The mother who truly believes her daughter is poisoning her needs help… it’s heartbreaking. She lives in a false reality but she truly believes she is being poisoned. It isn’t personal, she is wired that way & it’s not her fault. It’s so heartbreaking. Imagine believing something so whole heartedly but no one believing you. It’s tragic & so many people don’t want to take the time to understand mental illness. I hope this family gets the mother the help she needs.
I mean it's not too unbelievable. There's several kids who have killed their parents. I was watching a video earlier where a girl killed her mom with a skillet. It happens often especially when the parents have money

I can’t speak for the mother, but if I were to give an educated guess as to why she continues to go back, it would be that because people who live in a constant state of survival, fight or flight mode crave familiarity & feelings of “safety” (repetitive behavior).

It’s not an unfathomable idea that a child killed their parent or that a parent killed their kid - or attempted to. Steve has even had a few stories on the show where they thought someone was trying to poison them.
