Hi i have a 9900 with tmobile in holland and its also branded i was wondering if theres any advantages in unlocking my 9900 even tho my simcard is tmobile ? thanks
i have been trying to unlock BB 9930, when i type mepd, the network column reads "BLOCKED" it does not prompt to type the mep2 code. when i type mep2 nothing happens, screen remains same. please help
@NinjaWithTacos Yes, once any phone is unlocked (including the blackberry bold 9900) the SIM card you are putting in is the exact same thing as when it was in the previous phone. All unlocking does it allows the phone to read other SIM cards. You still get all the good functionalities of your SIM including data plan, BBM, etc.
correction, unless this is different on OS7, but when the phone is locked, Network will be active and everything else will be disabled, and when the phone is unlocked network will change and say disabled or inactive

For everyone looking for an answer to why when they type mep2 in the sim card menu, and nothing happens, One of 2 things 1) Try typing it whilst holding alt throughout, or try typing mep then alt and 2 And then 2) If still, nothing happens, that's because your phone is already unlocked, nothing happens when you type mep2 if your phone does not require the mep2 code.. Hope that helps!
@hangene92 Every phone on earth has a different unlock code. Nobody can find a code for you exept yourself as it all depends on your phones IMEI number (special set of numbers found on every phone by entering *#06# on the phone)
