0:45 star wars theme, hehe... Check all that field and all that hillside. Colonial hunting is a lot different than existing yards. The signals are much fewer and far between, but that rare coin is laying around somewhere. Pocket watch like that should have some real gems, in it. Literally real GEMS Happy Hunting !
Welcome back . I have been trying to dig in NC and two inches down the ground is frozen. Lol This is my first year digging and I did not know what I had hit and took my gloves off and realized it was frozen earth. Lol. Trying to learn to put up a TH-cam channel for my digs. Take care. At least you did Not make me dizzy this time. Lol HUGS
Have you done a historic aerial research job on your home yet? Might want to do that to see if things have changed in the land. They might have moved dirt somewhere on that property
Your bags of concrete will turn to rock if it stays where it is. Like your place. And love the area!! To bring u good luck put it over your front door. Plus live under houses like yours there spiders called wolf spiters. They are as big as a tarantulas. I know because i had 2 come into my home. We did a add on and defore we could get through with the work. I had a visitor of them. I almost died!!! So look out.
It's funny you found a French coin over there (not available anymore though) ! Better quality than the Euros we have now. Thanks for sharing. Take care. 😊👍👍👍
JD, You did it again! This came on from the autoplay and though I've seen this whole vid once and parts of it a few times, but this time my husband was sitting here with me and became (Glued to this video) all over again. Wish he listened to me as good. (giggling)
Not sure if anyone mentioned but the Mandarin commemorative token comes from a chain of buffet restaurants in Ontario (Canada)! Paired with the French coin you've got quite the international finds! en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces165780.html
That was such a teeny tiny baby swig! 😂 Thanks for posting! I’m in da way up north by Canada, no detecting for a little while yet for me. I must live vicariously through you and all the other detectors on TH-cam.
Well I've been meaning to tell you for some time, since you moved into your new farm house, that you have done very well for yourself. You have a beautiful piece of property that many would envy. The surrounding area is full of character and a nice view to behold. As you do improvements and renovations be sure to finish and make that bathroom in the garage functional....you will be glad you did somewhere down the line. And I'm sorry to bring this up again....solve that problem with the mice !!! They carry all sorts of diseases and will ruin your house from the inside out. Take care and keep the videos coming.
Thanks Brian. As for the mice, I caught 5 within a week when the cold weather started. And since then, I haven't seen a single one. So I think it's under control. :)
Thanks for getting back to me. Love your videos, love the fact that you bring your mom out with you on a few hunts. As I'm older than your mom, it's nice to see a young buck like yourself doing well in commerce, and a pretty nice basketball player to boot. love your new place....keep up the good work J.D. Good nite and god bless.
JD, love all your videos, MD, amethysts, traveling, money stuff (I had no idea), and your life discussions. I wanted to send you a supportive comment although I don't know where you were heading. As a young retiree, I realized even a normal job that I had, that wasn't me ten hours a day for 38 years. I retired and moved to Florida. Maybe I will buy a metal detector once I figure out which detector to buy. I watch MD videos of many others, and several have referred to you as knowing what some unusual find probably is. Glad to see a new video again. You do a nice job on the videos, too.
The piece of pottery you found by the springhouse is probably part of an old crock, maybe one they used to carry the water, or put butter in (to keep cold in the spring). Fun hunt!
Great to see you back and another metal detecting video my friend. Looking forward to new adventures from you in 2018! Nice to see you're using the same machine as I am. Loving the Fisher f44 Tennessee Adventures
Richard Mcclure, That's what I was thinking. In the spring, I would be all over that area, especially where the pucker brush grows. Perfect morel environment.
Another really enjoyable video with everything......scenery, wildlife, humor, tree peeling fetish and donuts. Last, but not least, The Rest Of The Story! Happy to know the final fate of The Morgan! Love the farm videos!
JD, You crack me up. Only you could make a video of a hunt consisting of shell casings, pull tabs and other mundane items seem Interesting, but You Did It!. : D My husband was glued to it. Thank Goodness for the driveway bearing a coin and your other recent finds. Woohoo! Hugs to you, my friend.
Look around under that building where that old tire was. my wife's grandfather had one like that and he tossed stuff under for years, I found two Native American stone axes under it that he had turned up while plowing in the field.
Hey JD, I believe the pocket watch is from Schild Freres & Co a germany manufacturer from 1856 more info about them at this at schild-eterna.de, look at this website for the discussion from a few years ago forums.watchuseek.com/f11/help-swiss-pocket-alarm-clock-unknown-maker-s-f-c-160815.html
What an interesting video JD, I loved the bird in the tree, thank you for zooming in on it. What a hike up the hill but the view was well worth it. I imagine as its covered in the summer thats why there's nothing to find there. Take care my friend, good luck and happy hunting, God bless you Mary-Ellen UK
Awesome nature video, really nice and it's in your backyard! Speeking about doughnuts, I was feeling a chocolate bar doughnut all day today. Over all nice finds, nice Morgan and don't you think you have enough Mercury dimes? I can't wait to see what other treasure's you find next, on that property!
Heya JD. A couple of things; 1. You have won first place in my 2017 Best Of TH-cam Awards as. " Most Personable TH-cam star". Yes, the awful singing vids were a big part of the judging. Also the personal background vids, and of course the amazing basketball skills. So there it is...you are the most interesting, personable, and likeable star in 2017.
The chain looks like horse tackle and I have heard other metal detectorists say that oval chain often dates to the Civil War. The bend in that metal spike makes me think it was used as a pin to connect the horses to a plow, wagon, or logs being dragged around.
OverUnity7734 , I think that old long square head bolt, falls in the same category. I have found these around old horse drawn farm equipment that rotted away on the family farm.
So beautiful and peaceful out there.
Will be cool to see the knoll come summertime. Hope you are staying warm!

I believe the Chinese coin is marking the 35th anniversary of the Mandarin restaurants. We have one here in Des Moines, IA.
Nice video! Thanks JD! BTW, I love your enthusiasm!
You live in a beautiful area! Blessed!!
Your iron bar is surveyors marker. Mid 20th century.
I like your videos at your old homestead. They are always interesting.
Your bags of concrete will turn to rock if it stays where it is. Like your place. And love the area!! To bring u good luck put it over your front door. Greetings from Black Forrest Germany. Love your Videos.

happy new Year JD :) best wishes
Loved the view from the hill you climbed. Was there any Civil War activity in this area?
JD, You did it again! This came on from the autoplay and though I've seen this whole vid once and parts of it a few times, but this time my husband was sitting here with me and became (Glued to this video) all over again. Wish he listened to me as good. (giggling)

Thanks for responding, I was just curious. Looking forward to more detecting videos from around your property. Btw you have a beautiful home.

One day you should dig out the old outhouse. No telling what you might find.
How much snow are they expecting for your area ? We got about 3" today from the same system .
