    How was the process for gathering materials for the ARC? Also, I'm actually flying to Korea next week Tuesday and haven't started the ARC process yet. I was actually comparing Korea University to Yonsei University in terms of their registration process, Yonsei says it could take up to 6 weeks to get your card whereas Korea University says it could take up to 3 weeks to get your card. Do you know anyone who managed to get their ARC sooner rather than later? 🤔

      @@madebyymira Oh, will you also be going to Yonsei or a different University?

    • @happyingeunjee
      @happyingeunjee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The materials for the ARC is pretty self explanatory (if I remember correctly, all you need is the letter of acceptance from the university, which they give you on the first day). I recommend making an appointment soon after school officially starting for you because you really don't know how fast your school will walk you through the process! (As you mentioned, Yonsei seems to be on the very slow side).
      I got my ARC months sooner than everyone else because I made an appointment as soon as I got to Korea (and especially because Yonsei was so slow with everything)! People who did the process on their own in general got their ARC much quicker!
      Have a safe flight~ I'm so jealous that you're going to Korea and I'm so excited for you!

    Hi love your video! I am applying for ewha and I do have a quick question about the Bank Cards. In your video you stated that a reason like studying abroad does not count unless the bank is university-affiliated. What does that mean exactly? English isn’t my first language. And does that count for exchange students only or international students doing their full degree there aswell?

    • @happyingeunjee
      @happyingeunjee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      First of all, thank you so much for your comment! I'm happy to hear people are liking my videos ;_;
      About your question, I believe it may have been because I was a short term exchange student. In order to prevent people from creating bank accounts (to be used in scams), security is very high for opening an account. You need to be able to prove that you absolutely need it (ie: you receive a salary, you need to pay taxes/insurance, etc). Being a student doesn't qualify you automatically!
      However, university-affiliated banks have an agreement/understanding with the bank. They're willing to open and close the bank account while you're there! (This was why I was forced to open one with Woori even though my first choice was a different bank!)

    Hey! Do you have any suggestions on activities we can take long term?

    • @happyingeunjee
      @happyingeunjee  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello there~
      Definitely anything related to your interests! I took kpop dance classes during my entire time, and I loved it. There's such a great variety of classes and activities/hobbies that you can sign yourself up for at pretty nice prices. Some examples of things I've done are soap making, pottery, and hiking.
      Not sure if this answered your question, but hope it helps!

    I've been thinking about applying for Yondei University so I've been researching on it for a while. For some context, I'm an overseas Korean and my mom was a Korean national when I was born but she changed her nationality when I was 10. When I saw that students with dual citizenships cannot go on international track, I got even more confused. The thing is that my mom didn't register my birth in Korea but I heard that it's possible to get it if you have the documents that you need. I've been thinking about telling my mom but I feel like she wouldn't want me to do that since the nationality thing is complicated. Should I just go on the international track and not mention about the fact that my mom was a Korean national at the time of my birth or do I deal with nationality thing first and apply for overseas Korean track. Also, I'm not fluent in Korea but I'm currently learning it so I'm not really sure if I should do the overseas Korean track once I graduate from high school

    Wowww so informative!! Thanks! Is the alien registration card made in University or we have to register in some specific place?

    • @happyingeunjee
      @happyingeunjee  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for your kind comment💜 The ARC can be registered directly at the Korean government office (you can make an appointment on the website), but there's a school-wide general application (but this is the one that ended up taking a long time for when I was studying abroad)

    so between obtaining a korean credit card vs just talking to my card provider here in the us and letting them know i’m leaving the country for a bit- what’s the difference?

    • @happyingeunjee
      @happyingeunjee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are seldom places in Korea that do not take foreign credit cards (my examples were the automated machines at train stations). It does make life easier in that sense :) Also, having a Korean bank account means you can make direct bank transfers for payments (really common in Korea!) such as rent (or even buying something off the street). Having a bank account gives you that flexibility, but it isn't completely necessary!

    I'm going to apply for WAY (Winter Abroad at Yonsei) which is only 3 weeks, so would I still need the ARC if I am going to Korea for a short amount of time?

    • @happyingeunjee
      @happyingeunjee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so! Processing and shipping in itself would take at least a month so you don't have to worry about your ARC unless your university tells you! Have fun in Korea~ super jealous :)

    Can you please make a video on personal statement or SOP and Study plan that write for admissions at yonsei University bcoz its really imp. as well. Please it will bring a idea of what to write bcoz don't know what korean University are actually looking for in a student.

      If I ever have the bandwidth, I'd be happy to make a video, but my study plan/personal statement was incredibly generic! I just focused on why I chose Korea and Yonsei specifically to study abroad over any other place. I then wrote about the courses I wanted to take and why!

    Totally loved your video sis. In your previous video you said you are doing pre-med course right? Thank god I found you. I'm thinking about studying medicine in Korea. As far as I know , they have like 2 year pre-med and 4 year med course. As an international student, can complete and continue to work there in Korea? I always have problems finding information from their official page let alone google! Other than the language , what are the requirements for an international students to get in per-med and med? And yeah , personally I was planning for Yonsei university also . Thank you for helping us with these important information 🥰 I hope you will see this comment and reply🥺

      I actually studied abroad at Yonsei for only one semester, so I wouldn't be qualified to answer your questions! I do know in general the med school applications are separate from the rest of the school. I recommend looking into their med school website!
