logging and the weak response of Labour. What a travesty! A broken promise. They are taking the heart out of the Great Koala National Park. Penny Sharp = koala killer . Thank you the Project for making this public.

Thankyou Project and Channel 10 for reporting on the appalling logging of our native forest. This archaic practice has to stop. It makes no sense environmentally or commercially. Wanton destruction of precious habit and head waters 😢 A National shame.

As a Liberal voter I completely support a Koala National Park. Governments shouldn't break promises. My only negative is having one Kola national park might send a message that only Koalas in that park matter and the rest don't.

Great report and great call. You need to be completely blind to not realising that, as a species, we are and will always be aligned with those koalas and trees being ripped. Mother Nature rules are well beyond economic power or sense of property overall. If we are able to listen, understand and respect such rules, we are respecting our human nature at the same time, which empowers us to create wise, soulful societies able to lead with integrity through challenge and evolution.

The right thing to do is to protect the livelihoods of the families that depend on the timber industry by developing a form of income substitution. The right thing to do is to protect the lives of the koalas that depend on trees in the forest for their survival. That means that ultimately the right thing to do is for the NSW Govt to immediately instruct the Forest Commission to cease and desist from all logging activities in entire area of the proposed Great Koala National Park and, in fairness and consistent with the rule of law, to begin negotiations to buy out all existing commercial contracts that are impediments to this outcome.

Forest stewards seem like something that is what I’d expect a forestry department to do .. but the trust is gone. Perhaps a research institution could manage a stewardship program whereby there is some kind of coordinated resilience building… particularly in recently logged areas where regrowth will be dominated by introduced species that dry out the landscape. Something similar to, perhaps run by or designed by the organisation Country Needs People who already run some wonderful ranger programs.

Your in government Ms. Sharpe. Why are you doing industrial logging in an area you plan to protect. We're working on it is not good enough. I won't trust Labor every again. You can stop logging. That's your magic wand Ms. Sharpe.

Thank you for this comprehensive report that has covered every aspect of the issues that are leading to the extinction of koalas in the proposed Great Koala National Park. If it is as has been stated, that NSW Forestry is making a loss continuing this devastating logging of irreplaceable native trees, surely, there wouldn't be an issue with the government just payong them to STOP logging? As a taxpayer, I’d be happy to pay the loggers and associated industries compensation to not log while a longer term plan is put in place for a complete moratorium on logging of all native forest in NSW

It's stuff all jobs too. Those jobs cost more money than they create and the harm of driving species extinct.. the union is aware there are only a trivial number (in the dozens of jobs) yet that one job with a chainsaw or one with a bulldozer can in a day wreck an entire hillside of habitat

Excuse me, but where is FJ now that Labor is responsible for the very same thing - nowhere cos he totally supports anything Labor does right or wrong. He is a hypocrite that’s why I & my friends unsubscribed to all his sites.

FJ is a Labor propagandist, so now that his team are doing it (accelerating it too!) you won't hear a peep.
