well in comparison, the flood would be the weakest of the three, zerg and tyranids are actually equals in terms of their capabilities, both are highly adaptable, zerg are faster in this regard but the tyranids have larger and more ranged focused warriors but if the zerg kill and take the bio-mass of any hive fleet then its basicly over for that hive fleet but the same can be said for the zerg if the tyranids get their hands on say an ultralisk.

And then to spice it up just a LiTtlE bit, open another tab with titan sounds.
The worst thing about tryanids isn't the numbers and not necessarily the look, but the amount of sheer effort it takes to fend them off. Unlike ordinary factions and daemons that also fight attrition-based warfare, you have to fight off millions upon millions of harden carapace armor, decibel breaking screeches and units that progressively get taller, stronger and faster. They will quite literally swarm a specific spot until it's completely wiped and move on to the next without needing to fix anything. Their weapons melt armor and skin making it near impossible to fix or heal your armies.
On top of this, you have to fight them retreating, because they will hide in their own dead units, burrow underground, flank from hundreds of miles away and assault from the sky. The weight of sheer numbers makes it impossible to push them back. They have their own juggernauts, their own riflemen, their own version of psykers and their own elites. At no point in fighting Tyranids are you gaining ground. It is not possible. Mind you I'm not talking about their bs spores or swarm-like fleets or warp-stopping abilities or how they travel through space fast as fuck, or how fast they can genetically create units, I'm simply talking about the ground issue.
Like I said before, their looks aren't even the main problem but I'll get to that later. The quintessential point is that you aren't fighting them. You are surviving long enough to where allies from beyond the system can reinforce you. There are no tactics no clandestine strategy, no ( currently) known weapon that gives you the edge against them...you just have to hope you can keep swinging faith and rounds long enough, efficiently enough, so that you can fall back to a "safer","stronger " position to do the same shit for days/weeks/months.
But yes the sight of them is horrible and that is the second issue. Most people don't even like insects or bugs. Hell, we don't even like going into deep waters. Imagine at the very minimum, a 6ft tall bug covered in spikes, talons and teeth. Imagine 6 limbs and all of them designed to kill, maim or suppress you. They run faster than you, they can smell better and if they catch you hiding they can just scream something horrible and have a swarm of ugly bugs to help find you and whoever else is hiding with you. Imagine these things at 8ft, 12ft, 25ft...
In short, the scariest thing is that you're basically German soldiers fending off the soviet advance from every direction until the USSR decides to stop throwing bodies at you, and it's doctrine says it won't
And we speculate that those are their scouts, there could be an actual army image their number then
Here's the thing, you won't get reinforcements because of the shadow in the warp. A planet invaded by tyranids is completely cut off from the rest of the imperium.
They'll stuff themselves in the barrels of cannons till they jam

Play as nids! they were my first army. Nothing like taking out an enemy with mass weight and scything talons. Just like in Starship troopers! If you play, ignore gaunts in this edition.

A Valkyrie transport ship swoops into view, a Jimmy John's logo emblazoned on the side. The Commissar looks at the camera and says, "Jimmy John's. Freaky Fast." He then shoots the guardsman in the head for his cowardice.
The Valkyrie shakes and a Tyranid Mawloc emerges from the ground beneath it. Everyone screams. The camera cuts to static.
This is amazing. The only thing I can think that it is missing is some hints of civilians. There would always be some caught up in the grinding inch by inch retreat when an Imperial world is invaded.
First you hear them. "Momma, I'm scared". Then later on in the track, just a high pitched scream of terror...
The civs would likely be long evacuated or way behind the front lines
I started building my army of tyranids while listening to this. And I realized you were also using sounds from Battlefield 1 and V! This is still great and I hope most people won't notice this at all lol

Two ways to make this sound more epic and scary: 1 the more effective one. Play like 4-10 of these at the same time. 2 play this at 2x speed

Fuck dude 3 minutes into this & I'm already so shook... I cannot even fathom how it would be just being there for hours up to no end just hearing all that...
Now, as you're listening to this imagine yourself as a guardsman. Youve been waiting on this planet in a fortified defensive position, your command not telling you much of anything besides keep a watch for enemy movement. You begin to feel the ground rumble from artillery fire in the distance, and the growls of some beast you've never heard before. You and your felllow guardsmen ready your weapons, check your ammo, and pray to the emperor as a commisar is attempting to calm your nerves with a motivational speech. Then you see them.
Thousands of these horrifying creatures sprinting across no mans land straight at the front lines. Tanks and mortar fire open up, sending chunks of creatures into the air. The commisar yells to open fire and the deafening sounds of bolter fire and laz gun fire overwhelm your senses as you fire into the horde. The aliens crash into the front line like a wave, soon you hear men screaming, grenades exploding and some retreating only to be met with bolter fire for their cowardice. The gunfire, screams, and growls intensify as the horde approaches your trench line. Again they crash into your line and you bayonet one of them that leaped at you, sending it over you into the trench.
You look to your left and the man next to you is being eaten alive by hunreds of these little...things. The man to your right is hit with a projectile and his eaten from the inside out by parasites, his eyes literally melting into mush as he screams in agony. You look behind you and see your commissar being ripped apart by a larger alien, all around you is chaos. Men are firing in all directions and screaming as the horde fills your trench.
Just then you see another one charging at you, you point your laz rifle and fire to no effect as it barrels towards you. Finally you stick the end of your laz gun in your mouth, cry as you know this is the end, and pull the trigger.
I've noticed alot of Dead Space Necromorph sounds for the Tyranids

listening to this gives me flashbacks of playing the unification mods for dawn of war soulstorm with a friend, we set the gamemode to survival against nids on hard.
we spent 4 hours of intense fighting before we decided to stop playing lol.

What'd win. Tyranid bioforms or the ever mutating Zerg? Rules: Both can consume each other's biomass for fuel. Inborne Bioweapons can be resisted to a extent (toxic blood for example can be assimilated, but not a weaponized virus/larva), Both may arrive with a full fleet, Niether may use psionics to disrupt other's Command and control outside killing a related unit.
My bet is the Zerg.

@@thomasdgfhf5524 Don't think so. Despite the Tyranid's thing of 'evolving' they lack the sheer and raw ability to subvert a entire planet like the Zerg could. Plus Zerg can grow whole new bioforms anywhere, and practically heal nearly all wounds. A zerg Virus would also be almost entirely unstoppable amongst the nid ranks, due to how it zombifies and adds the zombie to the Zerg mass. Add in that most zerg units are rather mobile, and tbh..better armored, and can adapt whole new and undying strains like the tarrasque...well..Tyranids only work well when they can outmanuever another faction. They still can be bombed into oblivion. It has no strategies for things like the tarrasque which would already be near impossible to kill, or the zombie virus. Add in that the Zerg have a habit of overriding even mechanical structures and probably could hijack Tyranid pools for more biomass, and I think it's a done deal. Plus the Tyranids are famously bad at fighting in space, where as a Zerg Leviathan not only can enter atmosphere, it can also literally beat the living snot out of anything around it. Tyranids don't have the greatest space weapons. XD And No, a Hive fleet can't just win by saying it's got millions of ships. You gotta play fair somehow, and if the zerg win the ground war, that huge hive fleet won't mean much as the zerg swell. Zerg can, as a reminder, chase even Tyranid titan bioforms underground. Hell the Ultralisk is considered a 'common' unit, which is titan size and better built and armored XD.

Where do you get your Tyranid sounds from? It's hard to find a lot of good sounding alien creature/bug sounds!
The majority of them were sounds made by the Necromorphs from Dead Space
