Cordell Hull Lake: LATE Sumer Fishing

This Cedar City Tournament on Cordell Hull was only the third time I have ever fished this lake. It was a grind to say the least. I've only ever caught bass fishing a jerkbait this aggressively one other time and it was late spring as opposed to late summer. The bass were keyed on very small bait balls that they had pinned to the surface. Reaction strikes were the only way I could keep the rod bent.
The water on this lake was way cleaner and had a much higher water clarity than it seemed to the naked eye. Very natural colors were the only baits that I had success with. Of course, I only had one ‪@Megabass_inc‬ junior jerkbait. I wish I would've had a +1 to get past the schools of small fish to bigger keepers that I knew were underneath them. I found productive water, but I couldn't provide the proper presentation.
How would you tackle this scenario?
