No kidding. There are some really good videos on pulling the unit, eaiser than a radio, and putting the switches in in a less caveman way with out the risk of making a bigger mess. I give it to the guy for having the balls to go for it though.
Trust me you dont want to do this its not hard to remove unit and change switches pulling it out can damage the control.board take the time and do it right

This has to be the worst way to do this, its quicker disassembling the trims and removing the climate panel correctly. I would 100% not advise this method to people, looks like you butchered the fascia trim. Terrible job sorry.
I appreciate the video, but I would do it correctly, easily done in 30 minutes plus there is a circuit board right behind where you are drilling, and I’m sure you have broken tab pieces inside after pulling it out.
I was horrified watching this horrible method, and what I expected happened, you scratched up the climate control surface, and now it looks like $hit 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Do NOT do that and do it the right way.

Dude, did it occur to you to put something down to collect the plastic bits or tape to protect your console?
It’s really not that bad to remove unit from car, disassemble and remove/replace rocker buttons without any destruction.
